We were craving some tacos and decided to stop by La Taqueria for some takeout. I was honestly shocked at the quality. Everything was so fresh flavorful and beautifully prepared. This spot is such a gem. STREET CORN We got two and they were incredible. Sweet corn coated in creamy sauce spices and cheese. Messy in the best way and full of flavor in every bite. Absolutely delicious. SMOTHERED BURRITO Black beans carne asada veggies lettuce and hot sauce all wrapped up and then smothered in salsa verde and salsa roja. This was phenomenal. So saucy so flavorful and perfectly balanced. The carne asada was tender and the sauces soaked right into the tortilla. Loved this so much. INTERNATIONAL TACO COMBO Flour tacos with cilantro lime rice and we chose cajun shrimp pork belly and fried fish. Every taco had its own flavor profile and they were all amazing. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly with a little kick the pork belly was rich and tender and the fried fish was crispy with great texture. So good. INTERNATIONAL TACO COMBO Our second combo came with mango habanero shrimp cajun shrimp and pork belly. The mango habanero shrimp was sweet spicy and juicy and the shrimp itself tasted super fresh. Another great mix of flavors. Loved this variety. FRIED FISH TACOS We ordered two extra and these did not disappoint. Crispy fried fish inside warm flour tortillas with red cabbage for crunch. Light fresh and so satisfying. YUCCA FRIES These were addictively good. Crispy outside soft inside and perfect for dipping. A great side to all the bold flavors. Everything we ordered was flavorful fresh and clearly made with care. Portions are generous and the menu has so many fun options to mix and match. I've been a long-time patron of La Taqueria (particularly the Roslindale location). When we moved closer to Dedham, I was thrilled to find a location nearby. Over the years, the Dedham location has been hit or miss for me, but I continued supporting. The other night I ordered chips and queso, and I'm pretty certain the queso was canned cheese (by taste and consistency). I was very disappointed as I order this item often. I'm not certain if they changed the recipe, or if it was a bad night. Over $100 worth of food was ordered for delivery at 5:30pm online. Delivery time was listed as 6:09pm. At 7:50p, after multiple phone calls, our food was delivered. It was cold and tasted rubbery after it was microwaved. The refried beans would have better if they came from a can. The person on the phone apologized in a condescendingly, agreeable manner. No compensation was offered (nor was it expected) but when a patron spends over $100 for food, at least act as though you care. Sometimes that's all that's needed. After finding a large bone in our chicken tinga flautas the owner got snotty and told me that bones in chicken is "normal". So if you enjoy eating bones this is the spot for you... They did refund our order but that was after having to drive back, show them the bone and argue with them for 10 minutes about how customers typically don't like to eat bones. I never went here cause it's in a corner lot that looks like it'd be impossible to get into - it's the kinda location where you see the name of the restaurant after you've already passed it. But I did finally go and it's much easier to get in and out of and to park than I had imagined. They have an extensive menu - much more extensive than any of the other Mexican restaurants in the immediate area. I got the fajitas and they were incredible. Unlike other places, they don't have the meat already made, warming in chafing dishes. They cook the food after you order it. The chicken was delicously-seasoned and very plentiful. The vegetables were good - they weren't mushy or soft. The tortillas were fresh - the cheese was great. It was all good. And the portions were large. I was really impressed I went back today but this time ordered the same item online. My only quibble today was that they forgot to give me the lettuce, cheese and the pico de gallo. I paid for extra tortillas and got only one additional one. I called to let them know and they didn't really offer me anything other than saying next time to mention that I want the "salad" which is the cheese, the lettuce and the pico de gallo. We ordered a combination of burritos and tacos with chicken tinga and mango shrimp fillings, yucca fries, which were delicious and a kids meal. Thumbs up for offering kids meals for our picky eater. She loved her burger and fries! You can customize your taco toppings and the portions are quite hardy. I ordered 2 tacos and one was sufficient for a meal. They are packed with yummy ingredients.
