crummy service, rude employees. sour fruit & overall several mediocre experiences idk why I keep trying.

I walked in and asked them which one of the smoothies they could make vegan friendly and they told me none of them . I know this is a lie and when I told them well it's just non dairy or no yogurt . They said they refused to do such a thing . I just walked out . The straight up rudeness was insane read more

They close before store hours say they are supposed to close. Drove a good distance just to be turned around 7 minutes before they are supposed to be closed, stating that they are in fact closed. Unacceptable service. A chunky mixed lady and a mixed guy with a beard, closed the store down before they were supposed to be closed and would not serve me. read more

Came here today and the place was filthy. One of the workers(brown shirt) spent almost 5 minutes on her phone texting without helping her co-worker out. The woman that actually did the work was sweet and nice and that's why I give it two stars. It took over 20 minutes to get 2 smoothies and a wrap. Update: There is a 3rd worker who came up to help 15 minutes into a rush, she was on her phone while taking customers orders. The lady in the brown sweater continued to get on her phone and was handling food with no gloves and enjoyed a 3 minute phone call on her phone while preparing food. read more

This is a busy place for lunch on a Friday! It was a little chaotic, but the employees were doing their best to keep up. I ordered the Thai chicken wrap and the kale and apple slaw as a side. I was in the mood for a smoothie and Tropical Smoothie is right by my house. I had never been to this location so I decided to try them out. The smoothie itself was tasty I had no problems with that, the service on the other hand was really bad. I don't expect five star service at fast casual spots but this was something else. The employee who took my order and who gave me my drink didn't say two words to me. However they did say plenty of words to their friend who was sitting at the counter. They were dropping the F word like nothing and I mean as a customer just waiting for my drink it was pretty ridiculous. I heard all about how they don't care what time the store opens and they'll get there when they get there. As well as how much they didn't care about their responsibilities. I'm definitely hesitant to go back. read more

Shockingly the smoothie was made perfect and good and not nearly as much ice as in the past visits. I decided to go here because I got an email for the 2.99 immune booster smoothies. I didn't rate this because I've had a different experience at 2 different locations. The Capital Blvd location by the Triangle Towne center always make delicious flavorful smoothies, I always pay for extra banana and peanut butter in my Chia banana boost and it's delicious. Today I went to the location on Wake Forest road right off of the I440 freeway and I was very disappointed with my smoothie it had barely any taste even after paying for extra banana and peanut butter as I usually do. I won't visit that location agaìn. read more

I recently found out about their $5 flat bread + a side and I have been hooked every since. During the week when I am in a rush to get out of the door I always forget to pack my lunch so knowing that Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a good balance of a little healthy + reasonable I always opt for them. I recently downloaded the app which is convenient because I can order my food online and then go and pick it up! On this particular visit I didn't because I was having trouble with the app so I ordered inside. Upon my arrival the first thing that I noticed was the parking there weren't a lot of spaces in the front of the store but they have a side area which had some parking so I parked there. On busier days there is a huge parking lot because it's inside of a shopping center. When I walked into the establishment you couldn't help but notice how busy they were but just as people were coming they were finishing up orders and getting people out. It was lunch time so I am sure this was peak time. They have sitting available both along the walls and at the bar. It did seem a little crowded so I probably wouldn't stay and eat on busier days. I ended up ordering their chipotle chicken wrap and it was DELICIOUS + salt and vinegar chips. It came up to $5.10 which I thought was amazing. I scan my cell phone and it was just that easy. The lady that checked me out was very pleasant, she was very patient with me too. It took about 7 mins for my order to come up and when I got ready to eat it it I was still hot. Love tropical smoothie and I will definitely be back. read more

It has been a while since I visited this Tropical Smoothie, I am just now getting around to writing my review. I know businesses will get busy and have peak hours, however, there must be some type of system in place to navigate through those rushes effectively. It took them well over 30 minutes to get us our food (for two) and smoothies. It was a simple and small order. Once we finally got our food, we could not even enjoy it because there were flies everywhere. The seating is very limited and it is extremely awkward to be seated at a table trying to eat and several strangers are hovering around you waiting to order. Maybe they were short staffed that day, I do not know but I did not have a great experience. Customer service was good as was the smoothies and flatbread. I am not turned off from Tropical Smoothie as a business, just this location at the moment. read more

Wanting a quick yet healthy lunch, I remembered that this place had opened up behind Trader Joe's (right by the burger place). I got lucky because there was only one person ahead of me, so by the time I checked out the menu and figured out what I wanted to try, I was up. (By the time I left, the line was quite long). They have wraps, sandwiches, salads, flatbreads, and of course, smoothies. I tried the combo, and chose half of a Thai Chicken Salad and a Totally Green Smoothie (listed as for a limited time), with Cucumber, Green Apple, Kale, Spinach, Celery & Kiwi. This was a quite large Smoothie, and very fresh and flavorful. A very friendly gal took my order, my payment, and prepared the Smoothie. Another very friendly gal soon brought my salad out. It was small and simple, but fresh and light, which was what I wanted. Really happy to have this healthy-option place so close to work! Next up, I must try the Detox Island Green with Spinach, Kale, Mango, Pineapple, Banana & Fresh Ginger. read more

