Five stars for the massage therapists, I had an excellent massage here focused on my concerns. The room was quiet and very relaxing. The spa itself has an interesting set up with everything in one main room which does not allow for much of a private experience, but the prices were reasonable. Three stars for the logistics/process of scheduling, checking in and payment. We could not book two massages simultaneously online (nor could we book a couples massage), it took a while to check in and be taken to our changing room. Furthermore, it took more than 25 minutes to check out while we stood at the check in desk, even though they had our card on file, and ultimately we had to leave (I had to go to work) and they called about 30 minutes later to tell us they had finally processed the payment. The massage was great, though overall the experience was dampened by the inefficiency in head of the spa staff. read more

I saw BR3 in a Yelp weekly email and told my coworker Maggie about it. She signed up for a float therapy session and said it was amazing so I decided to give it a try as well! I showed up about 10 minutes prior to my session and was shown to my private room which consisted of a shower with beautiful stone floors and the float tank! All the accessories you needed were there - robe, towels, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, ear plugs, vasoline (I quickly found out where the random cuts were once I got in the salt water) and a head pillow. I showered and got into the tank. There's a button in the tank that controls the lights so you can change the color of the mood lights or turn them off completely. There also is an Alexa that can play music if you want. I scheduled a 90 minute session and it went by really quickly. I get really anxious and can't sit still but it was really relaxing and I want to do it again! I was offered a cup of tea after my hot shower afterwards. The studio is beautiful! They offer other services such as cryotherapy, oxygen therapy, infrared saunas etc.... so I'm definitely looking forward to coming back sometime and checking out what else they have to offer! read more

Now I'm not really a spa guy. Every now and then I'll spring for a massage but it's not a regular occurrence. But I was curious when I spotted a GroupOn for flotation therapy at BR3! I had heard about it in other major cities but this was the first time I'd seen it offered in the Triangle. Welp, the only way to find out is to try it so, click: I'm in! BR3 is in a newish building near Southpoint. Modern with high ceilings, I'm led to my flotation room by one of the employees. Inside there's a nice and clean changing area, shower area and a large float tank (about 15" deep) filled with warm epsom salts. You shower before hopping in and once in the tank, can peacefully float on top for about 50 minutes. You've got music (if you want), mood lighting (if you want) and it's all pretty soothing. Just don't get any of that saltwater in your eyes, it'll sting. All in all it's really relaxing and my body felt super loose after getting out. Beyond the flotation therapy, BR3 offers cryotherapy, infrared sauna and some other modern treatments. It seems like a good option for more serious athletes but I was happy to visit. I'll be back at least one more time for my second session but now I'll know what to expect... read more

