I purchased the TruComplete package. It consisted of 8 applications and several other items. The internet listed the included services but does not indicate they are extra. They completed my aeration service and charged me $230+. When I called to inquire I was told the service is not included. When I told them I thought the advertisement was deceptive they didn't seem to care. I cancelled service. Next stop BBB. UPDATE: Trugreen has sense reached out to me and refunded me the aeration and gave me some discounts on future applications. So I'm increasing the rating from 1 to 4 stars. I'm done with this company!... The quality has gone downhill and they message you the day of the service to let you know they will be coming that day which is a big inconvenience if someone needs to unlock access gates and make sure pets are inside. They allow customers to track the service truck location but it is rarely accurate and doesn't provide information stating what time they are coming by. I cancelled my service today after I waited at home for 2 hours while they were parked one street away from my house. I called customer service and they confirmed they were parked where I saw them on the map. I wanted to talk to them when they arrived about the problems with my lawn and finally had to leave my house for an appointment after 2 hrs of waiting while the map indicated they were still parked on the cross street. On my way to my appointments, I drove past the EXACT location where they had been parked for 2 hrs and they were not there, even though the map indicated they were still parked there. I called the customer service center on my way to my appointment and the person I spoke with spent most of her time reading from a script instead of wanting to hear my concerns. I canceled my service over the phone and told them I wanted a refund for my service that was not performed. She tried to tell me they had already completed the service near the end of the call. In order for that to happen, they would have had to show up and complete the service on both the frontyard and backyard within a 4 minute period by comparing the exact time I left my house until I received a text message stating the work was completed. The company is very aggressive with their marketing. There was no pre-service evaluation, only a verbal assurance that a site visit was not necessary, as they are experts and know, based on my location, what is needed to restore the lawn, in spite of the fact that the salesperson was located in Pennsylvania. When pressed to provide a written contract with their performance commitments, the salesperson responded that I just needed to sign the service agreement, and if unhappy with the service, I could cancel the contract. However, he would not provide written terms of cancelation. I began to feel very pressured and uncomfortable with their aggressive approach. Started with TruGreen 2 years ago to get rid of weeds in my lawn. Front lawn still full of weeds. Much of the grass in my back yard is dead exposing raw dirt. Despite, they continue to apply their fertilizer/pre-emergent to the bare ground. No one has ever made a suggestion on what to do about this. read more

They were decent the first year. I continued to use them through all seasons. i did not skip any recommended treatments. I am now questioning if they actually treated my back lawn over the winter and into spring as it's 70% weeds! After a few emails they sent a tech to spray once. I've had TruGreen since 2019 when I first bought my house, at the beginning they were awesome and my yard looked great. Now here in the last 2 years or so they've gone to complete shit. They hire the most lazy service providers to service the yards and do either half ass work or don't even come by and all and say it's serviced when it wasn't. I don't know how many people I have to talk to, to get the service done right. So if y'all want a great looking yard and no problems with getting the yard done correctly don't use TruGreen. If this isn't the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with, they Definitely have 2nd place tied up! Hired them in February 2024 to service my lawn to include all fertilization needs and control lawn pests. After several months of treatments, large areas in the lawn appeared to be dying. I reached out the them concerned and requested someone come out to take a look and get the problem under control. I get a call from Matt insuring me that he is a turf specialist and will come take a look. Later that same day I get a text from him requesting pictures of the lawn so that he would have an idea of what he might be up against. Next day or two he came out and agreed that it was something that they were doing which was causing these large areas of my lawn to die. He verbally stated that they would treat my lawn for free until the problem was resolved and my lawn was back the way it was prior to these dead spots and from that point forward we would be back at them providing service and me paying for those services again. The free treatments started about August or so of last year so we weren't far the Bermuda grass going dormant. They came and treated a few times that were free of charge and then there were a couple that i got charged for. After noticing the charges i would call to remind them that these were temporarily free until my lawn was fixed and they would read the notes on my account and agree that i should be refunded and I was. The last time they treated my lawn was this past January 2025. I was charged and I again called and requested a refund along with a request that I get a call from the branch