I was lucky to use them at a huge discounted saving and thought that the prints would not be up to par quality wise because of the saving. However, I got personalized attention and the end product was as I had imagined. I had three images printed on diasec and the colors and the end result of the acrylic finish was outstanding. They were also patient and helpful with my specific requests. I am really happy with Tropicolor... I just wish they would change their tag line from "Big Ass" to something that isn't so distasteful when referencing them... Just saying. read more

Great print quality on paper. The stuff is friendly and flexible to customers needs (they offered to stay a few minutes late if I couldn't make it before closing time). Processing time is right but could be faster. Still, very decent if you consider prices and the final product. I'm very pleased with these guys. Print on aluminum was good too. A bit over-exposed-ish looking but definitely cool looking. Would be nice if they had in-house framing/mounting but again, that's not their business. What a disappointment. Took two paintings in to be framed, picked out frames/matting with an apathetic girl, paid higher than I thought was reasonable because this place had better reviews than others, waited one week for them to be finished only to arrive and find that they had put the wrong matting on both paintings. Now have to wait additional days to get my paintings. No apologies or discounts offered, just pure apathy. read more

Awww - I used to come to this place all the time to print photos. The prices are decent - and you can upload online which is always nice. The quality is better than you'd get at CVS or Walgreens, and the girls behind the counter are always pleasant and helpful. The store has some kiosks in which you can print your photos directly - and they have a nifty little shop with frames and such. The parking is metered, if you are lucky to find a spot on alton or adjacent roads. If you want a really professional photo - esp. an enlarged one - you have to go (super expensive) to the photo place in that Mac Daddy office building right on 5th as your getting off the 395. I forget what it's called - it's on the right side of the street. Right on 5th and one road east of Alton. PM - if you really want to know the name - I'll dredge up an old credit card statement! read more

Black and white photos came out with a blue color cast. They use Fuji paper instead of the standard Kodak Endura Professional. (always do test prints!) Of course Tropicolor is perfectly fine if you're just printing family photos. I'll have to stick with nyc or driving up to Ft. Lauderdale for prints... read more

I needed something for a client and in a HURRY. If you are in the graphic design biz, HURRY is always when it's needed. Anyway, I contacted Tropicolor and that is exactly what they did, HURRIED! They sent my print quickly and it looked great. Only one problem...there was a border that was eliminated when cut. I contacted Tropicolor and their attitude was, "No problem!". They reprinted, WITH the border and shipped it asap. So would I recommend them, HELL YES!
