Love the pool and the slides. Snack bar is expensive (that's to be expected, right?). Need background checks for employees.

Great place to go in the summer! They could use a few more lawn chairs, or I should have brought a blanket. Adult swim is the best!!

Not sure why we hadn't tried this place out sooner, other than the fact that the past few summers…read morehave had TERRIBLE weekend weather, and this place (along with other similar venues) has truly suffered. It was so nice this weekend, and we live soooooooo close, that the 'Gods of Chlorine' finally lured us over there, and we were not disappointed (except when the crowds finally thinned, but it was "everyone out of the pool" @ 6:45 for a 7pm closing...)!!! Not half bad, when your only "complaint" is you wish they could stay open later...!! There's something for everyone here, from "diaper dippers" upward to Seniors (I think there's a pretty good "aqua fitness" class offering mornings; check their website: http://ntprdsplashzone.phantomgolf.com/. I wish they had more evening hours, and stayed open past mid-late August (unbelievable that most pools close here in Ohioooooo WELL before Labor Day, aka The HOTTEST PART OF THE SUMMER...!!) but I guess there's a lifeguard shortage once kids go back to school. This is a well run, well maintained gem in Springfield's dented/tarnished crown. Get there while it's HOT!!!

There are three slides, a short lazy river, kids play area, diving board and a lap pool. Something for everybody. There's plenty of space to spread out a blanket. Many lounge chairs are provided but it can be hard to get one if it's busy. Visitors may also bring their own chairs. Admission for adults is seven dollars. This place has a lot of rules and it was confusing as a first time visitor. Listen carefully to the announcements. I wish the regular pool area was larger, there's not a ton of room to move around. It would be nice if there was more landscaping too. The grass is beautiful, but more trees and plants would be great. I added a star because of the '80s music they were playing. No other form of music is more appropriate for summertime pool activities. Lots of fun.

As summer comes to a close and the school year begins in just a few weeks, I wanted to find a fun, yet affordable, activity for my family. A last hurrah for summer, if you will. Pine Lake Water Park was the perfect little getaway. Located 2 hours from Indy, it was a nice little drive in the summer sun listening to Rilo Kiley (my daily album generator gave me a Public Enemy album, so I chose to listen to that later in my headphones! Lol). Directions were easy to follow and even though Pine Lake is located down a small road, it was easy to find. The thing I loved most about Pine Lake was the size. It is a nice, small to medium size area. It is easy to see almost the entire park from the beach area. I have an older teenager and two younger children. It was easy to watch my teen go off and do some activities while also being closer to my girls. The activities were fun and included multiple types of water slides, a zip line, a spring board and platform jumps, a water obstacle course for younger kids and a few unique apparatuses like a teeter totter that floated in the water. There was enough to do to keep my kids entertained for hours. They don't allow alcohol or outside food. But the parking is just outside the gate and you can leave and return easily with your wristband. They have several picnic tables around the parking area for public use. We packed a cooler and a bag for dry food and took a little lunch break in the shade. I will agree with another reviewer that mentioned how murky the water is. Due to a lot of people being in the water plus all of the movement, the water isn't clear, at all. That really only makes a slight safety concern. There are life guards everywhere, and I never felt that anything was unsafe. However, don't just leave it up to the staff for safety. I still watched my kids like a hawk. Just a little tip for the wary parent. Pine Lake was affordable, fun and a great daytrip adventure. My entire family had a wonderful time, and we plan to visit, again, next summer. I pray the sunshine warms your soul and clears your head and your heart.

There is a huge body of water in which to swim, water slides, a water obstacle course, a diving area, and an area away from the lake with a splash pad for little kids. It's the kind of place you want to stay and play all day. That being said, this is a lake (man-made pond?) and not a pool. The ground is sandy and the water is murky and you cannot see a couple of feet below the surface. So if you have young children or children who are not confident swimmers, you should keep a constant watch on them at all times. There were a couple of times when my child, who is a confident swimmer, went underwater and just disappeared. You literally cannot see anything under the water. For a few heart-stopping seconds, I was wondering where he went and luckily he surfaced shortly after. But there are parts of the lake that are deep and two times I saw lifeguards race into the water to dive after people who went into the water and didn't come up as fast as they'd like. This happened in the diving area, which goes down very deep. So, just be aware. This isn't a hands-off place for parents by any means. My children really liked jumping off the deck into the lake, and also the water slides. My youngest enjoyed the splash pad, which has a bucket that fills up and dumps water on you every so often. One thing to note is that you're not supposed to bring coolers into the park. However, you can bring your own food (I guess as long as it's not in a cooler), or purchase food at the snack bar that opens around lunch time. If you want, though, you can leave and visit your vehicle and have lunch in the parking lot. I saw lots of people doing that, and there are a few picnic benches scattered about. Be sure to bring a blanket or something to sit on! There are lots of grassy areas where people sit and put their stuff. We also brought a beach umbrella, which was a good idea because the sun was beating down and there wasn't any shade!

Not only does the center have a great pool but also 2 water slides, diving board, a splash area, and water rock climbing wall. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas if you want to read or take a cat nap while there. There is a picnic area and also a small playground and sand volleyball if that tickles your fancy. The bathrooms were spotless and had showers and changing areas. Due to the event being private we had catered food but there is a concession stand to buy snacks and food while at the center if need be. Maybe going during the middle of the week when people are at work helped. My kids loved the big pool area with all the fun tools and toys. They also likes the slide, but I would suggest they have a lifeguard who is comfort with kids and telling them to get in line be there because the poor kid who was there was not at all. I thought the price was good for non-residents. A little high, but I get it. I liked that they didn't care about you bringing food in and had plenty of grass, shaded spots to sit with my kids. We had a really great time and will come back again next summer!

This rec center is an absolute beast. As someone who loves to work out at recreation centers and…read morehas been to many throughout her life, this one takes the cake as one of the cleanest, most modern, and largest. It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.
