TACOS MECHADOS Braised short rib, pickled cabbage, avocado, crema fresca, pico de gallo, flour tortilla. Flavorful and generously filled. The short rib was tender and the toppings added a nice balance. BIRRIA TACOS Beef birria on crisp grilled tortillas with grilled corn, onion, shredded cheese, radish, cilantro. The flavors were bold, but they were a little too salty for my liking. The rice and beans that came with it were amazing though. The Mexican rice was honestly the best I have ever had. SHRIMP CEVICHE Made with cucumber, tomato, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, avocado, yucca crisp. Fresh and bright, but definitely could have used more shrimp. It felt a little too heavy on the vegetables. Nice restaurant, great ambiance and vibe. Would be a great place to visit after work, to watch a game, etc. I went on a Sunday a little before 4:00 for dinner with my family. The food was decent. I don't think it was bad, nor do I think it was outstanding, but it was good. I had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce, which was kind of spicy. I've never had a spicy mole sauce, so I didn't expect it, and the menu description does not specify any spice levels, so it was kind of disappointing because I don't really like very spicy food. I would call it a mild spice, which is fine, but just unexpected. My wife and kids shared the chicken fajitas, and they didn't have any complaints. Again, nothing out of this world, but overall decent food. The chips were good, and I loved the salsas that came with them. We also ordered a side of queso which was OK. Here's what really made the meal not as good as it could have been: the service. Our server was very nice, but also very slow. It was not busy, but it took her a long time to really do anything that we requested. The reason being that after she would leave our table, she'd go toward the front of the restaurant to socialize and hang out with two of her work friends. I'm all for socializing at work, but at least do your job first! For example, we ordered more chips. I watched her carry the chips out of the kitchen to her socializing spot, where she stayed for several minutes, before bringing them to our table. We had to ask the food server, who was way more attentive, for an additional place setting because our server didn't do it when we asked her. In fact, every other employee appeared to actually be working efficiently aside from our server. So, overall, it's a nice place with decent food, but our server kind of ruined the mood for us. We stopped in on a Friday night at 7pm and got seated quickly. Noticed a dirty napkin sitting on our bench seats and gave it to the waitress who apologized. Hostess was polite as was our service. The waitress was very friendly smiling attentive. Atmosphere was lively but not too loud and nice vibes w bar in center of restaurant. Complimentary chips with 3 types of salsas were phenomenal, perfectly spicy and unique. Before the chips were brought out the waitress asked if we wanted guac or queso. We said guac and no idea it was going to cost us $17. If I'd have known that I'd have declined but she should have mentioned that. Was annoyed when I saw the bill. I sometimes wonder if servers do that to get a bigger bill and hence bigger tip. Our food came out quickly. Husband got chicken tacos which he loved and said it was packed w chicken etc and flavorful. I felt like a vegetarian taco and was disappointed. First off I personally don't like the grainy texture of the soft taco and the mushrooms in the taco was an odd flavor. My overall experience going multiple times was fantastic! My friends and I really enjoyed our time there! The food was immaculate for its flavors and price. The free serving of chips & salsa was phenomenal! The chips were crunchy and the spicy salsa (red) was the best out of the three dips (verde & mole). The birria tacos were juicy and crunchy. The mole enchiladas were perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. The enchiladas were packed with flavorful juicy chicken! The desserts had a great balance of sweetness and were filling. Majority of the entrees were reasonably priced with outstanding flavors and texture! By the way the drinks were sweet and powerful! The overall staff was really nice and takes pride in their work. LOCATION: Located in Legacy Place, there's plenty of parking. The space itself is fairly big so it can accommodate quite a few large groups. They also have a patio area as well. FOOD: Lots of drink options and food menu is quite extensive too ranging from tacos to steak to fish. My fellow diners and I shared the shrimp ceviche served with plantain chips. Both were good separately but I think their regular chips paired better with the ceviche. I ordered the short rib taco which was delicious! My fellow diners also enjoyed their meal as well: Skirt steak, fish, and birria tacos. DRINKS: I didn't try any of their alcoholic drinks but had a virgin mojito and that was fantastic ! My wife and I attended a tequila tasting tonight with appetizers and cocktails. The manager showed a great attention to detail by altering the appetizers to meet my wife's dietary needs. The food was all very good and drinks were delicious. The restaurant also has a great mezzanine area and warm lighting throughout the dining room. The best Temazcal out of the chain! I absolutely love this place. It is the best dining option at Legacy Place. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but portions are big and it is truly worth it. So many delicious items and the service is consistently spectacular. I always recommend getting the guacamole to start- it's so fresh and tasty. It's so tasty with the complimentary chips (a hearty portion too) and the 3 dips they give (refried beans in bacon fat and topped with oaxaca cheese, salsa verde (sweet), salsa rojo (spicy)). I've never tried it myself, but I heard their famous lobster guac is a fantastic option as well. I always order the chicken tacos- the portion is big enough to leave full and have some to take to-go. The chicken is so juicy and flavorful, the pico is fresh, and the crema and avocado garnish is spectacular. The Spanish rice with corn is always hot and flavorful, and the black beans are the best with Oaxaca are the best I've ever had. I always put the lime on everything too. I am getting hungry just writing this review. They also have a bunch of delicious menu items such as the fajitas, quesadilla, and fish tacos. Highly recommend if you're at legacy place. Went here to kill time since Kings had a 2-3 hour wait. Just got some apps which weren't bad. Their chips and salsa comes with a smooth refried bean thing, a sweet green salsa and slightly spicy red salsa. None of them were too great but at least it was free. I'm quite surprised by