I actually started using this yelp account for this specific restaurant…read more It may have changed how I view burritos as a whole. Their service was as expected, but their food surely makes up for it. If you like to eat unhealthy amounts like me, you'll be happy to know one order of tacos or a burrito will fill up a fully-grown rhino. I won't be so over dramatic, as you can probably go and get a similarly sized burrito for less, as $12 is just over the threshold to where I can't make this a daily thing. But the thing is about Mastic Pupuseria and Taqueria is that it's a surprise every time. With each bite you can sense the level of experience the person who puts these fine meals together has. I wouldn't let you down guys. I didn't even mention the little things they do like grill the burrito after it's assembled, because I wanted you to experience it for yourself.

The mozzarella sticks were actually really good crispy, hot, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The fries were just average, nothing particularly memorable. The staff was friendly and provided good service. My only concern was that I noticed a few employees were not wearing gloves. Fortunately, the employees handling my food were wearing them, so it didn't directly affect my experience, but it's something management should address. I've noticed at many friendly locations across the island that the quality of the food has declined! I bring my 10-year-old niece to eat there so I'm not expecting anything amazing but my first job was at Friendly's and the food used to be really good! If my 10-year-old niece says it's too greasy to eat then what's the point of going there if they can't even please as a child? She got the shark ice cream and that was legit! I want to support Friendly's because I grew up on them, but with the slow service and low quality food, it's hard to do so! It's a shame that many of these LI staple chains are closing due to quality issues :(
