The food is great, the staff always has a smile on their face and pull tabs are always a great time.

Troubles is a basic hometown bar and grill that has recently went through and remodel to the interior. A nice upgrade that has made the place pretty comfortable and more open. Basic line-up of beers. Some darker brews and rotating IPAs would be nice, but I understand providing what the customers drink. Happy hour from 3 - 5 every day is quite nice - buy one pint and get another for $1. The service is usually quick and friendly. While the food used to be a bit hit or miss, it seems the consistency of the food has greatly improved. Good selection of options including pizza, sandwiches, wraps, and baskets. The onion rings are great - very good sauce to go with. Pizza is pretty good - the Trouble's Troubler is a worth trying. The burgers are pretty decent. Upgrade to the fries as they are fantastic. The rib basket may be a hidden secret for this place. While there are varying options about ribs, I am one that appreciates a bite to the rib, good portions of meat, and obviously, good flavor. For $15 you get a good portion of meaty ribs and chips. And these ribs taste better than some of the BBQ joint ribs I've had. If you are into wings, the smoked wings here are some of the biggest, meatiest wings I've had. And when you're all done, why not try some dessert pillow puffs - drizzle some chocolate and caramel on them fluffy carbs, and you've got a great dessert. It started out fun, then when our food showed up it was way over seasoned and the chicken wings were burnt! When we asked the bartender for a break on the bill, he replied "we gave you 4 more wings!" We didn't want them as they were way too salty also. He theoretically checked with the Manager and was able to offer us half off?!?! It should have immediately been taken off of the bill. Bloody Mary's cleanse the pallet to start your day off on the right path. Have great flavor with a choice of absolute vodka. Not too spicy, not too light of flavor or an over power of alcohol taste. The green olives aren't super crunchy but have a strong flavor with a homemade pickle. Stopped at Trouble's Bar n Grill in Hard Lake (Howard Lake) to catch a pre-season football game. Not a huge sports bar, but pretty full of locals watching the game, having a beer and a burger, playing pull tabs, generally enjoying themselves. 6 or 7 tables, bar seats a dozen. 6 TVs, good viewing from any seat. Staff was friendly and quick to clean a table, take our drink order, and brought it right out. I had the fish sandwich and onion rings. Two big slabs of batter-fried fish, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo on a bun. Fish was quite good, but the bun was boring and didn't stand up to the fish. Still, a good choice. Onion rings are real onions, not chopped onion paste. Breading is good, would have liked a few more. The cheeseburger was done just right, cheese melted well, beef was tasty. Again, a pretty boring bun detracted a bit, but a good burger all in all. Half dozen beers on tap, good selection of bottles, and a decent selection of liquor. Pricing is good. Fish, burger, rings, 3 drinks and a Coke for around $40. Trouble's Restaurant next door through a short hallway has 7 or 8 tables, 3 booths. Bar and restaurant share the same menu and kitchen, restaurant is quieter than the bar. Not the best sports bar in the world, but if you are in Hard Lake, stop in for a beer and a burger. If i could rate less i would, food in my case was over cooked, my buddy had there .50 wings but was told they were .60 instead and had no explanation why the upcharge in price even though it was posted everywhere .50 wings. It took over 35 minutes to get our food and almost 45 minutes to get his wings. The waitress who was very rude never came over and said why he didn't have his food but instead we overheard them AFTER ASKING where his wings were forgot to even cook them, after 2 minutes his 6 UNDERCOOKED wings (if you could call them wings) came out. LIKE I SAID UNDERCOOKED. we called the waitress over and explained the problem and she never once looked at the wings ( like she would know anyways) or apologized started to clear the table. she then came out with our bills placed a bill in front of my buddy and walked away. we called here back over and asked why the bill? she replied back in a very bitchy way I TOOK OFF THE WINGS BUT NOT THE DRINKS CAUSE THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE DRINKS. I almost lost it then. I asked to speak to the manager and this arrogant guy comes over and asked what was the problem (like he wasn't already informed by his unprofessional server) we said that the wings where undercooked. ( keep in mind i went to school to be a chef and have a chefs degree) he went on to explain there cooking method and smoking process. and continued to say there was nothing wrong with the wings WITHOUT EVEN TAKING THE TIME TO LOOK AT THE WINGS IN QUESTION) he said the wings were comped but since nothing was wrong with his beer, ( of course there wasn't anything wrong with the beer it was bottled) and i'm sure if it was tap beer they would have screwed that up. then he told us to pay our bills and walked