Strongmen Waterproofing

Strongmen Waterproofing

Just want to give a humongous shout out to Strongmen Waterproofing. You ever get tired of living in…read morea boat when you purchased a house? Well, that's pretty much what I've been experiencing in my home for years after heavy rainfall. Water would leak in my basement from many areas, putting a lot of strain on my tiny sump pump, wetting pretty much everything in sight and leaving that section of the basement difficult to utilize. The Strongmen Waterproofers work very well together, are extremely focused and knowledgeable in their trade (it's evident), attentive to detail, explain the process and products used in the installation of a perimeter drain system. Every worker on this project was punctual (as a matter of fact arrived early), personable, and introduced themselves to me before proceeding to the basement to start work. There wasn't as much noise as I was anticipating with the installation of the perimeter drain; the workers were extremely neat and conscientious about working around my property. My project was projected to take 3 days, it actually took one day and a half. It was very thoughtful of one of the workers to return to my home on a Sunday just to reconnect the washer and dryer that was disconnected and moved during the perimeter drain installation. Another instance, the owner was observed picking up small pieces of debris left in the yard, but because of the size of the debris, and the workers were so neat, it was not necessary. The outside portion of the project went just as smoothly as the inside. The grass was returned to the same trenched place it was removed. From start to finish this project went on like clockwork, the workers didn't even stop for lunch; I hope they had a big breakfast. Strongmen Waterproofing also removes and disposes of junk, which I had my share. I highly recommend Strongmen Waterproofing as their fees are reasonable, they get the job done efficiently, timely, neatly, and it's evident they enjoy what they're doing. My last words: Let it RAIN!

All worked well for 2 years, then trouble started.I had water in my basement coming from the well, called someone came the next morning,he pulled the pump out and said it was the pump I will be back or someone will call you. I've called 2 to 3 times a day and left messages to return my call, I'ts been 8 days now and no one has called me from this company. There is a 3 year warranty on this pump, and a lifetime warranty on the job itself. As I said satisfaction with the job in beginning but not now, there is no reason that they don't call me back. If I was you don't hire them for any projects plenty of others out there. Given a ooooo review

Pride's Hardwood Floor

We contracted Mike and Prides Hardwood Floor after my wife found them on the internet. Their…read morereviews, information, website, and experience was apparent from our online research. From the very first call we knew we made the right decision. For those like us who never owned a home and have no idea what a floor refinishing contractor may need and what the experience is like, here's how it worked. Mike needed a reasonable estimate of the square footage that needed to be worked on. He then clearly explained the options as far as number of layers of finish, cleaning, and service that he and his company could provide, with cost estimates at each option. Having looked at other contractors in the area, I can tell you Mike's pricing is very reasonable for what is out there in the South Shore area. He walked us through the process from start to finish - we went with a three coat poly-urethane treatment. This being our first home purchase, me in the middle of full time summer classes, working full time, and trying to coordinate home inspections, mortgage lenders, and my wife making me responsible for the floors made it a very stressful time. Mike made it simple. I left the keys under the mat for him and his guys did the work for three days straight. My aunt-in-law was able to peek inside the windows one afternoon and she immediately texted us - "your floors look amazing!" We got excited. Mike and Prides did all the work without us ever having to be there (very convenient when you're already taking too much time off work for meeting your mortgage lender, realtor, home inspector, etc) and left the key under the mat when he was done. Once we got in and saw it - we were blown away! The floors looked NEW. In fact, I remember Mike calling me at work the first day and telling me - "your floors are in real rough shape. But we're going to make them look great" - and he did. The first week with my family, in-laws, friends, and everyone stopping by our new house and without fail the first thing they always say when they come in is "your floors look incredible - are they new?" The job Mike and Prides did is unbelievable and worth every penny. I wouldn't have done it any differently. Many friends and neighbors have asked who did our floors and we've gladly spread Mike and Pride's info to all of them. The only caveat I would put out there is we got bit by the weather. They worked on the floors Monday through Wednesday, after we closed on the prior Friday (while the house was empty - that makes it so much easier) and we were to move in on the following Friday. Problem was that Thursday had a lot of rain - Mike had to leave the windows closed in fear of the moisture and water ruining the job. This was completely out of their hands and we got there early Friday before the move to open the windows and start airing it out. The smell lasted a bit through Saturday before I'd say it was all gone on Sunday. This was all explained to us upfront and reasonably handled - but I do think if you're going to get a floor redone (with Prides or someone else) you want to leave as much time as possible between when they finish and you have to move in. Overall, as the first contractors my wife and I have employed in our first house, I am extremely happy with the service I got. Mike called and texted back and forth with me immediately whenever I had questions, wanted an update, or if he had something he needed from me. If only everyone in this world was as easy to work with as him and his team, I think people would get along a lot better. I can't recommend him and his team enough.

We were able to book the work within about two weeks of reaching out. They were very communicative and completed the refinishing of the floor in the nursery in two short days with 2 coats of finish. We would definitely recommend Pride Hardwoo and we would use them again if we have need for more refinishing.

House was not clean when we moved in , we are still finding nails and other debris in the yard. Basement has leaked several times. GFI breakers have tripped from water getting in. Both interior plaster and paint were well below acceptable quality. Doors , trim , hood above stove , hanging lights and stair baluster were not installed straight. Lawn does not drain properly. Multiple pieces of trim and door thresholds have either fallen off or come loose because they were not installed properly. Had to install a $2500 water filter because of sulfer smell in water within 1 year of moving in. Fan in master bath does not operate properly. It does not clear the steam from the room and also was dripping water into bathroom. After 4-6 visits they were able to get it to stop dripping but it still doesn't clear steam. Jim has ignored requests to adjust this. Tile work in bathroom is sub par, not even close to flush. Siding is hardie plank - pre finished. When installing they ignored manufacture recommendations and caulked all butt joints, leaving me a year later with a house that looks like it got shot with a paint ball gun. Jim is slow to respond to issues if he does at all. When he does respond he generally just makes excuses and tries to convice me that his poor quality construction is normal. Needless to say , I'd avoid buying a house from him.

Great communication throughout the process, and the workers were so polite and respectful. They cleaned everything up at the end of each day and were lovely to have around. They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

First and foremost, the work done was of high quality, it looks fantastic, and we are extremely happy with the results! In addition, the overall process from design/estimates to demolition and construction was as good as it gets. The crew always showed up on time, was pleasant, worked hard, and left the work areas clean at the end of each day. One of the things that Beroli excels at is communication. Each day we always knew who would be there, what time they were arriving, and what they were going to work on. Anything unexpected or needing a decision was always brought to our attention immediately. Beroli's entire staff always gave a sense of urgency to make sure that we were happy with the results of every aspect of the project; no detail was too small. We greatly appreciate the professionalism, hard work and quality results and would not hesitate to use Beroli again on future projects or recommend them to others.
