PROs: (1) Colleen did an impressive job creating a 3D landscape design. We outlined our requirements in an email, which she captured perfectly in her 1st draft design. Then during a live Zoom call to review the design, she listened intently to our feedback and incorporated that into the final design. I would give Colleen a 5-star rating. (2) Earthscape subcontracted the landscape irrigation to Wolverine. Wolverine's quality of service was excellent in terms of proactive communication for scheduling and education in how to use the Rain Bird system. We would HIGHLY recommend Wolverine and give them 5 stars. (3) The sod and the maple tree in our front yard met our expectations. Looks beautiful! (4) The Earthscape crew is hardworking and the installation goes quickly when they are on site. CONs: (1) Poor follow-thru and lack of proactive communication about the sequence of events and the schedule. You will end up doing the follow-up feeling like you're pulling teeth to get an answer. (2) Unclear which subcontractors we were supposed to arrange, and which ones Earthscape will arrange. (a) Found out last-minute that we were to have contacted our own electrician to provide wiring for the irrigation system. This cost is extra beyond Earthscape's quote. And because this was not proactively communicated to us, resulted in a delay to the overall schedule. (b) Was given a direct invoice by Wolverine whose costs were supposed to be covered in Earthscape's quote. (3) The 3D landscape design shows fully mature plants and coverage. What you actually get is a seedling or sprout that will take years to mature. As novice homeowners, we wished this expectation had been explained up front, or given the option to plant more mature plants. (4) Other neighbors who had contracted different landscapers showed us diagrams and documentation they received about what plants were installed where and how to maintain them. We had not received anything like that, so we had to request it 3 times. Originally requested in July, after 2 more prompts, received it in late September.

Thanks…read moreto what I suspect is the power of a Yelp review, I received call not 12 hours later from Rob asking if he could come out and install the new sod the next day (today). I was ok with that because I wanted the yard to look nice for the holiday. This morning he called and said he couldn't get sod today because it had rained and it was too wet to cut it out. He could do it next week some time. Wanting grass along the house and realizing I wouldn't have it be the weekend, I asked if they could seed the area with grass. He quoted me a reasonable price and said he would have someone out in an hour. Paul and Jacob showed up within the hour. They prepared the site and seeded the area. They apologized for the lack of communication explaining that they were very busy as this was the first week the weather was good enough to plant grass. They were nice enough to seed another small area at no extra cost. The two men were very informative, polite, and knowledgeable. They told me everything I needed to do to care for the new lawn. They also said they would check back in a couple weeks to see how the new lawn was coming along. This job came with a satisfaction guarantee. I will be skeptical, but would use them again if there is an occasion. I would request Paul and Jacob to do the work.

He showed me the causes and effects of different situations when it comes to landscape. Although I can't say that I like Rob, he does what he has to do. The way that turf pro works is they do the more business properties before the residential. The reason that they might not have made it to you is because they have a lot of properties to finish with a lot of grass or snow. You will defiantly get work done faster if you own a business and you pay good money because it is money well spent.

Finally showed up two weeks after the start date at 11 am, left at 3 pm, then sporadically showed up between 10 and 11 am for the rest of the weeks it took them, some days not showing up at all, never the same crew (sometimes just one person). Always left by 3 pm. We were constantly having to go behind them and get them to fix something they screwed up, and they had an excuse for everything. They even tried blaming some of their mistakes on us? We spent nearly $40k on what ended up being a below-average job, full of shortcuts with poor quality craftsmanship. I don't care what they come back with, we haven't exaggerated anything.

Toward the end of the summer of 2025, it appeared that the quality of the service began too deteriorate. That trend appeared to continue this summer to the point that, in our opinion, the quality of the service was poor and some services that I understood would be included were not being provided at all. Additionally, it also appeared to me that OE damaged some newly seeded area in our lawn although they did not accept responsibility. It got to the point that many of the services we understood would be provided other than the basic mowing were "not included". After we made multiple good faith efforts to resolve these issues, OE not only declined to continue to provide lawn care services but threatened to sue us. Fortunately, we were able to replace OE within 2 hours at a lower price; so far that service has exceeded expectations! Interestingly, we notice that a neighbor that used OE and recommended them to us is no longer using them.
