I just can't say enough about how awesome this neighborhood gem is. I needed to have an existing piece of art reframed as the Gallery frame was cheap and shoddy. They were able to complete the task in a short time frame since I was traveling within a week and made it look 100 times better than it did before. Very professional and lovely to work with. Lucas outdid himself! I took in 20 pictures to have framed and I love every single one of them! Not only did he do an excellent job but the price was great! The last picture I took to him was a difficult one because of size. Due to the hurricane he had to close shop so my pic wasn't ready as promised. A week later I go to get it and since he felt bad he surprised me and put it in a floating frame (which cost more but he didn't charge me). I was blown away! So beautiful and such a nice gesture. Lucas was patient and understanding while we went through multiple framing options. I was a VERY apprehensive on the suggestion for use of white framing, but took his advise anyway. Now that my piece is finally hung, I absolutely love it and glad I stuck with his advice! Rated 4 stars bc although he gives you a completion date in invoice, a call that work was completed would have been nice. I have used Ashley's Frame multiple times in the past and have been pleased with their work however, after my recent incident with them I will never go back. I brought in a paining that I had purchased from Costa Rica to be framed. Upon receiving the finished product I hung the painting on my wall and discovered that it had been damaged. Not the frame but the actual painting! I returned to Ashley's Frame with the painting to show them the damage. The owner tore open the back lining of the picture where the horrible patchwork was revealed. He told me that it appeared that the framer had somehow put a slice in the canvas of the painting. It then appeared that someone attempted to patch up the slice and actually painted on my painting in order to conceal the damage! To the owner's credit he did return the money that I paid for the frame ($288.84) as well as the cost of the painting ($150). He also insisted that he give me a $40 credit for any future framework. But that still left me with a damaged painting. The owner then insisted that he get someone to restore the painting as well as put on a better, more expensive frame. What did I have to lose? Besides I really loved the painting, it was a one-of-a-kind and I would have to return to Costa Rica to get another one. Well, for the next three months I checked back every 3-4 weeks and got the same story, that he was so overwhelmed with business he didn't have time to work on my painting. Finally, on the third month while I was present he called a restoration artist who agreed to try and fix the painting. Another couple of weeks went by and I returned again to see if my painting was ready. It had been worked on however there was still obvious damage and this time there was no frame on it. The owner assured me again that he will put a frame on it and told me to come back the next day to pick it up. I gave him three days, told him when I was to return and saw him write that information down and place it on my painting. I returned three days later and still no frame. I ended up just taking the picture back. (By the way I never received the $40 credit.) Obviously I am upset about my damaged painting but what made me more angry was the deceptive way that Ashley's Frame went about attempting to cover it up. I understand that mistakes happen but they were never honest from the beginning. And then the way the owner procrastinated when trying to fix the problem. I was never contacted about the progress or lack of progress of the restoration and had to actually come in to the store every few weeks to get anything done. Luckily my painting only cost $150 plus a trip to Costa Rica but imagine if my painting was worth a few thousand dollars or more which is common here on Miami Beach. I strongly urge everyone to be careful if using Ashley's Frame I would hate to have anyone go through the experience I had. read more

Ashley's is conveniently around the corner from where I live but it's also my "go to" place for custom framing. Caveat - the aren't cheap - but then you certainly don't want your art to look low class now do ya? Look you can pick up frames from Target or even frames and matting from a Michael's and do it yourself - but sometimes you have a photograph, print or painting that you want to look simply "professional," museum ready. And if you're too old for tape and thumbtacks and wanna add some maturity to your wall decor - Ashley is your place. read more
