Joe arrived, assessed the required work, and presented a quote that was almost $200 more than the previous work performed 10 months ago for virtually the same thing! I asked about a 1st responder discount and he said he'll waive the tax. There was no mention or consideration of the 15% discount. He also stated that they should've charged more for the previous work. In my opinion, this is nothing more than the old bait and switch con. They don't stand behind their word. It was a large tree with a very wide trunk, which was hollow at a part of it. The owner came out to look at it and talk to me about the removal. The crew showed up on time and knew what they were doing! Because there is not much space between homes, they had to use a crane to pick up the pieces of the tree and the crane to take these parts safely over our home. The equipment to grind the stump also had to be taken over the home. Safety was excellent, communication was excellent, value was good, and everyone was professional. I will use this company again. One of their arborists came out and reviewed the tree and recommended removal and was beyond saving. I was sad to see it have to go, but it was going to be danger soon as the disease progressed. They even gave me recommendations on replacement trees that would be more hardy in the future. They made it out the same day to quote and cut it down. It took them about an hour to take down a 30 foot tall maple tree. They also ground down the stump. The area was cleaned up and the mulch spread out.
