I realized while I was having some electrical work done, that 1 room was not cleaned out and was…read more missed completely! 70 yr old insulation and debris fell out. I should have gone with my instinct and insisted they use an extension hose as the one they had did not reach into the ceiling of all rooms...the insulation was being pulled manually and placed in the vaccuum in some rooms with debris and 70 yr old dust going everywhere. Price was originally 4800.00 To make matters worse, I was charged an additional 550.00 because they had to cut "extra holes" in my kitchen to "reach extra sections". I felt bad for the guys because it was a messy job and it was hot inside and outside! I tipped them $250 each !!! Omg. They did not suit up or get in the crawl space as shoen on the website. They Just wore masks. Carbon monoxide was all over my house during the day, my carbon monoxide was going off all afternoon.... so much to where it would not stop all night. The fire dept came out and immediately had to shut off the gas. Readings were so high, they ordered me out of my house! All windows and doors had to be open on a rainy night with mosquitos and flys flying in. Cps were called by the Fire Dept, they did a full check and levels were still so high, I had to stay outside until it was safe to go back inside, 45 minutes later. I had a headache that night and all the next day. Note: (When I told the owner that evening upon "the completion" of my insulation, that my carbon monoxide detector wouldnt stop beeping, he DID tell me to call the fire dept which I did......that was a good thing!!!) Did the attic guys work hard? Yes. Isit a messy job? Yes Do I have a good heart? Yes. However, ............ please dont mistake niceness for weakness. NOTE: Make sure eveeything you are promised is in WRITING. IF THE MANAGER SAYS HE IS GOING TO CHECK ON THE PROJECT AT THE END AND HE TEXTS YOU TO SAY HE IS NOT COMING BY, INSIST ON IT, AND IF YOU ARE GETTING PICTURES...OF BEFORE AND AFTER, MAKE SURE THEY ARE OF EVERY ROOM...NOT JUST MORE OF ONE OR 2 ROOMS? BUT EVERY ROOM!! Update: the owner called and offered to redo the room again. And go over any areas missed. I am declining their offer and will hire another company. 5850 for 1006 sq ft. is what I paid for too many holes in my ceiling and a near death experience with carbon monoxide scare. Our problems started in 2019-2020 when my mother wanted to update the bathroom with a different toilet. During Covid, I was nervous about this project without advice from a plumber. My dad assured me that they had replaced many toilets in the past... (it's true. However this time dad was impaired with vision loss and cognitive issues). I couldn't tell what was wrong exactly but I was one who wanted to watch YT for advice and my parents grew annoyed at the thought. After the install, I knew problems were there when the toilet wasn't maintaining water... I was ignored. "You're not a plumber" was my mothers response every passing year... Eventually, the problems were too big to ignore. The flooring and toilet started to leak. The flooring was moldy, buckling and lifting. I was worried about costs. I was worried about my mom handling this project without my dad being in charge... the plumbing issues and potential leveling issues. Mom got several estimates. Our job requires 2 contractors. A plumber and a carpenter. They work independently from each other. This review is strictly for the carpenter/flooring. Steven has great communication skills and work ethic. At the time of this review he has 5 other stellar reviews and every single one of them has nuggets of truth that could apply to us as well. He pays attention to detail. He communicates effectively and if you are uncertain about an issue he shows up promptly, responds via phone or email in a timely manner and his rates are very reasonable! My review is lengthy so I will avoid making it too long. Bottom line if you need flooring installed by a reliable, trustworthy company in the New Braunfels / Canyon Lake area, consider this one. We were very impressed with the amount of work done in such little time. It was Steven & one assistant. Once they started work, they focused and worked hard. Flooring was removed, replaced, beams, baseboards... This was not a tiny job. They completed it in two days! I do have before, during and after photos but it's on mixed media right now. A misc. note: I initially did not want to get involved in my mother's project. It was a true test to see how this project would evolve. My mother failed miserably in this task. I was only able to feel comfortable enough to intervene because Steven is personable and easy to talk to. I'm a native Houstonian. I've worked in large companies with many different group leaders in my time ~ Steven is the definition of effective TEAM leadership.
