Got all the studies and work well done and professionally to have a piece of mind about my female issues.

I was a patient of Esther's from about 13 - 18 years old. Here's her business profile: http://heraobgyn.net/staff/etow.aspx She was my first OB-GYN so I don't have many to compare her to, but I would say my patient experience with her had been very inadequate. When you're in that line of business, of course she probably handles a lot of patients that are experiencing both pregnancy & teen sexuality. Though from my perspective... all medical patients should be treated individually (obviously) since no one individual has the same issue. She however, right from my first visit at thirteen was trying to prescribe birth control as a "preventative" even though I was very insistent that I was NOT sexually active nor did I plan to be for years to come. Years later as an adult, I shared that I had been sexually active at that point, she was more reserved on the issue of birth control. However, I started to complain about having terrible menstrual cramps & what does she recommend? "Well, actually, birth control can help facilitate with cramps" It's sad when my only memories of my gyno are of trying to aggressively push for the use of birth control without, in my opinion, actually listening to any problems with my body that I may have been experiencing at the time. read more

Dr Tow-Der has always been a kind and compassionate and competent physician in my experience! I would highly recommend her!

I had been to dr tow 10 years ago and then just went back after my own MD said I needed an OBGYN for some issues I'm having. I read these reviews about her and was shocked and considered going somewhere else. I didn't and I am so glad. She was just as wonderful as I had remembered. Her bedside manner was better then most doctors I've seen. She answered everyone of my concerns in laymen terms so I would understand. Asked if I had any more questions. Was not in a hurry to get me out of there. At the end she did a check list of all the things I came in for and again repeated her course of action. Extremely thorough and kind. I would recommend her to my own daughters and friends. Please don't always believe all the bad reviews. I think I've only written three in my life but felt she deserved one after all she was GREAT and the other reviews on her didn't shine the best light. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. Horrible bedside manner so sarcastic and conceded. You are definitely a number when seeing this doctor. Not going to go into detail on my specific situation but all I can say is she dropped the ball overlooking my wife's situation and if not for an ER visit, could have been a devastating situation for my family. Would not sent my worst enemy to this moron. read more

I read some of the negative reviews and was very surprised. I know that everyone has their own opinions, but in MY opinion, Dr. Tow was very professional! She sat down and explained everything to me in detail and was very personable and knowledgeable. I would definitely refer Dr. Tow patients. read more

Oh, Dr. Tow, it is about time I give my review of her practice. She did not do our prenatal care but did deliver my baby last year when I had the misfortune of going into the hospital during her on-call shift. I would describe her bedside manner except that would imply she has any manners. Before the birth she was curt, impatient, demeaning, rude, ...need I go on? After the birth she did not check on me or the baby once, limiting her interactions with my family to demand my husband delete some of the birth footage he recorded. When I left the hospital and had a reaction to one of the medications she prescribed her office would not let me set up an appointment. Neither would they let me schedule my six-week surgical follow up appointment. "You are not her patient," they insisted, while simultaneously mailing the bill to my house. Regarding her recommendations during the birth, they were neither evidence-based nor followed ACOG Practice Bulletin recommendations. Her treatment seemed based on her own convenience and not on my or my child's well being as she tried to rush me into agreeing to interventions to speed up the birth process. She did not provide information for me to give informed consent to the treatment, but instead threatened that my baby would die if I tried to get a second opinion, and she knew I felt coerced because I told her I only consented under duress. What an awful birth experience! I highly recommend you Google this doctor as well as read the filtered reviews. I am certainly not the first woman she has mistreated. Do your research! You don't want your low-risk pregnancy ending traumatically because of a bullying obstetrician. read more

Dr. Esther Tow Der is the worst doctor, unprofessional, and unethical doctor. She desserved ZERO star. She's very rough, have no compassion and she looks bored in doing her profession. Avoid this doctor unless you want to have infection during your delivery. Hera medical group was ok then when Dr. Lacuna was still there now that he's gone I don't know what what will be the future of that clinic. Dr. Yip is very nice he handle his patient with dignity but Tow Der good luck she's evil doctor. Avoid this clinic you will be sorry and don't entrust the health of your pregnancy with Tow Der. We will never go back to this clinic again unless they fire Tow Der we may consider this clinic again. read more

Tow-der is not a person I would want to have as a primary doctor. Two times I've had to deal with her during my wife's pregnancy and OMG the second was not by choice. She has no empathy and only see's her patients as if they were a profile. Shows no emotions or concern for her patients. What you and I would consider excessive, she considers normal. We will definitely try our best not to run into her during the baby's delivery, I would hate to have her delivering our baby or monitoring my wife during it. read more

I had to change over to a new private insurance plan and chose Dr Tow as my Gynecologist, hesitantly, after reading these sub-par reviews. I can say that i'm REALLY glad I went forward and selected her. In my experience, shes been an excellent Dr. Shes very thorough and given what medical issues we were looking at, that was VERY much appreciated. She was busy, but I didn't feel rushed at all. She answered all my questions completely. During the procedure I went through, her bedside manner was patient, professional and very human. I feel lucky to have her as my Dr and will be signing my daughter under her care as well. Everyone is different, please take that into consideration when reading these reviews. My previous Gynecologist was Denese Davis and she too was excellent, unfortunately she was no longer in my network as she had resigned from Sutter. I hope this review helps someone :) read more

I was seen by dr. Tow this afternoon for the first time. I found her to be knowledgable, cheerful and did a great job of explaining my medical issues In a way I understood. Her nurse Jennifer was also great. I would recommend Dr. Tow to anyone. read more

I wish I could have given less than one star, that is how bad my experience with her was. Her bedside manner is rude, short and uncompassionate. I chose her because I thought that by having a female OB she would be more gentle and understanding than a male. It was the exact opposite. They have 3 Drs. that rotate, and I always dredded the appointments with her. When it was time to deliver my 1st child to my dismay she was the Dr. on call. The experience got even more traumatizing at that point. I was in excruciating pain during labor and she was so irritated by the fact that my labor was taking so long. While I was screaming in pain and pushing she was laughing and joking with the nurse about her vacation plans. Then she had the nerve to call her office (while she is in between my legs) and complain to her staff that she is late for her morning appointments because I am taking longer than expected. It was an absolute nightmare. Broke my heart and even made me contemplate having more children. Needless to say, I switched Dr.s and never went back. read more
