Cancellation is painful - I Just called to cancel and customer service representative insisted on having me go through her list of reasons for wanting to discontinue and giving a sales pitch/rebuttal after answer. I would give a Zero if possible. His company only cared about having my credit card on file. Technicians did not show up when scheduled. Asked to have a local mgr call me if they were sincere in wanting to keep my acct. Never got that call. This is a churn and burn company in my opinion. They will never call. TG put equipment on our lawn a day after we experienced record rainfall. Their equipment sank into our soaked lawn, they created deep ruts, and left holes where their equipment got stuck. That's bad enough, but their customer service (or lack there of) made matters worse - even though their tech acknowledged he had damaged our lawn. There is no way to speak to anybody local - all calls roll to their national call center. Long wait times to speak to somebody who has no power/authority to get anything done. All I wanted was a call from a local service manager to discuss how/when they would fix the damage. I never got that. Instead, I ended up renting equipment and fixing the lawn myself. I don't know if I can prove the connection, but shortly after injecting 3 ash trees, the trees lost their bark. Different departments and none knows what the other is doing. read more

I don't have TruGreen's lawn service, yet they decided to spray my lawn with a pesticide a couple of days ago. I didn't notice until a few days later that the signs at the edge of the yard were actually for our yard as I have never had a lawn service. I have a dog that is out in the yard with all of his toys and he is laying in the chemicals and eating the grass and playing with chemical soaked toys. Our dog brings the chemicals into the house where my kids are petting him and getting chemicals all over them. I don't trust anything in the garden any more. Called customer service but no call back after two days. Generally pissed that they can spray chemicals on my property with no notification or admission or correction of their error. read more

I called their 800 number to for an estimate of how much it would cost for services. At first it seemed promising, rep was nice, prices were a little higher than local competitors but was worth it according to other reviews I found online. After receiving a quote and description of what they would do at each service, I told the rep I'd have to speak with my wife first to review the cost, etc. All of sudden the rep did a 180 and started become aggressive. He started asking what would it take for me to sign up today. I had mentioned the price was reasonable so he asked if I knew that my yard needed attention and price was good then "what's the problem with signing up today" (his exact words). Of course, all of this started making me feel uncomfortable, agitated, annoyed...I kept telling him I'll call him back after speaking with my wife. And to be honest, I was really leaning towards TruGreen until this call. At the end the rep asked if I had anymore questions (still didn't answer me about his phone#), I said no then he just hung up, not even a thank for calling or anything. Summary: Received great and promising service until I didn't sign up immediately that day then the rep became angry and pushy. read more

I am currently looking for a lawn service company to replace the one I have used for several years. This is just based on results. Years ago, I had contacted TruGreen and ran as fast as I could away from them based on their telephone sales person. He asked if my lawn needed service, I said yes, he asked me what does it matter what it costs.....he would not give me a price, yet still pressed me to sign up.....really? Since I was looking, I pulled up TruGreen and was not surprised to read reviews indicating the same high pressure, low professionalism tactics were still being experienced by others. Missed a lot of weeds, lots of dead spots. I cancelled them last year after service not improving, then they applied an application this year, called and cancelled again, then today I get a notification they will be out for an application tomorrow. I HAD TO CANCEL FOR A THIRD TIME!!!!! read more

For some reason, they are posting this for San Francisco, CA., but it is in Green Bay, WI. Like most people, I only make these when something goes wrong. I have had TruGreen for several years and in one year my lawn went from unbearable to look at, to great. I couldn't believe it only took one year. However, today, things went wrong. We have a fenced in area in our back yard that is for our dogs and from day one we have had a note in our record stating NO SERVICE in that area. Well, today, it happened. My wife came out and noticed them leaving the back area which they had serviced. I immediately called and said this is unacceptable. We have a note in our record and we want them to come out and take care of this today. They claimed they did not have a note in the record. This is untrue as we have had them for years. Then she said she would put the record in. My response was "For what? Didn't work this time." I then asked to speak to a manager and she wouldn't agree to this until I really demanded it. However, she said she would have to have them call me back and I told her 48 hours won't work. I want to speak to someone today and have them come out and get this off that area. I don't want my dogs in that area until it is washed out or removed or whatever they need to do to get it off of there. 7 hours later and no call. This is frustrating because they do a good job, but my dogs are first and they clearly don't see that. I will have to move onto a different lawn care specialist. read more

We are selling our house and used TruGreen last year to get our yard looking green. This year it is every thing but green. We had them seed the yard and all you can see this year are bare spots all over. Our lawn is the worse lawn in the neighborhood and all of them did not use TruGreen. If there was a negative star I would have choose that one. They came back this year to look at our lawn and said it is still dormmate and has not woken up yet. I don't know what alarm clock the neighbors used but all of their lawns are awake, green and look great. read more
