I really like this location when I'm coming for lunch because they get me in and out but for some reason some of their ingredients are not as fresh as the other locations. I ordered the açai bowl and açai berry boost for later in the day. They both are really good but the strawberries on my bowl were not as fresh as I would have liked them to be and there was a lot of clutter and things going on behind the working station. Also, I did not like that some of the employees did not have on gloves, and the parents of their hands was just unhygienic. Other than that my smoothie was great. read more

I had two young grandchildren with me and had stopped at the tire place next door. Feeling like a lady in distress and having to entertain two children while my tire got fixed. We stepped over to the tropical smoothie place and they were so nice and courteous. A gentleman with a name tag Scrappy Doo brought our food to us. He was so nice and simply made our day better. I came here during a busy time and ordered ahead on the app right before I walked in. Despite it being very busy, they were able to get me my smoothie within minutes and my entree in less than ten minutes. The employees were friendly and apologized for the wait, even though I noted there really wasn't one since I had just ordered. This was the first time I visited this location as far as I can remember. I do recommend getting the app if you like Tropical Smoothie in order to benefit the most. read more

I've been to this location a few times. I am always happy with the smoothies and the veggie wrap that I usually order. However, the noise level from several Vitamix blenders in use at the same time is unpleasant. That amount of noise can't be good for the employees hearing. I never eat there. Tropical Smoothie is one of my favorite places to stop by when I want a smoothie or healthy meal for lunch. The service is always quick and the staff is very nice. During lunch hours it can be a bit of a crowd, but the staff ensures that they deliver every order in a timely manner. It is also located in a central area and easy to get too. Parking can be a bit of a jam due to the small lot, but usually it clears up since people leave very quickly due to their vast service. I usually always order the Sunrise Sunset smoothie drop the OJ and add Kiwi paired with a Chicken Bacon Ranch flatbread and a side of chips or fruit. Make sure you don't forget to download the app as well because as a frequent customer you will always get rewards and offers that you don't want to miss. read more

Yeap. They're a chain. But sometimes I don't like making my own smoothies! Love my retired Açaí Blue Truffle and Chai Boost Max with Peaches smoothies. I do the same 'ol same 'ols, but this is the only location that gets it right every time. Their customer service is consistently bar none as well. Most Yelping I'm interested in focuses not on franchises/corporations, but on stand-alone operations. That's probably true for a lot of you - but I'm making an assumption. Tropical Smoothie is a go-to place for us as a "cheat" for breakfast before school. I know. Deplorable... ;) We often call this store in advance and then "swing by" and pick up breakfast for the kids on their way to school. Turns out that transit times from the store to school line up with the time needed to put a major dent in the smoothie - if not kill it outright. The curmudgeony part of me thinks these treats are outrageously expensive, but then I take into account the "made-to-order" facet, coupled with the seemingly fresh ingredients and the overall "hey! - this is healthy" marketing surrounding it, and I trade in the curmudgeonly outrage for slumped-shoulder acceptance. It's not just the liquids - the solids are good too. Speaking strictly about this store, this staff is always friendly. Congenial, even. Here's my tangential question: Why the square blender containers? I'm sure there's an answer based on sound physics, but I'm frequently seeing the staff pounding the smoothie out on the counter. There's gotta be a better way, but I'm no Smoothie Specialist - but it just seems as though stuff gets trapped in those corners rather than join the vortexial party in the center. Be patient with these folks. When they're slammed - they do a good job (in my experience) with "all hands on deck" but this stuff takes time. Also, remember, these folks are likely working for minimum wage. I suspect that "management" is perhaps only a dollar more per hour. Sometimes, I forget stuff like that. Maybe you do too. read more

Been going here for years but not often much of late. This is the only tropical in Tallahassee that gives military discount. (10%) what can I say the smoothies are yummy, the food is really good and healthy I love tropical smoothie. Oh yeah, I know the manager personally she's a really sweet lady and the staff is always friendly. (Even the kid with the mohawk ;-) I recommend this tropical smoothie. read more

