I appreciate the job they did on my piece, and I truly think they're great at what they do, but they have a huge lack of transparency when it comes to pricing. I walked in, like many others, with a Groupon, but didn't mention it until the end. Even before mentioning the Groupon, I asked how much it would be to frame a painting, and showed it to them. The answer I got was between $80 and $140. That's quite the range! When I said I just wanted an affordable option, I was met with "we are professionals here." I'm extremely confused as to how the owner/person working here came up to the total he charged me. He just came up with the number off the top of his head, which changed drastically and went up once I mentioned I had a Groupon. I wish on the receipt they would tell you why they charge so much - x amount for frame, x amount for size, material, etc. Really - what are their pricing guidelines? Anyway -- even with the Groupon I paid a hefty amount. The final piece was beautiful, and I can't argue on that, but I do believe I overpaid. read more

Embarrassingly, I graduated college 20 years ago, and my degree was in the closet still. It would probably be happily collecting dust until the latest hurricane evacuation make me realize it should be higher to the ceiling than the floor! This was my impetus to frame it and the subsequent medical school degree, residency, fellowship, and board certifications that were suffering the same fate. Ed was staffing the counter when we arrived and helped me pick out a frame design as well as a mat color that looked great with all the different vellum colors. He expertly explained how this would allow for "continuity" despite the different institution's lettering and styles. I picked everything up and he was exactly right. I'm so proud of how they look grouped together now. I also had my dad's painting re-framed and de-warped as well as glass replaced on a framed poster that I accidentally swung the doorknob into, and a large photo reframed. It all looks great and prices were reasonable (ranged from $50 to replace glass to $380 to straighten, tighten, and reframe original acrylic painting on canvas over 52 year old plywood). Gave Adam and the team at Frames USA what I thought was a difficult task. I brought a nearly 100 yr old window from my house and asked if they could frame a piece I did on canvas in it while preserving the glass. Not only were they able to do it, but they helped choose a mat border that would accentuate the piece and really make it pop. I was always one to think that the frame on a piece of art was just a tool to hang it on a wall- but in reality the frame is a work of art in itself. This past week I thought I'd raise the stakes a little and I brought another window from the same house with the same intention. Only this time the glass was cracked. I truly expected for it to be a nearly impossible task to replace the glass in this old flimsy wooden window. Not only were they able to do it, but the attention to detail to match their previous job and make this piece really stand out is next to none. Can't say enough about this place. Oh and mind you, the turn around was about 48hr. Other frame places I visited before I found Frames USA told me it would take weeks. Very highly recommend. read more

Today I popped in to Frames USA with a big poster of Hokusai's Great Wave in need of a permanent home. It had been rolled up waiting for a frame for some time, and I found a groupon online for this spot, so the stars seemed to be aligning. We got to the store and we were helped by Adam. He was really friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and truly a jokester. Made the whole time really fun, gave us a guiding hand and gave some suggestions while allowing us to drive the way we wanted the feel to be. He was really a phenomenal help, and he gave me a couple quotes on other projects that we have pending. I also liked they had a check in offer on Yelp! Let's be real, this is not a "cheap frame place", they have an assortment of high quality materials, they use good glass for the cover. They give the poster a treatment to take away any imperfections. Its true art framing. It's not like buying a frame at target or something. We were going for a more beach feel on the frame, and we didn't put a mat board around it. With the $100 Groupon it will still come out to be $180. I would say this is the place you take something that is very meaningful to you that you want to have a properly built, custom frame made for it. Going into this shop along the Bird Road commercial corridor, the last person I might have expected running into is a character like Adam. Jovial, helpful, and really focused on getting me what I was looking for. He pulled out the Rolls Royce of frames and then offered a Honda after noting the price of each. I'm a sucker for nice things so despite the cost, I commissioned his people to get to work with the Rolls. We talked for a little while and not before long, I whipped out an old black & white of my mom and her mom... sitting together at a table in Barcelona... with white pigeons all around them. It's a beautiful shot and I thought it'd also make a great gift for the holidays so I had him throw a frame around that one. Within 20 minutes, both frames were ready! It was unreal. Gorgeously matted and in the frames they should've been born in. Adam's a great guy. He's been in business for 11 years (!!!!) and his prices are as good as they come. read more

AVOID! Very over priced and the "owner" is a complete creep and unprofessional. I came in for a quote and he was very rude and didn't really want to help me because he was talking to his friend. As he was taking my order he would keep checking me out and asking personal questions and then had the audacity to ask if I was single. Apart from him being a creep he is very over priced. I'm not like most customers that are unaware of local prices so I just went a few blocks away to a real frame Shop got a way better deal. Definitely will never be back. I have to amend my previous review of Frames USA. When Adam, the owner, saw my previous review, he repeatedly went out of his way to contact me to find out why I was displeased. He bent himself into a pretzel in order to make me happy and correct whatever issue I had. When I had said that it was expensive, I need to clarify that I knew how much it was in advance and my issue was that I was disappointed. Adam was willing to redo the entire job at no expense to me. He was sincere in every way and I'm incredibly impressed with how important it was to him that I am thrilled with the job. I had a very bad experience with this shop. I bought a groupon for $50. As soon as I told the attendant I had a groupon voucher, he jacked up the price to bring it down with my redeemed groupon, exactly to the price he had quoted me in the first place. I ended up paying more because the grupon had cost me $19. The place is way overpriced on top of it. I got a quote for other two pictures from them and decided not to do it. I went right across the street and they charged me 1/3 of the price Frames USA had quoted me and the owner is way, way nicer. I was extremely excited on having two of my art canvases framed by Frames USA especially after reading the amazing reviews. Upon arriving, that excitement quickly started to diminish. I had an appointment with Ed (who's face and aura didn't seem so friendly) I began asking for a quote on the canvases with my measurements in tow. He says he would not be able to assist unless the canvases were right in front of him. I told I just needed a general quote as these canvases were kind of big. He says that he wouldn't be able tell unless they were right in front of him. I wish this was something that could have been communicated to me and any customer who decides to get anything framed prior to the visit. Luckily I did bring them just in case I liked what I saw. Once I was able to bring the canvases in, Ed began to show me a variety of sample frames that would look good with the art. He took his time with me and accommodated our budget in which I greatly appreciated. We were finally able to choose one and Ed's austere face finally had smile on it when he realized we were REAL customers (impression that Myself and my mother received). I picked up the frames less then a week later and they were gorgeous! Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely shop here again. **The only con is not being informed prior to visit that All canvases/ painting/ photo needs to physically present for a quote and also a friendlier service to both non but potential customers and real customers. read more