Manager whom at that time was Michael . The next day i got a call from their customer service stating that they had gotten the request for the branch manager to call me and that he would be calling me the next day. Did not get a call from Michael the next day, but did receive a call from their customer service department stating the same thing as the day before, that they had gotten the request from me to have the branch manager to call me and that he would be reaching out to me the next day. I was then asked what were my concerns and i stated that i was past ready to get a resolution to all this. Then i was told that my account had been terminated and that it would never be reinstated. I asked why and they told me that I had called it to cancel the account. I told them that absolutely did not happen and the guy argued with me about it. I again requested a call from Michael. Next day i get a call from their customer service again just for them to tell me my account was closed and would never be reinstated and that the branch manager had sent me an email stating so. I told them i never got an email and they said well, it was sent. I asked them to show me proof of the email and they said they couldn't. I again asked for a call from the branch manager. Once again, next day i get a call from their customer service stating the same ole think about my account being closed and that Michael Spivey had sent me a registered letter stating so, which I never got. I again asked for proof knowing that those have to be signed for and again was told they could provide proof. Finally got a call form a gentleman named Faheem ( may not be the correct spelling), he told me that he was in the sales department at the Round Rock branch and he would speak to Matt and Michael and get back to me about was they were going to do. Matt had once before tried blaming the dead spots on the cottontail rabbits that live out in this area. I will agree that there are an abundance of cottontail rabbits in this area and there has been for a long time, so that's nothing new. I told Faheem that it was without doubt not the fault of the rabbits as they have been in this area and in abundance for many years. And in fact that Trugreen was servicing this residence prior to us buying and moving into this house in Sept of 2018 and this lawn was beautiful when we got here and that same rabbit population was a problem then as well. Emailed Michael and gave him 48 hours to contact me before the Attorney General was contacted and reviews went out. 72 hours or so as of this writing and no response. They dont care, Obviously! Almost forgot. During one of those conversations with one of their customer service people, they told me that they don't do soil samples. That afternoon I was at home in the back yard when my girlfriend called and ask if I was at home because there was a Fedex delivery guy standing on our front porch. I was able to get out there and catch him. He stated that he had a package for me that had to be signed for. I signed, got the package and took it inside and opened it and low and behold it was a soil sample that had been taken at a Catholic church in Austin and instead of it be sent to the place to be analyzed, it was sent to me. I paid for a service contract up front for lawn and shrub care. During the year the weeds have never disappeared infact they are worse, and I lost over 8 trees to disease. The service is not thorough. Even after calling customer service to enquire how many treatments I had left I still got charged an extra $600 dollars which is non refundable for visits that they stated were re visits for the poor service. I have used TruGreen for the past 4 years. When they started, my yard was in great shape. I have reached out to them many times over the past 1.5 years because my yard started looking worse and worse. Ive never had so many weeds in my yard as I do now. I have asked to meet with a supervisor on many occasions and haven't been contact by one at all, not even a phone call. They have been stealing my money and I will finally be canceling my service. They've had plenty of chances to correct their issues and have done absolutely nothing about it. If you are looking for weed and feed service, do not use TruGreen. I had high expectations based on the service provided to one of my acquaintances. Unfortunately these were going away visit after visit... disappeared recently when I noticed the grass dying, missing spots everywhere and as I provided feedback to the service reps, continued to be ignored by the folks coming on site and over the phone. Our experience with TruGreen was abysmal. We signed up for an annual lawn maintenance plan in February 2020 and our yard proceeded to go straight downhill under their watch. Huge areas of the yard began to die from either pests (chinch bugs) or disease or both, without anybody saying anything to us about it. See the pics. No call. No note left. No nothing. Here's several things they don't tell you when you sign up: 1) the same tech rarely treats your yard twice. It's always somebody different, which means they aren't familiar with how the yard looked in previous visits. 