" Your Presence is bothering them " I went on two separate occasions once at 8:40pm , second occasion at 8:30 pm. They refused to make me anything off the menu because they said they were not turning on the oven. That I had to get there before 8:00 pm. I went back to give them another shot, before I wrote this review. They were not at all interested in making me feel comfortable or servicing my food needs . I know help is hard to find especially on the pay they make . ( however there must be some that will appreciate the job , clearly not these worker's ). However this is just pure , awful customer service. Close the store early or put up a sign, if you don't Cook after a certain hour. That way customers like myself are not left feeling so terrible at the attempted to service our food needs in your establishment. The vibe is not welcoming or friendly. It's almost like "your presence as a customer is bothering them ". You have to literally pull teeth to get service , that clearly , they don't want to provide . They say this is a taqueria unlike any other. I'd say they're right on the money with this place as the food and service here was outstanding. It's a nice and comfortable spot to rest your tired patitas and have a burrito. NEW LOCATION, SAME GREAT FOOD! Months ago, when I went to my favorite burrito place, Tango Mango, I noticed before I parked that they were gone! It made me so sad. But recently, a friend told me they hadn't closed, but simply moved to a new location, just around the corner on Langley Street. Of course, I went there right away. I found the same great food, and even the same people, but in a larger, brighter, new place. Now there are more places to sit and enjoy your food. I love their burritos, always fresh, and there is a huge assortment of fillings, vegetables and meats and toppings. Each burrito is made to your own specifications. There is often a line, but the staff are very efficient, so the wait is not too long, and they are always friendly, even when it is crowded. Still my favorite! read more

Newton Center, reliably good burritos. I have gone here dozens of times and can confirm good burritos here. It's quite a busy area at lunchtime. Beware it's a vigorous enforcement parking area. Tango Mango is definitely very "middle of the road" when it comes to quality burritos. While the line moves fast, you can tell that the staff don't really give much care about how the burrito turns out. You and your burrito will definitely get the feel of being rushed when you order from this place. The tortilla is flung across the room and the ingredients are disproportionately added to the concoction. Long story short, you end up getting a burrito full of rice every time. Now, when I was a middle schooler in Newton Center, I'd take any opportunity to eat at Tango Mango. The rice ball fascinated me and my peers (you'll see that most of their business comes from middle schoolers). But now that I'm an adult with developed taste buds and a keen eye for proper food preparation, the rice ball isn't really doing it for me. Another thing about Tango Mango is that their ingredients are not as "free" as other burrito joints such as Chipotle. Meaning that every ingredient makes an unfriendly cha-ching sound. Additionally, while it's nice that they offer sizes, there isn't any noticeable difference between a medium or large burrito because of how sloppily the burritos are assembled. Tango and I go way back. One of my first solid meals after a brain surgery 5 years ago was a tango burrito in the hospital. I have ordered the same forever - whole wheat big burrito, cheese, rice, spicy chicken, veggies, guac, salsa, hot sauce, You really can't go wrong with most of your choices from the menu and you get the control of what you put in your rito or dilla, etc , so if it is not to your liking, maybe you just chose wrong. Top quality ingredients and portion always filling depending what size you want. I also recommend the cornbread. read more

This venue is bad for Mexican/Latin/Hispanic places. I'm assuming they cater to the Newton Centre demographic;), which is why it doesn't do anything authentic. It's the worst burrito I have had, not because they didn't take my order right, it's just bad. I would not recommend anyone this place - especially for the prices and surprise items in your food ;) What's worse, I found something the size of my thumb in the guacamole. I couldn't tell what it was and didn't want to eat. I had my pup smell it, and she didn't like it. I didn't realize it as I got it and ate half the burrito at home. It's pretty scary and has poor food prep. I threw everything the item away. The best part is the guy at the front just sat and leaned on the counter on his phone on social media while I was there eating the first part of my BADrrito. Turns out I was ordering the wrong thing here. I discovered the fish tacos and churros for my kid years ago, and together with the fountain soda option, that changed everything. We ordered takeout from this place given all the great reviews. The online ordering system is a mess with similar items being double listed with different prices. On top of that if you try to use DoorDash, the AI makes up descriptions of food as the restaurant hasn't defined what their various plates are. It turns out the vegetarian bowl literally didn't come with vegetables in it - it had to be added as an extra just like everything else did. There were items listed on the site that we couldn't find on the online ordering menu. We also couldn't tell the quesadillas apart from the burritos and the food was overall underwhelming. we won't be ordering from here again. read more

Tango mango is always reliable for an amazing burrito! I tried their tacos for the first time today and they were delicious. I really like how they use two tortillas instead of one so it holds better. They warm up the tortilla for the burrito so it is always perfectly chewy. The toppings and meats are all made there and fresh. I also really like their fried plantains and tres leches for something sweet. Service is fast and efficient. This places is disgusting, the employees are rude and don't stop talking to each other long enough to even take your order. The churro was hard as a rock and had crème in side and tasted raw. Went to pickup from them for a large order. Service: * We got there, with no one behind us, still we felt extremely rushed throughout the order. * There was a small menu (Letter size) sticking to the sneeze-guard. No labelling of the possible ingredients at all, with no one suggesting any options. Ex: I ordered chicken only to find out after paying that there are at-least 2 other options. * During the order, we had about 7-8 things to order but took a bit to sort thru the rushed order and no menu. The guys behind the counter were clearly giggling every-time I'd order something. * I do not think they wanted or cared for our business at all. In-fact, one of the worst services I've experienced in the area sadly (I had high hopes from this place). Simple, delicious, and doesn't break the bank. This is a great little spot in newton Centre. The double walled tortillas for tacos are a must have for me, which they heat and taste delish. All the fillings and meats are flavorful and fresh. And I got my 2 tacos for $6. That's cheaper than most spots in Boston, and like I said, they really hit the spot.