Service Dog Denied Access: At 10:50 am August 6th 2022 I am an Army veteran who served 6 combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan and spent over a decade of my life fighting for the freedom of the American people. Today, my fiancé and I were denied access to BR3 where we come monthly to get a massage for my fibromyalgia and chronic pain-injuries incurred from serving and defending our great nation. When we arrived, our massage therapist receives a phone call from the owner, Jessica. The owner refused entrance even after the therapist stated my dog is a "service dog". The owner was not even present and did not attempt to make contact with me to resolve the issue but told her employee Jill, that we cannot stay. Had we left, they would have charged us for our sessions which amounts to $210. We didn't want to lose the money so took turns waiting outside in the hot NC sun. Per Department of Justice Federal Law, Under the ADA, State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is allowed to go. Per federal law, allergies and fear of dogs are not valid reasons for denying access or refusing service to people using service animals. When a person who is allergic to dog dander and a person who uses a service animal must spend time in the same room or facility, for example, in a school classroom or at a homeless shelter, they both should be accommodated by assigning them, if possible, to different locations within the room or different rooms in the facility. A person with a disability cannot be asked to remove his service animal from the premises unless: (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken. When there is a legitimate reason to ask that a service animal be removed, staff must offer the person with the disability the opportunity to obtain goods or services without the animal's presence. Furthermore, according to the ADA, a Service Dog is not required to be outfitted with a vest or any type of identifying gear. We opted not to put a vest of my service dog today because it's so hot! I told them I had his ID but the owner still refused us. I will be filing a complaint with the Deparmtent of Justice, BBB, and hiring an attorney. Just because I don't look like I have a physical disbailtiy doesn't mean I don't have one. I sustained traumatic brain injury after being blown off a truck due to impact of a rocket blast in Iraq. My service dog gets help when I lose feeling in my left leg and collapse. It's sad to know people are clouded by their perosnal biases that they lose sight of doing what is "right". I get it; this is a business establishment and they want to make money. But if this was the owners own child with a disability needing a service dog; I bet she wouldn't think twice. I sincerely believe people aren't educated enough on the laws surrounding service animals but I was willing to provide her knowledge. Except, she could care less. More and more businesses are struggling to keep up in the areas of inclusivity and equity. This owner won't sustain if she remains to be apathetic to her customers. I made an effort to be comprising and to handle this at the lowest level possible but she did not care. My dog Tony and I go everywhere together: Ride the airplane, dental office, hospitals, restaurants, stores, amusement parks, etc.. This is our first time being refused and denied public access and it's really disappointing. On the contrary, Jill-the massage therapist is AMAZING!!!!!! I hope she can open her own business someday and I will recommend her to ALL people, not just people without disabilities needing a service animal. I was gifted a few floats through Groupon. I liked how I could easily schedule online. When I arrived I had to wait a few minutes before a staff member came to the front (not a huge deal), but it seemed like they only had one girl working. Once I was checked in, the same girl started cleaning the floors in the 2 float rooms. I was a little surprised that hadn't been done before I arrived, but maybe that's normal if they have back to back floats? My appointment time was for 11:45, and I probably entered the actual float room around 12. There was another person scheduled at the same time for a float, so the staff member gave us the tour together. She covered all the important details, but seemed a bit all over the place (maybe they were busy and she was overwhelmed?). Some fun things about the float: - you can use Alexa before you enter the float tank to play any music for your entire float - you can adjust the lights in the tank to different colors or just have them entirely off - they provide a nekdoodle. I did try to float without it for a small amount of time, but it was definitely better with it. I think my neck would have been sore after an hour without it! - not sure if it's all the salt...but I was not all pruny after! Some things you may want to know before the float: - it's recommended to wear earplugs which are provided because of the high salt concentration - they provide Vaseline if you have any cuts. USE IT if you have ANY cuts!!!! I didn't even realize I had a tiny cut on my ankle and it burned like hell in the beginning! - DO NOT get that water in or near your eyes, mouth, or nose or you will start choking. I touched my face and just a drop of that water burned my throat. There is a towel rack in the float room, and thankfully the staff member said to put a towel there just in case that happened...very glad I listened! - if you are female...do a little research on float tanks before you go! I was 4 months postpartum and my hooha was burning Apparently it can be normal, but uhhh that might have been something to know up front. It wasn't excruciating, but enough that I had a hard time relaxing. - the float tank is very humid, I'd relate it to a steam room, where it can be stuffy. - you are only in a few feet of water. For some reason I was picturing waste high water. - you won't have any issues floating...it's pretty amazing how all the salt just keeps you on top of the water! One thing I wish they had was a mirror in the floatation room. After getting out, rinsing off, and getting dressed...I would have liked to see how terrible I looked before stepping out into the lobby! I know they have mirrors in the bathroom, but you still have to enter the lobby and see other people before going to the bathroom! read more