away. this place is so unprofessional and uncaring. How do you rate 0? I have ordered here for 3 plus years. Undercooked food at times....sometimes cooked perfect. My gripe is after paying .50 cents a sauce for 3 years and maybe getting the sauce every 1 outta 10 times finally I called to complain and I got put on the do not deliver list. We had burgers tonight, they were awesome, normally we get the pizza pinwheels but wanted to try something different. I highly recommend the burgers. Went into Trouble's for a cocktail before another event, first off my significant other asked for a White Russian. The waiter/bartender says, right in front of us, I don't know how to f**king make that. Then, when we did get our drinks, they were incredibly too strong! During the course of our drinks, I saw them continuously serve a woman that was visibly drunk drinks. She went outside, stumbled and fell on the pavement, and then got behind the wheel of her car and sped off. I informed the owner of this establishment of what I just saw, and he was just as drunk as she was! His excuse was, "She told me she had a ride!!". TROUBLE'S IS JUST AS THE NAME STATES; TROUBLE!!!! This has to be the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. I work as a nurse I had worked two doubles and was tired and didn't want to cook we had never ate here before. We ordered a meat lovers pizza. We have had this same pizza on several occasions ate other pizza places with great results. We paid 54.00 for pizza and wings. We opened the box to find a grease soaked pizza very much inedible we then bit into a wing and both pro.promptly spit it out. Salty horrible! !! We called the restaurant brought the problems to the attention of the young lady who answered the phone who was sweet. I asked for a new pizza and to change our wings to original Instead of buffalo. They said ok I got a call back from a rude female cook who pro.promptly launched into a tirade. She actually blamed me for the pizza being greasy because of the meat on the pizza. That is what a meat lovers is sweetie. She then tells me there wings are smoked that's lie number one Terrible doesn't have a smoker. I was then told I would not receive a new pizza and would not get a refund. I then brought the pizza in and found the owner behind the bar DRUNK I might add. He is very rude and laughed at me while I was asking him to accommodate me. He was so rude I started to cry. He laughed at me. It was so humiliating . The pizza pillows and chicken bacon ranch pizza are great. The service however is not. The beer cheese soup reeked and tasted of skunked beer and when I politely sent it back, the manager berated me and asked what the problem was. The manager uses the back part of the restaurant as his office and has loud, rude conversations. The environment overall leaves a lot to be desired. I recommend take-out or delivery. read more

I would give this place a ZERO star if I could! So while out riding in our motorcycle group, we decided to stop at this little bar/restaurant called Troubles for dinner. To start with the service was terrible! It took a while for us to get a server and our drinks. Our dinner took forever, over a half hour for a couple sandwiches and my order of wings that was their Wednesday night special. We all finished our drinks long before dinner came and yet no one checked back to see if we needed refills. So after waiting forever, they finally came out with everyone's sandwiches except my wings. After waiting another 10 minutes, we finally asked where my wing were at. We over heard them talking that they had forgot my wings and then told me they would be out in 2 minutes. By the time I got my wings everyone else was almost done with their dinner. This was a pitiful meal of 3 legs and 3 wings that was suppose to be their Wednesday night special and be .50 cents a wing but I was told even though they had signs all over including at the table advertising their .50 cent wings they told me their wings were now .60 cents each. For a special wing dinner it was barely an appetizer! So while I was annoyed by this point, the kicker was that when I started to eat the wings I found them to be RAW!!! Not just a little raw but completely raw, entirely bright pink! So we called the waitress over and all I got was "Oh" and she took my plate of wings looking very annoyed. Not a single sorry, apology of any kind or even offer to make me some new wings. She took my "meal" off but still charged me for my drink and said she wouldn't comp the drink since there was nothing wrong with my drink. We asked to see the manager who came over with an attitude and told me there was nothing wrong with their wings and they are all cooked to temperature. Again not a single apology or offer of any kind. Said well we took your meal off, yah thanks a whole $3.60 for my shitty 6 piece "meal" with no sides or anything with it. And then he told us to just pay our bills and walked away! We had been polite and very calm up to this point as we know things can happen but shitty rude service is unacceptable!!! So no one in our group will ever stop at this place again, we would rather eat McDonalds. Save your time and money and go somewhere else! read more
