On Monday, June 15 they came out to meet me and the realtor at the vacant house that I would be purchasing within a couple of days. I asked the technician for a couple of estimates and to al find out where the water shut off valve is located. While I was inside the house meeting with the pest control company the technician came in and asked if he could show me something. We went outside and he explained that the water shut off valve broke off when he shut off the water. He acted confused and asked what he was supposed to do indicating that he thought I should pay for them to repair their mistake. I said he needed to fix what he broke and I wasn't even the owner of the house yet and that I did not ask him to shut off the water but only to simply find where it was located. The technician went on to say that if I was going to order work on other items that they would deduct the price from the estimates of other items that I was considering. I said again this was not my problem and that they had to fix what they broke because I was not even the owner of the house yet. He then said he had to go call his boss and then he spent a long time in the car on the phone while I was waiting. We then contacted the company ourselves and explain the issue and they said they would fix it. The technician came back inside and said he couldn't fix it at that time and would have to come back. He also emailed me estimates for some of the other items I was considering. The prices that they quoted to me were absolutely ridiculous. For example for them just to install a water softener that I would go to Home Depot and purchase was $1650. Installation for a tankless hot water heater was close to $5000. When I asked him to figure out why the gas fireplace wouldn't ignite or why the Jets in the tub would not work he barely spent any time figuring that out and said they would have to come back. Based upon my experience with this company and the fact that they did not want to take responsibility for what he did which is break some thing that they were looking at an acted like I had to pay for it I would never use them. In fact please do not use this company if this is the kind of work they do. Totally incompetent and they did not want to take responsibility for their screw up. Just awful. Stay away. Update 6/28/20: The owner of the business contacted me and asked me to remove this review because they fixed the problem. I do not believe in doing that and I believe what I am seeing is truthful. Just because he fix the problem doesn't change the history of what happened. Also for reference I have since had a water softener installed for $1000 total including the softener which directly contradicts what the owner of this business claimed saying that it's very expensive to have water softeners install. A total bunch of BS profit taking nonsense. Do not use this business

I randomly selected a couple roofing companies from yelp and called Bret next. The response was super fast, before I finished leaving voice mail he already texted me back. He was able to come out the same day. He then arrived on time, inspected the damaged area and the entire roof and told me that my roof is still great and that he could get the damaged area patched up the same day. The price he quoted me was almost unfair, to him. Outside of his super reasonable pricing, I also detected honest feedback and passion to his work. I had a few more companies lined up that afternoon originally, I ended up not needing them to come out after I spoke to Bret. I'm very happy and thankful with the timely help he rendered, and I have no hesitation to reach out again when my roof or fence needs upgrade! I highly recommend Bret to everyone looking for roof service. You will not be disappointed.

Long version: Scenario - It's a freezing (sub 40 degree) day in North Texas and I'm out of town on a business trip with my wife, son and mother-in-law at our home in Flower Mound. Wife calls and says the heater is not kicking on. She calls an HVAC company who comes by checks the heater in the attic and says, the unit is working however there is a pipe that vents through the roof of the attic that seems clogged or bent, but they don't do those type of repairs and she would need to call a roof company. Frantically, I scour Yelp for a good review and find people glowing about Bret's service and I give him a call. It's late in the day on Friday and when I explain the scenario, he immediately sprung into action and helped us resolve the issue. I'm going to highlight multiple reasons why Bret, owner of Texas Pride Roofing and Fencing will always have my business for roof and fence needs for as long as I live in the DFW metroplex. 1. Promptness - When I called Bret although it was later in the day, he was willing to head to our home and check out the situation, getting to our home in a couple of hours due to the severity of the situation. 2. Honesty - He took photos of the situation and gave a fair assessment of the situation. In this instance he said, "I don't have all of the parts that I need now but I can get you up an running for today, and then come back next week after I'm able to get the parts when I can get to a supply shop" 3. Thorough - He was on the roof, in the attic, and investigating the situation from every angle. Shared photos of his assessment, and was descriptive about what he was doing. 4. Genuine - The first time he came to the house, he hopped on FaceTime to talk to me and make me feel at ease with him at the house with my wife and family. You can look at someone's eyes and know that they are being sincere, that is this guy 100% 5. Follow up - It took him coming to the house a few times to get the situation completed, and I had to ask him for an amount that I owed him. He wanted to make sure that I was satisfied before asking for money. A true stand up guy, good business man, and yes, the roof is fixed, the exhaust pipe repaired, and the heat is working. These are all pictures that Bret provided, the first four (4) showing the problem and the last two (2) showing the repaired duct work and exhaust/vent pipe Although this was not a typical roofing job, Bret went above and beyond to make sure our family was warm and comfortable. Thank you Bret, and Texas Pride Roofing and Fencing.

Since they require you be home the entire time they are working and they don't provide you a window of when they will arrive, you basically need to be available all day. They were booked months out so we were put on their wait list. I'd receive a text saying I was scheduled and if the date didn't work I'd reply "no" and be put back on the waitlist. *the person-to-person communication is basically non-existent from this point forward. When I finally had a date that worked, I received a text the day of saying they'd be arriving in 10min. At 8am that's not a lot of time to change out of my pjs! The guys knocked on the door said they'd be doing the work and could I open the gate so they could get to the backyard. I met them in the back to show them one area we were concerned about, they quickly put me at ease and said they had it. They got to work and knocked it out quick! It would have been nice if they'd have knocked on the door to let me know they were done though. I only knew they'd finished because I got an email with the bill*. I will say the quantity of sand used on the mastic was excessive. It rained 48hours after our job and the sand spread everywhere. It's a beast to clean up, especially out of the pool! A full vacuum is required - so be prepared! Master Mastic did a great job, it all looks wonderful and the color they chose matches our home perfectly. *the only item we ran into was the final bill. We used the same measurements of our pool and patio as when they'd done our home the last time, the only new measurements were our driveway. The crew that arrived said the actual measurement of our garage was less than what they'd quoted us so our final bill should go down. It didn't. When I emailed I got a curt response saying while the garage was less, somehow the other areas were more than they were last time so they actually did me a favor by not increasing the bill. I was appreciative but confused on how two areas they measured last time had someone become more this time around, I got no response. I think we would still use Master Mastic in the future because the quality and longevity of their work is good, but I'll be better prepared for the customer service.
