When you're in that line of business, of course she probably handles a lot of patients that are experiencing both pregnancy & teen sexuality. Though from my perspective... all medical patients should be treated individually (obviously) since no one individual has the same issue. She however, right from my first visit at thirteen was trying to prescribe birth control as a "preventative" even though I was very insistent that I was NOT sexually active nor did I plan to be for years to come. Years later as an adult, I shared that I had been sexually active at that point, she was more reserved on the issue of birth control. However, I started to complain about having terrible menstrual cramps & what does she recommend? "Well, actually, birth control can help facilitate with cramps" It's sad when my only memories of my gyno are of trying to aggressively push for the use of birth control without, in my opinion, actually listening to any problems with my body that I may have been experiencing at the time.

He woke up with a fever and we had to get him in somewhere fast, as we suspected it was an ear infection. We get there at 4:40, and are "greeted" by an insanely rude employee saying nothing except "We're done here" in what I would consider a pretty aggressive tone. Not a "hi, I'm sorry we're closing down, but here are some other options for you.." or anything somewhat pleasant. And again, I recognize this is very last minute but the hours of operation state that they're open until 5, and we didn't have a lot of options (other than an emergency room which is not going to be our best option for ear infection.) if you're going to close at 4:30, that should be your posted hours! It's insane to expect people to just know when you decide to close up shop if it's not outside of the posted hours. And I could forgive that, and even maybe understand, if the employee wasn't so extremely disrespectful and crass. Unfortunately we just won't be returning here because honestly I don't have enough grace left in me to interact with that employee again. Sad when what was once a great business can be ruined by one horrible employee.

We talk about different options and she, as well as the other doctors, do anything and everything they can for him and my youngest. I have always, and always will refer Modesto pediatrics! My six-month-old son had to undergo open-heart surgery at a children's hospital in the Bay Area, where there were no issues with his insurance during his stay. Afterward, he had follow-up appointments with his cardiologist, and there were no problems with insurance verification. However, for his pediatrician the office began saying he couldn't be seen for his follow-up due to a lack of insurance coverage. I contacted the insurance company, and they confirmed he was covered. When the insurance called the office, the front desk staff insisted they couldn't rely on what the insurance said over the phone and had to go by their internal system. This was incredibly frustrating. For over a month and a half, I went back and forth with the office and my insurance to get my son seen. After yet another call, I asked to speak with a supervisor. The front desk staff then admitted they had been looking at the information incorrectly and said my son could be seen. I pressed for a supervisor because I felt the situation was unacceptable, especially since it had been over a month since his surgery. The supervisor acknowledged that the office should have listened to the insurance provider and assured me the issue was resolved. However, when I later tried to book an appointment for my daughter, I was informed within 15 minutes that she couldn't be seen due to insurance issues. I explained that I had just navigated this with my son and that the insurance was valid. The staff then mentioned that verification needed to be done for each child separately, adding to the confusion. Overall, the front desk's handling of appointment booking and insurance verification has been unprofessional, unhelpful, and at times rude. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, especially when it comes to my children's health care needs.
