I had planned to take my 2 year old boy for a haircut and considered going to one where he sits in a car and watches a cartoon. I didn't love the idea but I thought he may enjoy it. When I got to the children's salon it was not open. This turned out to be great! I had seen True Barbers many times driving by and thought how nice it looked - so that's where we stopped next. What a great experience we had there! My son had never had his hair cut professionally so he was unsure about things but when Barber Kenny started talking with him he loosened right up and sat perfectly in the chair for him! I was amazed. Kenny did such a nice job and the rest of the barbers on staff were so kind as well. This place is a cut above! I got my haircut here today and I will always love this place. Daawan was the one who cut my hair and washed it also. Very respectful and smooth at his cuts. I highly recommend you get your cuts by him. Now, my only dislike is the hair washing. The tub they use is very uncomfortable when they have you lay your head down while they wash your hair. I would recommend asking for something to comfort the tubs rim. Other than that, friendly for the most part. The receptionist can come off rude at times buts its not that bad. She definitely makes up for it when she offers you a drink. Its up to you in choice, but I definitely recommend this place and the barber who did my hair. read more

We moved to Carmel recently. While we got to know the area, we went to 3 other barber shops with our 4 year old, and had 3 awful experiences. Then I found Charlee at True Barbers. She is friendly, professional, and classy, just like the barber shop itself. She put my son at ease immediately, and gave him the best haircut he ever got. Chatting with her was a pleasure as well. I looked around at the other customers getting cuts - they all looked happy, and their hair looked great. These barbers all know what they're doing. Daawan Baker is the best!! I have had always had my haircut done by sports clips or some hole in the wall that provides a 7.99$ cut...well just as a advertised Daawan certainty fixed my last 7.99$ cut. He took five minutes before hand to really understand how is was that I wanted to get my cut. He was very methodical and very thorough going back through my hair multiple time to make sure it was perfect... the warm leather neck shave and beard trim were on point, as well as his whole service he provided. I want to say the costumer service I've experienced has been EXCELLENT. I have a standing appointment. But during the holidays I had to cancel for travel. Heather, the receptionist, proactively scheduled my standing appointment so I could get back in the chair upon my return. What a pleasant surprise when I saw the appointment reminder in my email! Sign on the door caught my attention. We fix 7.99 haircuts. I was just coming off one of "those haircuts" when I decided I was ready to try something different. I have never been to a real barber. So my fist time I came in without an appointment and they got me right in anyway. Carlton gave me the best haircut I've ever had and I now understand the difference between a chain haircut store that does not know what bald fade means and a real barbershop. Just moved to the north side of Indy a couple weeks ago. Was looking for a barber similar to Red's, which I frequented when I lived downtown. I tried out True Barber and was not disappointed. Said cut my hair, and did a great job. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, and they serve beer! The hair wash after the cut was complimentary. All in all, I was given better service than at Red's for less than the price I paid for just a hair cut at Red's. Would recommend. read more

I had my first cut today at True Barbers. It was a great experience especially in light of the current pandemic. Tavaris (not sure on spelling) did a great job and it turned out even better than what I had hoped for. Price was very reasonable for all that you get.
