I am currently seeing Dr. Tantisira for CO2 laser treatments for 18 year old scars on my arm, 2.5 inches in length. I was initially worried about the age of my scars and if this particular treatment would yield any discernible difference in them. Dr. Tantisira was transparent about what I could realistically expect from the treatments. For example, complete and total removal may not be attainable, but the treatment will help the appearance and essentially disguise them better. I have had two treatments and there has been a clear and notable difference, which has been corroborated by others as well. She also explained that it takes a few months for the skin to return to normal (e.g., redness) and that the quality will improve as time passes. I had an eye infection and needed to see an optometrist pronto. I was able to make an appointment with Dr. Tantisira although I would be a new patient. I had to go during my lunch break and her office was conveniently located for me to be able to rush in and rush out. After filling out new patient forms for a doctor I knew I would not be back to, I waited only a short time before a nurse called me in. The questioning was a little redundant and even more so when the doctor came in, but I was given a prescription and was out the door within an hour. I noticed she has a lot of promotional advertisements for botox, which got me thinking. 1) how are optometrists allowed to inject toxins into your face? 2) I would feel better going to a cosmetic doctor or someone who specializes in shooting botulinum toxin into my body. I was just perplexed. People come to see optometrists for botox?! WTH. It has nothing to do with your vision.... Anyways, I parked on the street, but I noticed there is a private lot (and I'm not sure how much it costs). Although Dr. Tantisira was friendly and her office was clean, I won't be back. On August 25th/2021, I paid for a cosmetic procedure with Melanie Tantisira,MD. The cosmetic procedure was Instalift. I had the procedure, and after the follow-ups, the physician told me she would re-do the eyebrow lift because it did not work at all. On the day of the eyebrow lift second time (October 19th), she sold me fillers. Melaine Tantisira, MD applied the filler on the same day I had the eyebrow Instalift. The next morning, I thought my face looked strange and I emailed pictures. Her assistant called me saying that it was swelling from the eyebrow lift. Two weeks later, she said that I had too much swelling and gave me medication for the swelling. Two more weeks, my face looked like a monster with bumps under my eyes from the excess of filler. During the follow-up visit, she told me that I had a rare allergic reaction, which is not true because I had fillers before. I had three visits with Dr. Tantisira to dissolve the fillers. I asked her to remove all the filler from my face, and during the last visit, I got a bruising on my face. I also found that I had filler inside my mouth. That filler was supposed to fill the smiling wrinkle and end up making a bubble inside my mouth. I consulted with another professional who told me that Dr. Tantisira did not apply the filler properly. The fillers were applied too superficially, and for this reason, I had a blueish color around my eyes, a bump under my eyes, and a big lump popping up every time I smiled (the other professional documented it). The filler that went inside my mouth sounds like a joke but is real. For the Instalift on my eyebrow, I got one eyebrow more lifted than the other one. I asked her what happened, and she told me that it is the way I heal and it is ok because most people are asymmetrical in their faces. In summary, I trusted Melanie Tantisira,MD, so badly that I spent more than 10,000 dollars on cosmetic procedures at her office. When the Instalift at my eyebrow did not work, I trusted she would get things done right the second time, and I also paid for the fillers. For every follow-up, she gave me a senseless excuse. The last time, she told me that it was my "energy" that did not work with her office, and everything I received from her office did not work. I spent more than 10,000 dollars to hear a "voodoo" explanation from an incompetent physician. I asked her for a refund for the procedures that did not work because I am going to another office to get it done right. She offered less money than I paid and tried to give me a contract to sign, saying that I could not do a bad review about the services I received. So, I am writing this review to alert anyone who wants to buy cosmetic procedures from her. She is qualified to do the services, but she is incompetent. And she knows that she failed because she asked me to sign that paper. I checked her reviews before, and all the good reviews are about her services as an Ophthalmologist, and those reviews misled me. I am writing this review because no one deserves to spend a lot of money to look deformed after cosmetic procedures and waste time with many follow-ups. read more

A few weeks ago, I had my first experience with fillers. The circles under my eyes have been the bane of my existence, they were bad even when I was a kid who got enough sleep on a daily basis... fast forward to my mid-thirties and they had become way worse with age and many nights of sleep deficit. I've been researching under eye fillers for a while now, but I was too afraid to go for it because the eye is a very delicate area. Finally, I decided to call Dr Melanie at True Vision after doing some googling and yelping to schedule a consultation to find out more. First of all, her support staff are very kind and professional from the initial phone call. At the beginning of the consult, the assistant brought me back to take a few photos and talk a little bit about what I was looking to do. I can't remember her name, but she was a nice girl from Texas. Secondly, Dr Melanie came in and I was very pleased with her demeanor and bedside manner. She really put me at ease, and explained things very thoroughly. She gave me the impression that she was in no hurry to see other patients, and that really impressed me. After talking it over with her, I decided to go ahead and do a syringe of Restylane under the eyes. She numbed me, and she put a lot of care and time into injecting the filler. I hardly felt it at all! I could see results immediately, though it became quite swollen shortly after that. But no bruising! Overall I am happy with the improvement in the depth of my eye circles, though I think next time I'd probably get another half syringe so I can get full correction. And there is a slightly raised line under my right eye that hasn't gone away yet. They've pushed it down in a follow up appointment, but it showed back up (though a little less) a few hours later. Hopefully with time and patience it will resolve. But I would definitely recommend doing your facial fillers here! read more

Doctor and staff are friendly but that's the only good thing I can say about the whole experience, from the eye exam (almost got into a bike accident leaving the office because of the product she put in my eyes, I couldn't see properly) to the lenses (correction AND tinting were unsatisfactory) to the staff knowledge (cannot answer questions about vision correction) to the billing (they made errors with the insurance and kept sending me overcharges, corrected after the third time I went there). She might be good at cosmetic surgery but I've been to 5 ophtalmologists in my life and this place was a total disaster. And I had chosen it because of the yelp 5 star reviews! (but i guess the reviews are for the cosmetic part, which is really weird to me in the first place that an ophtalmologist would do this, but what do i know) read more

I'm seriously so bummed out I don't live in Oahu anymore, because it is time for my tear trough fillers and I have not found a med spa as good as True Vision! I've seen Dr. Tantisira for botox for crows feet and eye brow lift, as well as fillers for smile lines and hallowed out under -eye area that makes me look super tired. I've been to two other med spas on Oahu but had little or no results, and was told to come back for more. When I found Dr. Tantisira I rejoiced!!! She may charge a little more than the other med spas in Honolulu, but she is worth it and will save you money in the long run. Her products are super potent, so she didn't have to use as much as the other spas. One place pumped me with 40 units of Botox and I still never saw any eyebrow lift..Dr. Tantisira did the whole eye correction for about 32 units of botox. She was also able to correct my sunken in tear troughs and I swear it lasted for like, three years. Not only are her products super effective, she is a surgeon and artist. She has a very good eye at creating symmetry and nothing that concerns you is too small or trivial for her. She and her staff are very professional, respectful and courteous. They take their time to listen to your concerns. I've tried to find a med spa as sufficient and excellent as True Vision in California. I've gone to three different places now in Chico, California and one place in Los Angeles and have not found anyone who is able to lift this eye lid or correct this tear trough like she does!