I was introduced to BR3 through a Yelp event and after seeing all they had to offer I knew I had to head back in. I got my husband and I a couple's float and we also spent time in the sauna. I'm not usually a big sauna person, but I really enjoyed it here. It's infrared so it definitely creates a different atmosphere than say a steam sauna and you get it to yourself. I brought a magazine in and enjoyed my sweat. Next up was our float! The float rooms are clean and well thought out. You can control everything from the color lights to the music. There is something like 1,000 pounds of salt in there. I really loved the float and was able to relax and just chill, my husband on the other hand got super antsy. The float may not be for everyone, but I highly recommend giving it a try if you want to relax your muscles and zen out. After your float you can shower in the same room to get all the salt off of you. The shower had great pressure and stayed nice and hot. They provide you with body wash and shampoo. My only feedback would be to add in some conditioner and disposal hair brushes to the float room to really complete the spa experience. The staff here is so friendly and warm. They really make your experience that much better! The whole space is well thought out and designed. From the waiting room to the float rooms you feel relaxed in every corner. oh man, I love this place! I've done flotation therapy on the west coast and so was thrilled to see this place open in the Triangle. It definitely matched my expectations. If you haven't tried sensory deprivation/flotation, you are missing out on one of the best physical and psychological therapies for busy, active people. Forget claustrophobic pods; this place has big flotation rooms. Don't worry, you can fully stand up when getting in and stretch out while floating. I went in for my birthday today and was warmly greeted by Leon (one of the two awesome owners). She is professional and friendly and gave me all the necessary instructions and then left me to enjoy. The flotation tank room was immaculately clean, well-designed, well-lit and warm. they even have an Alexa in there so you can adjust lighting and music by voice. They provide the earplugs, neck rest, towels and shampoo and body wash. I'd recommend bringing your comb, conditioner and lotion for afterwards. The owners generously gave me a gift card for my birthday so I could come back for a cryo/sauna session. I will definitely be back for that and more floating. read more

I have been going to Br3 for the infrared saunas for several months. I pay monthly and go several times a week. It has improved my health tremendously. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Jessica and Leon make sure that everyone that works at BR3 makes everyone's visit soothing and relaxing. They make sure that my privacy is respected and they make an effort to clean spic and span. An excellent float experience. I've done sensory deprivation on the west coast at a Float spa in Pasadena and until recently the Triangle area didn't have much to offer in terms of float spas. I was looking for stuff to do to treat myself on my birthday this year and discovered bR3 had opened up very close by. They have a very easy website when it comes to signing up for a float appointment. You can do it all through their website without even having to call into the place. I booked a Sunday morning float appointment for 60 minutes. From what I could tell on the website it was a very similar experience to the float spa I had gone to out in California. The sensory deprivation tanks were more like the float rooms where you walk in and lay down instead of the pods which can seem a bit claustrophobic. It's a spa like setting so you have your own private room with a shower to use before hand. This facility offers you the choice to leave the lights on during your float session. You can have very dim colored lights on at the time of your float session or turn them off. I go for lights off, total darkness, but it's nice they offer the lighted experience for those who might be a bit nervous about the experience. The float spa itself was very nice, clean and exactly what I was expecting and wanting. In this day of devices and constant connections it's great to find time to totally turn everything off and reset. Sensory deprivation is something I'd encourage those who are apprehensive to experience, especially in a setting like this. Highly recommended and will hopefully return soon. read more

What an interesting concept... float therapy. I was intrigued...total relaxation of the muscles suspended in salt water that makes you float like the Dead Sea. The room was small with a changing section, shower and door to your own float room. It's not a pod like other float therapies but a room with changing lights and music that you can take or leave. I used the neck float bc I wasn't a fan of the water in my ears so I felt like I wasn't 100% relaxed. The smell reminded me of a hot tub or pool, chlorinated which I wasn't a fan of. The experience was interesting and I found myself struggling to relax a bit...moreso due to my overactive brain so i tried to breathe and meditate the hour away. I ended up getting out before the lights came back on...It was a good experience, but I probably wouldn't do this again for the price. My husband said he would do it again (he had an appt after me), so I think it just wasn't for me. read more

This place was astonishing when I walked in. It's this small spa place that you would not have notice. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about the services that they offered. They were also very nice and caring about the customers and tried to answer all questions and to make sure the customers are happy and well treated. The sauna area is so unique. It's in this small enclosed area where it looks like you are in a garden.