2) They just treat your yard with whatever is prescribed for that visit, regardless of whether your yard might need something different. This meant that when our yard badly needed fungicide/pesticide they just kept sending the fertilizer truck around and the tech hopped out and did that. No individual attention to what our yard needed. They aren't set up to do that. 3) The techs aren't particularly knowledgeable about or skilled at lawn maintenance. They just spray/spread whatever's on the truck for that day. 4) No one calls you to say "I'm on the way" or "Be there between 10-12". You just get an email on the day of service. What's truly appalling is that nobody at TruGreen cared. I would call and ask for somebody to come out at a pre-set time, look over the lawn with us, and diagnose the problem. And nobody would call back to do that. I asked the random tech doing the service one day if he would have his manager call us. He said sure. No one ever called. So after six months of horrible service and our lawn dying in patches right in front of our eyes, we cancelled and got a prorated refund. Once I got additions done to my house I no longer needed their services and cancelled. One year later I get a call from a collections agency saying I owed them money. I wish I could give them 0 stars. See the attached photos. I have had TruGreen for almost a year, and the lawn has gotten worse! Yes, I tried calling them, and all I get is the proverbial "I'll have a manager call you," that never seems to come. The numerous times I have called, I get the same "no one else in the office, but we will call you tomorrow." Still waiting! When I asked the service rep, why do I have to keep calling in to address the issue from my lawn? Can't the person coming out each month see the problem and get it addressed? I was told they don't do that. They said, "This is a partnership you have to help us to know you have a problem." First, it doesn't take a Ph.D. in Biology to see we have a problem and Second since when do I pay this much for a partnership that doesn't hold up its end. The worst thing is I fell for it a second time. When I spoke to the service rep told me I needed to spend another $200 to get my lawn aerated. So I paid even more money for something that never improved. Yes, I do feel foolish! The guarantee - that is a total joke, you have to speak to a manager to get a refund but they are never there and I never get a callback. My neighbors on both side of me water their lawns the same amount I do so no it is not an weather, soil or other reason like that. It is TruGreen's fault. We fired TruGreen a month or two back because the misquoted us on both services rendered and estimated cost on our initial call. Thankfully, this was resolved and a full refund was issued prior to us taking our business elsewhere. Today, out of the blue, a TruGreen worker showed up at our home unannounced to aerate our yard. Thankfully we noticed before he got very far and informed him that we did not need TruGreen's services. Well, as it turns out, he did get far enough to slice our buried google fiber line and leave our back gate wide open. Thankfully I noticed the gate was open when examining the fiber line before our dogs got the chance to explore the neighborhood. Horrible! AVOID!!!! Signed up for tree service. Someone inexperienced showed up, complaining he was up since 4am. He barely sprayed most trees, they now have insects days later. He sprayed a maple tree the next day all leaves and trunk are brown and falling off. No fertilization was done at all, which I was told will happen (and the main reason i signed up). Meh, they are a cookie cutter service. It's pretty affordable and they add fertilizer and weed killer but my biggest issue is that we paid for dirt/compost dressing on the lawn. However they never said it had pecan shell pieces in it which I know feed the lawn, but they hurt the feet when barefoot. The reviews about this company are actually true to the sayings. My husband signed up for this service and he came home to let me know. I asked him did he check the reviews. He had not - so I looked at the reviews and informed him and let him know we will not go with this company. All of their reviews are bad. This company was supposed to begin their service on 03/31/21. I called the Tina lady who my husband spoke to on 03/29/21 @ 10:28am and left a voicemail message informing that we would not be going with the service - that it was not needed. Needless to say - there was no returned call from this Tina lady. My husband also replied to a text from them telling them that it would be cancelled. March 31st came and went - therefore we assumed they received all communications to cancel. Well - 04/06/21 - a TruGreen person came to our house rung the door bell once and did not wait for anyone to answer. He just begin walking to our backyard and did nothing. Then stated he fertilized our trees and shrubs. I seen nothing around our trees or shrubs. Regardless - we cancelled this and they were not supposed to come out and then they come a whole week after the original date. And to top it all off they took a payment from my husband accounts. He sent her a text message yesterday with me included in the text and she still has not returned a call, a text, or nothing. Then when my husband tried to respond to an email that was sent to him - he received a bounce back error. I tried to call customer service and the hold time was 45 minutes. I would wonder if it was for all the clients calling in about the terrible service and communication. I want the money refunded back into my husband's account. My goodness - I have spent an hour on the phone with your "call center". Our lawn is looking horrible. I asked the Trugreen person in my yard what's up and he said grubs, maybe, or something else. He said he would report back. I then called the local number, got someone in another state and they said they will arrange a visit. I said great how about next week. She said the system won't allow that and now I have a scheduled appt for a day I won't be here. It's pretty sorry that the service