I generally love Tropical Smoothie; however, I was slightly disappointed in this location. The Chicken Caesar wrap was not made properly. It didn't have all of the ingredients not was it toasted as usual. The ginger glow smoothie I ordered was pretty good though. The staff was very short and not very friendly. My favorite smoothie is the Chia banana boost and every time I go into a new tropical smoothie I'm always afraid that they'll mess it up. Typical of any chain restaurant, if you've been to one you've been to them all... for the most part. If you've been to a TS, then you know they have a decent selection of healthier food options (wraps, light sandwiches, salads, etc.) and a more-than-decent selection of naturally flavored blended smoothie options (34 diff. smoothies listed on the menu at this time, plus various supplements and additives). Some of their smoothies are light and fruity (such as the Blimey Limey I picked up this visit), and some are more decadent, somewhat and are more suited for dessert (anything with cocoa and/or peanut butter). Never had a bad experience at a TS -- no stale food, no smoothies that were off, no horrible service. The wraps are not huge but they are flavorful enough, and their smoothies are the tastiest frozen drink you'll find that doesn't have alcohol in it. It's not a high class restaurant, and you'll pay $10-12 for a wrap or sandwich and smoothie, but this is what I'd choose if I had to pick a place to eat amongst a cluster of fast food joints. My only complaint might be that they pipe in the cheesy Disney-ized reggae music a bit too loud. (Seeing that this is a chain, I will probably copy and paste this review at the other Tropical Smoothie locations that I frequent around town as I visit them.) read more

Love Tropical Smoothie! The food is always delicious and the smoothies are addicting (my favorite is probably the beach bum - strawberries, bananas, and chocolate). I have found this location to have great, efficient service in addition to great food and smoothies. I have used the online order, and my food is always ready when I arrive. The new quesadillas are excellent, and the flatbreads are always delicious. The inside can be a little loud, but that can only be expected since the smoothie machines are running so often. read more

This particular TS has a lot of issues. 90% of the time, my order is made incorrectly and I have to get them to remake the smoothie. The other 10% of the time, I'm too irritated to go back in to get my smoothie remade. They are heavy on the sugar even when you ask for less sugar. The customer service is horrible. I only go in here when I'm very hungry and don't have a lot of time. But every time I go I leave irritated and unhappy. Today was the last time I'll go. They've apparently had menu changes and I didn't realize since all the other locations in Tallahassee apparently still honor the old ways and don't correct me. For example, they apparently don't allow you to have a cookie as a side anymore. The lady was extremely rude when I asked for a cookie. She was close to getting a nasty reply but I decided instead to just ignore her and never come back and write a review on yelp. Bye! read more

So, I rarely Yelp a chain because they are generally consistent. This place.....the manager needs to retrain EVERYONE on basic food preparation and all the recipes. The hummus veggie wrap was saturated with what tasted like ranch dressing. Yuck. Chicken pesto flatbread was a pesto mess. Beyond sloppy. Returned that and ordered a Cheese quesidilla.....how do you mess that up? Well, load it with cheese, fold it, send it through the toaster apparatus and ignore the fact that none of the cheese has melted then cut it in some weird pattern and toss it in paper. Second return. Done by another employee. Cheese quesidilla Take 2: cheese on tortilla heated open face (off to a good start), folded and cut neatly. Handed to me and STILL had unmelted cheese and the outside was lukewarm. Ok. Forget it. Will stick with the TSC on Timberlane. read more

I was pleased overall with my selection. It was freshly prepared and taste as I expected. The staff at this location was great, they are very personable and accommodating. I was just in for lunch on September 27th, 2019 at 12:40 PM. The employees had a yelling match with a customer whose quesadilla originally came out wrong in a restaurant full of people, including children. He was upset because they forgot about re-making his order and just continued making the other orders that came in. He said that it wasn't right for them to skip him and make him wait all day. The female employee who was making the quesadillas turned around and yelled at him that it wasn't her fault, to which he responded whose fault is it then. She continued yelling incoherently, so he began yelling and all the employees starting yelling. The one making the smoothies said, "Today is not the day. It's Friday. We're all just trying to go home". I've never seen employees act like that in my life. It was unacceptable to subject other customers to that kind of behavior and disrespect of another customer. Meanwhile the customer next to me watched her quesadilla sit on the counter and get cold. It was a huge waste of everyone's valuable lunch hour, and the food made during that time was sub-par due to the distraction. I've been to this location many times and been disappointed in the service and punctuality of orders. This experience pretty much sealed my opinion. read more
