I had to repeat my order approximately five times due to a communication barrier, and I even showed the server a picture of the smoothie from their menu to make sure there was no confusion. Despite this, I received a regular acai smoothie with peanut butter--the purple smoothie--instead of the yellow smoothie I ordered. I was unable to drink it and ultimately had to throw it away. Fortunately, I do not have a peanut allergy, but receiving an ingredient I specifically did not order could have been a serious issue for someone with an allergy. Unfortunately, due to the poor service and incorrect order, I will not be returning.

The cocktails did not disappoint. Service was equally strong. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. He answered our questions clearly and offered recommendations that proved well worth taking. The owner also stopped by to ask about our experience, a thoughtful gesture that made the evening feel genuinely welcoming. Pomona Cafe is a terrific addition to Swampscott, and we'll gladly return. Highly recommend!

Disgusting. Apart from this.. if you can get over that, the food was really meh for the $, the chicken was dry and hard to chew and it just seemed like something I could cook on my own at home and I'm not even very good at cooking. Also got an espresso which was acidic and 1/2 cold. (This we've tried twice and both times just as bad)

Owen approached us after noticing our confused and puzzled looks while in the chicken section. We wanted to buy a whole chicken (in retrospect a huge undertaking for two novices). We literally had no idea what we were looking at/for. We would pick up a package, try and gather as much information as we could from reading the label, and put it back down. We did this a few times before Owen came to our rescue. Not only did Owen share with us his impressive knowledge of the best whole chicken to purchase, he even offered to spatchcock the chicken for us (a free service I had no idea Whole Foods did for already packaged non in-store products). It was not a surprise that Owen did an amazing job with our chicken and packaged it immaculately. He even included the chicken scraps and bones, wrapped separately. Owen left a huge impression on us and we look forward to seeing his cheerful demeanor and helpful attitude every time we visit this Whole Foods location. He is also polite and a great conversationalist! Time and time again, Owen goes above and beyond what he is expected to do. Keep up the excellent attitude and work ethic, Owen! The last time I visited the butchers, I heard from Owen that he is planning to go back to school and cut down to part time work. I sincerely hope the best for him and in all his future endeavors! Besides our great experience at the butchers, this Whole Foods location is solid. It can get pretty busy sometimes on the weekends and in the middle of the day during the weekdays, but it's clean and decently big in here so I don't mind the crowding as much. We constantly purchase our produce from here and they are young, fresh and last a while in our fridge. There are no floral staff members to wrap flowers you purchase here though (I've never seen anyone behind the flower counter). They also do not have any Whole Foods brand fresh bread or a bread slicing machine here. They do carry bread packaged from other brands here though. The Whole Foods cafe (for the brown butter cookie lattes) seems to be closed indefinitely.

I believe the high performance management, and favorable customer experience, are a result of the Cafe's manager, Luan. I hadn't seen Luan, or visited the Swampscott Panera Bread Cafe, in more than 10 years, and when I walked in, Luan was still there, still doing a great job managing the Cafe, and he remembered me and my name. I have no idea how he did that. The coffee at Panera Bread is outstanding; always hot, bold, flavorful, and with the right accompaniments, including Skim Milk. Unfortunately, the pastry at Panera Bread is not good. I don't remember how long Panera has been serving Par-Baked pastry, but the Par-Baked pastry are bad; they look good, but their taste and texture are terrible. Most decent bakeries put Panera's pastry to shame; Panera's bagels are awful, in the same league as Dunkin's hockey puck bagels, just awful. The salads and sandwiches at Panera are pretty good, but, expensive. As Panera Bread Cafe's go, I say with confidence, that the Panera Bread Cafe in Swampscott, MA is the best managed Panera Bread Cafe that I know, in the USA.

I eagerly opened it and bit into it, but the bread was a bit hard and not the same as it used to be. The sub really had little flavor. There was shredded lettuce on it, which I don't recall being used years ago and there wasn't enough oil on it so it was kind of dry and tasteless. The woman who made it was very nice and she asked what I wanted on it and I said everything. Including hots? Yes! But there were no hots on it. Jeez. I know things change, but this really couldn't compare at all to the delicious subs they used to make. Maybe they aren't able to get the same bread anymore?