rep was unable to adjust the date for when I will be here, and even more sorry I can't reach my local Tru Green office and talk to someone live vs. having to use Yelp as my local communication outreach. Honestly couldn't be more dissaponuted in a service. Hired TruGreen to help me take care of my lawn and they ended up making 60% of it start dying after 3 service trips (one of which was free due to the lack of results in weed treatment.) Oh, and let's mention 90% of it was alive and well before they came out- just had a forest of weeds (brand new lawn) Called to cancel, and I don't think they could have cared any less about losing a customer. For this I was Charged $68 Complained, was promised a "free" reapplication om 1/17/2023. Tech sprayed only the first 10 feet of my front lawn, and didn't even bother with the south side of my house. On the first visit, the tech sprayed my lawn with something that turned it yellow. I followed all instructions (water in, stay off lawn) etc. The tech did not tell me that this was going to happen, only told me when I contacted him about it. Are your techs not trained is setting proper expectations. He says it's normal and will green back up, but when I called the main office, they said it was not normal and would schedule a revisit. When no one arrived I called and was told it was cancelled and rescheduled for days out. I advised that I needed a manager to call me or come to the house. I was assured one of the two would occur. Of course, no phone call, no visit from a manager, called the office and it was closed. So now I am really pissed off. Who dropped the ball there, the phone agent or the manager? So to sum it up, you messed up, your tech tried to cover his tracks, you did not treat the issue as a priority,you did not call me when I was assured someone would and my lawn remains yellow while lawns next door are untreated and nice and green. What can you do? Nothing. You lost a customer and this experience will be posted on Google, yelp, Facebook and Twitter. I am hiring someone else to fix your mess. read more

We just had our entire home sprayed with pesticide intended for a neighbor's yard. We were home, and because nobody knocked on our door to inform us of their presence we didn't have the chance to explain that they were at the wrong house. I have had Trugreen service for over two years in hope to control weeds, pests and increase the turf coverage of St. Augustine. Understanding there has been watering issues in the area does not account for how terrible my yard looks. over 90% of my yard coverage is various types of weeds, and after canceling the service, I took to removing by hand, all weeds in my front yard. so now, 90% of my front yard is dirt with few small patches of actual viable grass. I had pretty much most services they provide, weed control, fertilizing, aerate, and pest control. This was a substantial amount of money paid to look at dirt and still do all the work myself. Go local or do the job yourself, TruGreen is not the answer. Maybe they were using placebo blends, who knows. But it was expensive. read more

Paid for an entire year of service up front last year: 1. No progress on lawn whatsoever, at any point 2. They would routinely skip the back yard. When I watched them race off without doing the back yard, I called to complain. They tried to say the back wasn't included in the contract, but it was. Still, each different associate seemed to have a difference interpretation of this. 3. Called and complained multiple times. Was told a manager would visit. They never did 4. At end of the year, after no progress whatsoever with the lawn or weeds, I asked for a refund. Was told that their "Guarantee" isn't really a money back guarantee, but rather that they would keep spraying til they got it right. They sent someone once, and again offered to send a manager. No manager ever called or came. 5. They showed up again recently, and billed my credit card $76.35 for another service beyond the original year contract 6. I called and demanded a refund, and to stop sending people to my place. I don't authorize any further service or billing. They said they'd refund. 7. 10 days later, had to call again to demand a refund, and this time an email verification. "Looks like the last person didn't process the actual refund..." TruGreen isn't welcome on my property, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Just awful, awful actual treatment service, bull crap "guarantee," and utterly NONEXISTENT customer service. Update: After 10 more business days, customer service acknowledges no refunds have been processed. Someone from TruGreen replied to this review asking to direct message them for a refund, which isn't a feature on here. Their local number goes to a broader customer service phone center. Last year I had them for lawn care. Paid for a year--no change to speak of. During the summer I signed up for Mosquito Treatments, too. They seemed to work reasonably well. I dropped them for lawn care, found someone else who cares--lawn looking much better this year (thank you L.D.) Twice now, in the middle of summer mosquito season, TruGreen has scheduled appointments, indicated they were "on their way!" only to watch the app change throughout the day, finally ending with the first time, a no show with no future date. I called and they rescheduled for one week later. Today, the app slipped all afternoon, until at 7:30pm tonight it moved it to tomorrow. Who really knows? I called to cancel services--no answer--phone line closed until tomorrow. You are asking for poor service if you choose these people. Never again. read more
