I had a very disappointing experience with Gallery Art and would not trust them with valuable artwork again. A couple of months ago, I brought in an art piece to have the inside of the plexiglass cleaned. When I noticed months later that there were still visible marks that had been missed, I also realized that the plexiglass was no longer properly seated under the wood frame, the edge was now sticking out. This had never been an issue in the 20+ years the piece of art has been in this frame, including previous handling by other professionals. I brought the piece back and spoke with an employee named Mathew. He acknowledged that the piece had not been cleaned properly, but then attempted to blame me for the plexiglass shifting due to how I "might have handled it." He also claimed the plexiglass was cut too small for the frame, which makes no sense given the frame's long history without this problem, until Gallery Art took it apart and put it back together. Mathew initially tried to charge me $180 to re-clean the piece and realign the plexiglass, even though the issue was clearly caused by their work. I asked instead for the plexiglass to simply be replaced. After getting my piece back, I contacted the owner, Amy, to discuss the situation. She was extremely unprofessional from my initial call with her. When I called at 11:30 a.m., she told me she sleeps during the day and would not speak with me until after 7 p.m. When I finally did reach her and explained that I should not have been charged to fix their mistake, she dismissed my concerns entirely after multiple calls going back and forth with her on the situation. After spending over $700 with this business, she offered only a $90 credit and later followed up with a text to me stating... "Obviously, you agreed to the price when you dropped it off, you were not double billed." This completely missed the point of my complaint, which was about poor workmanship and accountability, not billing confusion. Overall, the lack of care, refusal to take responsibility, and unprofessional communication were unacceptable. I would not trust this company with any artwork, especially valuable or sentimental pieces. read more

This is an absolutely amazing gallery, and I would highly recommend them if you are looking for unique one-of-a-kind pieces of art. I recently moved to the area and found this place when looking to re-frame a family heirloom painting. I dropped it off with only needed a new frame, the original had a glass cover. When I picked it up, they switched it out to acrylic without my knowledge, no phone call or communication. I was told it was better for the painting to protect it, but the point was to keep everything that I dropped off and only replace the frame. Very defensive when I noticed and not very nice when handling this. You don't make a decision like this without addressing it with the customer first. read more

They don't have competitive prices. For some reason the staff acts like if they don't see you while you're looking at stuff. I needed a piece of art that I Purchased from Parkwest galleries reframed as I had changed my style. I took it to gallery art and chose a new frame with new matting they told me it would take a week to 10 days to finish and they would call me. Fast forward six weeks later after many calls they told me it was finished. Imagine my surprise to arrive at the store and they told me the mattingI had chosen was out of stock and someone should've told me when I told them I wanted it back they brought me just the picture I said what happened to the frame they didn't know. It was a nice frame I said I wanted my deposit back and they charged me the remaining balance. We then had a discussion where they returned entire balance that had been charged. Now I have a photo with no frame and Worried that it will be damaged somehow before I can get it framed again. Stay away from this place. read more

We were in last Friday and had a wonderful time looking through Gallart's vast collection of Fine Art... while waiting for a new frame to be measured and set for our prized Peter Max serigraph. Everyone was very nice, warm and friendly and it was quite an experience "talking art" with the owner who is very knowledgeable, while the work was completed... rather inexpensively, I thought. Complete scam!!!! Do NOT trust this gallery. They tried to lock us into a $30,000 lithograph by falsifying information regarding the guarantee. After charging my credit card and not living up to their word, they tried to charge me HUNDREDS of dollars to "back out of the deal" before the artwork was ever delivered. Be very careful dealing with GalleryArt on any level. I see in ALL reviews here, there is heavy criticism about owner Ken Handel. I would have to agree. After a simple conversation about an eBay transaction, Mr. Handel was beyond rude, arrogant and downright aggressive. Needless to say, Ken actually hung up on me twice after throwing child-like tantrums. Gallery owner, Ken, is extremely rude. Do not waste your time here. My husband and I spent a couple of hours flipping through art in the market for an original Peter Max. Chose a few pieces worth tens of thousand of dollars. The owner told us we could have 3 minutes or his time. He started by telling us he wished he was back on vacation and he continually tried to make "jokes" about how we didn't need to know the dimensions of the painting vs our wall space, telling us how to hang a painting and that his consultations should be $300 per hour and that he has hardworking employees that he doesn't know what they do. Never actually addressing our actual questions or taking the conversation seriously. Trying to be friendly, I laughed at said "jokes" but he aggressively told me to stop laughing every time. Never got any useful information and ended up leaving and purchased original Peter Max artwork elsewhere. He may have nice artworks, but could not support such a rude business owner. read more

After numerous calls with the owner Ken we agreed on a price between $1500-$2000 for our original painting. After driving an hour and a half in traffic to the location, we were told the offer price was maybe a couple of hundred dollars. We went with Marina Picasso Collection Lithograph, signed in pencil to this guy and he said he buys them for 100.00 and sells them for 300.00. So I checked his site and ebay store and he sells for 2000.00 and up. He was so rude!!! I was there with my young kids and they even asked what his problem was.