I have been to this location multiple times and I'm just not happy. The first time this same lady that I guess is your opener, I was standing in the front calmly calling someone to the front... she comes from the back and definitely doesn't greet me doesn't say how are you this morning after taking 10 mins to come to the front and help me she comes and ask what do I want.... The second time I get to your location the store isn't even opened on time.. I'm vegan so Smoothies are my best option for breakfast and it's the closest location to my job. The third time I do an online order.. setting the time for it to be done and ready by 7:15am... I arrive at the location on time ready for my already paid smoothie and guess what ITS NOT READY... I just want this location to be great... we need a better opener with better customer service that cares! read more

I'm from Florida, where Tropical Smoothie is king in my opinion, so I'm used to AMAZING customer service when I come into this place, unfortunately that was not what I encountered at this particular location. First off, it was dirty.......the trash was overflowing and the floor was filthy, but there were like 3 or 4 people working, who is the manager and how is this place not clean O_o Second, the cashier didn't greet anyone as we approached her station and she just stared, waiting for you to place your order. It was awkward and she wasn't smiling which made me lose my smile.......smh. Third, the best part about this entire experience is that the young lady who was working her tail off by making the smoothies for EVERYONE in line, without having us wait very long, was amazing! You can tell she takes pride in her job. I wish I had gotten her name. read more

Great option for a quick, healthy lunch. Staff is always pleasant and attentive. Give great recommendations and know their products well. I love the "smoothie and a half" option. You get a pretty large size smoothie and pair it with half of a sandwich or a salad. I like getting the Island Green Detox (the ginger ratio is perfect) and half of the cranberry chicken sandwich. Place is always clean as well. Wouldn't mind eating in if I had to. read more

I haven't tried the food yet but this Tropical Smoothie Cafe location produces yummy smoothies that fill me up! All the ingrediants i've had in my drinks have been fresh, and you can't beat the size for the price. Service is also pretty quick, though with only one or two people behind the counter it sometimes gets backed up when there's a rush of people around breakfast or lunch. Just a heads up, you can get a discount on your smoothie if you come in between 7am - 9am! I believe it's $2 off which is a great deal! read more

Won't be back here. Really terrible customer service and it took us 20 mins to get our smoothies. Everyone that was ahead of us got the wrong orders. It was so unorganized watching them make the smoothies and it was clear no one had any idea what they were doing. I don't blame the workers- I blame the owners for not training them properly. There was one lady making smoothies and she had the worst attitude- ran her mouth and cursed every time she got an order wrong. When we finally got our order they were out of coconut so they offered yogurt but I'm sensitive to dairy.. again not the workers fault. Just terrible management. read more

I visited this location after lunch time thinking it will be less busy but I was wrong. I ordered 2 smoothies and a wrap and it took almost an hour to get my full order and it was 3 customers in front of me and my wife. The staff was friendly and courteous. I love Tropical Smoothie and I often go to the one on Miami Blvd in Morrisville for lunch but this location is not even close to as good. The food is great but there's always an issue when I order from this location. The first time they completely forgot one of our sandwiches. We were on our way to a concert and didn't realize until we were almost there so one of us were out of dinner that night. Every time after that I've ordered on the app on our way Home and I might as well just go in because our food is NEVER ready on time! It's currently 7:55, I prefer food at 7:30 for ASAP and have been waiting since 7:41 when I got here, which was the time it was supposed to be ready. UPDATE: finally asked AGAIN if my food was ready. Turns out it was sitting in a bag by where they were prepping the food and no one thought to bring it over to me nor did anyone else who saw me standing there ever ask to help me until I finally spoke up. I'm unfortunately done with this location. read more

Never open on time always out of everything, rude staff, idk how this place is still operating.

When I entered the place, the girl seemed to be very busy and didn't even say hi. But as soon as she started servicing me, the customer service improved. This is the second time people at this store do this. I place a curbside order and i never received it. I saw 4 employees in the store drinking their smoothie, talking, playing around. I called the store, it will ring and nobody picked up. I called 4 times and still no answer. I had to come inside, to request a refund and they refused to give me one. I didn't even drink the smoothie. The girl told me that the phone was no working; however, they phone was thrown in the counter with a full battery. She also said they weren't doing any curbside orders so i asked her why they didn't put a sign if they have a lot of signs at the door about masks and other things. She was very rude and unhelpful. She also refuse to give me the name of a manager. read more