the low review for this restaurant - we ended up here after the power was out at the restaurant we had planned to go to for lunch. There was plenty of seating, and we opted for a high top table by the windows. Our server was great, and for those that have read my reviews before, one of my favorite things to do is ask the server which dish may be better if I'm debating about what to order. Enchilada or tacos? Tacos. Ended up with the fish tacos - which they can grill, blacken or fry (the menu only notes fried). They were very good - two generously portioned flour tacos packed with fish, pickled cabbage, avocado, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli. Lots of flavors and the perfect amount of spice. I'm also not a huge black bean fan, so asked if I could swap it out - and was offered the Mexican street corn as a sub for a side (delicious, flavorful, smothered in a spicy sauce and lots of cheese). I stepped into this place after a night of bowling. Upon first approaching, I ordered my drink with the gentleman, and then a female came to confirm the drink I ordered. They then took over 20 minutes to serve two shots of Patron. My sister was on the phone with my other sister, telling her how much she wanted to bring her to this establishment, so we were trying to find out the time that it would close. The young lady at the bar with the curly hair stated to us that the last call was at 10:30. Mind you, this is something that she just said as we were asking typical questions. They have an outdoor covered patio, a bar area, a main dining room, and an upstairs room that overlooks the restaurant that would be a nice space for a private party. The service was friendly but slow and the food was disappointing. I ordered the chopped salad and the presentation was very dated and arranged in a way that made it difficult to eat. A friend got the short ribs with mac and cheese, which he enjoyed, and another friend got the veggie tacos, beans, and rice which they said was just okay. We also ordered the chips that came with 3 dipping sauces as an appetizer and split some desserts. All in all a very average meal. The bartender never offered me chips and salsa and waited until she saw my empty drink glass to ask me if I wanted to order anything else. They need more than one bartender on busy nights and to train them to be ATTENTIVE. You cannot tell how anyone is going to spend their money just by looking at them. I haven't been here since the year Temazcal opened but I really enjoyed my quick/light dinner here! Our bartender Rafael mentioned to us that the corn chowder was originally a special menu item introduced about a month ago, but due to the feedback decided to add it to their regular menu. Thank goodness for that, I'll probably end up picking up just an order of soup to go in the future, thats how much I enjoyed it! The carne empanadas were delicious! One of the most disappointing things are empanadas that aren't stuffed as much as they have room for -- that isn't a problem here! It was filling where my friend and I both had our own and it felt like the perfect portion. *not pictured* I ordered an espresso martini but without the Irish creme, Rafael (our bartender) made the most amazing espresso martini I've had so far. He was very knowledgeable about the tequila options at the bar as well and honest with his opinion on what to try. He honestly made the experience even more enjoyable for my friend and I. Service was excellent. Let's get that out of the way first. I think the downfall of this place is 2 things, the price and the quantities. We got chips and salsa with guac and queso to start and the queso was good, guac was too, but the salsas were just ok. The verde was basically flavorless, the hot was not hot at all. The middle bacon and cheese was was just ok. I had fajitas and the massive pile of peppers and onions while appreciated was over cooked and very soft. The chicken was great. The put a tiny slice of avacado in it that I felt should be more, or just left off. The additional toppings were just ok. The slaw, I really liked. The rice was dry and flavorless. And it was very over priced. While my marg was good, it wasn't $15 good. Same for the food.. good, but not at all for what we paid. I like it. I like the atmosphere and I loved the service, but with so many Mexican places out there, there's just much better options. read more

I sincerely love the food at this restaurant and Uber Eats it to my house all the time but I've noticed every time I go to the restaurant and sit at the bar my husband and I receive horrible service. This last time was so bad I felt the need to leave a review. I arrived first and received a menu right away but the bartender never came back over to take my drink order. After walking by me numerous times with zero attention, my husband walked in, sat down and immediately was asked what he wanted to drink. Wtf? He ordered his drink and I ordered mine as well as an appetizer. My husband received his drink immediately and shortly after that we received our queso (which is amazing btw) but after 20 minutes my drink was no where to be found, bartender forgot. Eventually I received my drink.... After ordering and surprising getting our second round of drinks we wanted to order our entrees and when I asked the bartender was clearly annoyed. Aside from a bartender with little to no experience, the manager who was around did nothing but help clean the mountain of dirty glasses piling up at the bar. As someone who has worked in the service industry for over a decade, it was crazy to me how one bartender couldn't handle the couple of people that were in the restaurant and be able to clean up as well. We almost left because the service was so bad and to top it off we were charged for other peoples orders and when I brought it to his attention he was pissed. A solid option for your typical Americanized Mexican restaurant. I would come here largely for the ambience, drinks and the social aspect. Not to mention Legacy Place is a convenient meet up spot. Our server, Maggie, was super sweet and patient, while keeping things moving for us. 5 stars for Maggie! The food, however, was average, especially given the price point. The menu is somewhat limited for what you may expect from restaurants like Temazcal. The chips, salsa and bean dip were my highlight of the food. I really appreciated having three options to switch between. For dinner I had the short rib quesadilla, and while the short rib was tender, I think it lacked a bit in flavor. The guac and rajas did help with this a bit. The taquitos were not quite as crispy as I had hoped, and the chicken inside seemed a little mushy. My friend however, really enjoyed them, so perhaps it is a personal preference. The margaritas were solid, no complaints here.
