Smith's Good Eats is one of the most popular lunch spots in Broken Bow and it isn't hard to…read moreunderstand why. We are trying to find the best burger in McCurtain County. We both ordered the House Burger and it was a very delicious burger. The accompanying fries were great too. My husband probably would not order the onion rings again as they were not to his taste. Smith's has good daily specials and the service is warm, friendly and efficient.

You can order pancakes, omelettes/eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits, and gravy, grits, bacon, sausage, ham, cup of Joe, and OJ. The staff are busy, busting each table with a small smile in hard-working attitude. You'd expect them to call you, hon, sweetheart, or get your order right sweetie. That decor/atmosphere is diner in Oklahoma feels. Breakfast is not served all day from 7 AM to 10:30 AM so we ran quickly and got there at 10:20 to order our veggie omelette with biscuits and gravy and an order short stack, and a cup of Joe. I was given the side eye when I was trying to mix my protein shake so remember this is Oklahoma not bougie or upscale healthy food vibes. They do serve lunch, which it quickly switched over at 10:30 only food I saw from then on out was lunch burgers and etc.. We asked a local word to eat, and this was basically the only place they said to come. You see yourself the waitress brings your menu then you just order, sit and chat then foods brought to you then you pay at the counter. I'd definitely come back. The food was as mentioned typical diner food and it hit the spot.

Right off the bat, their draft beer machine wasn't working, so we stuck with water and a soda. After being seated, there was a noticeable delay before our waitress came back. She explained she was dealing with an issue on another customer's credit card, which slowed things down. We started with the fried pickles. They were very good. Crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked right, but the portion felt a little light for an appetizer. For the main, we shared the Oklahoma country fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. That was the highlight. The steak had a solid crust with good flavor, and everything on the plate was done right. No complaints there. Overall, the food was strong, especially the country fried steak, but the service and the draft beer situation held it back some. If they tighten that up, it'd be a much better experience.

Unfortunately, my plate was a bit of a disappointment. The hash browns were barely cooked and served at room temperature, along with the sausage and eggs. The biscuit was hot and fresh, and the gravy was okay. My wife said the French toast wasn't anything to write home about either. Overall, we were pretty disappointed with the breakfast. Our waitress, however, was very friendly and provided good service.

I saw a video on Tik Tok by a well known hair salon owner in Dallas recommending him - LEGIT! Our hand-selected menu: - Prime Grade 16 oz Ribeye - American Wagyu 20 oz - Caesar salad (requested no anchovies but he usually adds them) - Brussels and crispy pork belly - Mushroom risotto - Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese - Herbed fresh green beans - Chocolate whiskey cake He will take custom food orders as well (even fresh seafood!). I cannot explain how EVERY bite of every item had incredible flavor. Delicious is an understatement. Chef Phil cooked, cleaned (counter/stove tops, took out the trash, loaded and started dishwasher), and provided nice to-go containers for leftovers. He did everything within 2 hours of arrival for two of us. The leftovers the next day were just as flavorful as freshly served! Reserve your date WELL in advance as his schedule stays full. Is it affordable? YES! I paid Chef Phil the same amount as going to a 5 star steak restaurant in Tulsa or Dallas and that included his time/travel (he should charge more!). The food was 5 star quality as well; actually, better! Besides being an amazing cook, Chef Phil is a kind, personable guy. It was a pleasure having him in our cabin, and we will use him on all future cabin trips!
