True Rest is so relaxing. The staff is helpful and friendly. I have done two floats that were an hour apiece. They help with my joint pain

The atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. Every person we encountered was friendly and helpful. The float itself was great.

Came back to True REST Float Spa on Ledgestone Way, Cary this past weekend. I go there to…read moredecompress, and it delivers every time. There's something disarming about floating. About removing every demand from your body at once. No resistance. No effort. Just stillness. An hour of that does more than most people expect. The space itself is consistent in the best way. Clean, quiet, nothing out of place. It doesn't try too hard to feel like a spa. It just does. Gemma was working the day I came in. She's the kind of person who makes a place feel like it belongs to her. Not in a territorial way, but in the way that good hosts do. Calm, attentive, unhurried. She walked me through my options without overselling anything, and that restraint says something. It meant I trusted what she said. There are very few places that actually deliver on the promise of stress relief. True REST does. I'll keep going back for exactly that reason.

The float experience helped me feel refreshed, clear-headed, and less tense. After my first visit, I purchased a membership because I knew I wanted to make this part of my regular self-care routine. Tip for those with textured hair: bring your own haircare products. The salt water can affect your hair texture, so using products that work best for you will help you leave feeling your best. Right now there is a Groupon available and also a $30 off promotion, which makes it a great time to try it. Highly recommend.

I first heard about a float spa from a Triangle Instagrammer who shared her experience prior to…read morethis spot opening. I live with PTSD and am always open to new things that could potentially alleviate some of the symptoms. So off to Holly Springs I went! I booked my appointment online and they seem to have good hours into the evening and on weekends. You check in at the desk, answer some form questions and then get a tour. The staffer explains how everything works and you go to your room. You must shower before getting into the water so body oils, hair products, etc. don't dirty the water. The float tank was definitely a new and surreal experience. You must convince your body/muscles that they don't need to work to keep you afloat. Let go of trying to control everything and let your body bump into the sides of the tank. I had to experiment with a few positions for my arms before I found one that was most comfortable. I'd say it took me about 45 minutes (out of 60) to really chill out. I ended up turning all the lights off, even outside the tank, because they were distracting. No music for me either. (You have full control over both) I would have gone into the relaxation room afterwards for some tea but I didn't want to #COVIDandChill with three women not wearing masks (frustrating since 2 of them weren't paying customers but waited on someone). The room was clean (though there was a hair floating in the water when I got in), the shampoo and shower gel smelled nice, and had everything you needed (towel, ear plugs, Vaseline for any cuts so the salt doesn't burn). Two things I didn't like: One, none of the three women or the employee wore masks. I was pretty taken aback at that, especially the person working. When I left, there had been a shift change and that woman wasn't wearing a mask either. Disappointing. Second, the spa is next door to a Dunkin Donuts. A group of teenagers were hanging out together. The sound really carried into the room I was in (room 1 FYI) and made relaxing difficult. To fully block out the noise I had to get rid of the neck pillow and fully submerge my head to above my ears so I couldn't hear them and their ongoing curse words. In summary, I'd give it another try to see if I can relax more quickly the second time. However, being around people - employees - with no masks was a big turnoff. This new business should be doing all it can to protect new clients regardless of the anti-vax sentiment in that community.

You can add on a massage to your float but we did not. According to the website there are a lot of benefits to a float. When you arrive you get your own private room with a shower and pod. You shower before and after the float. There is light music and a water light available inside the pod. It was neat to experience but I would opt for a 30 minute float next time.
