I've been a fan of tropical smoothie for over 10 years and I was excited to see them here in Mobile since we've moved here. I personally think the smoothies are better than smoothie king, and more value for the price since they really only have one size. I've also never had a bad tasting smoothie from here, which I can't say about other places. I'm a huge fan of the blimey limey! They also offer wraps, sandwiches, flatbread, salads and other meals. Recently I've had the chipotle chicken club and chicken bacon ranch flatbread, yum! I love that you can order ahead and pop in to pick it up, they are speedy about preparing food and having it ready by pickup time, makes it easy to grab good food on a time crunch. Oh and don't forget about national flip flop day over the summer! They used to give out free jetty punch smoothies to customers wearing flip flops but I know it's changed over the year. I waited in the drive through to order for about 40 minutes after I was told to wait a minute before taking my order. I ended up not even ordering and just driving away. This isn't the first time I've had to wait over 30 minutes at this location. They need to get new workers or better management because it is seriously ridiculous to have to wait that long. What is that saying about giving negative stars...I would have after getting into what turned into a screaming match out to my vehicle by one of their "managers" I pulled up and checked in for my curbside order and just a minute later "she" came out with a smoothie only, confused I let her know I had a wrap, she let me know "I only deal with smoothies" (never had an order delivered to me curbside one item at a time) so after more then 10 minutes went by and "she" was hanging out on the patio and there was only one customer inside, I went in to look for my own food. Explained what had happened and the girls inside apologized for their coworker and said she should have let them know she took my smoothie because my food was just waiting on the counter! Leaving I told her I waited 10 minutes because of her and oh wow did I pick the wrong day to give feedback because the obscenities started flying...we even went back inside to talk to her coworkers together and she said it wasn't her problem, and she was the manager...so I repeatedly said as a manager you should care about what just happened here! And then leaving she's outside as well, then she got personal, saying I was pathetic and I don't even make enough money as her...admittedly I didn't let her speak to me this way freely and stepped back and said she could say that without my back being turned! And her other coworker blonde hair hyped her up the whole time! But like your "manager" said it didn't matter to her because she had been off the clock for 40 minutes and I should just be lucky she brought me my smoothie at all! Why was she getting behind the counter and touching my smoothie if she clocked out! So much wrong with just one employee! I hope she quits like she threatened to! Oh and this manager also said all corporate complaints go to her so nothing will happen to her! Tropical smoothie on airport blv next to wing stop has been my go to place for great smoothies and sandwiches, but I'm not writing a review about the restaurant. I'm writing this in hopes that tropical smoothie will see the effort I have seen from one particular employee who is in there almost every time I go in there and is always giving it 110% of what he's got. He has a MUCH higher sense of urgency than any other employee there and actually the others are just lazy and look slow but this guy is always moving with everything it he's got and getting smoothies out FAST. GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE. I wish I knew his name but he deserves more than what he's getting credited for that's for sure. We usually go to the one in daphne and it's always great so I don't know what happened. The only good thing about our visit today was the smoothies. The sandwiches we got looked like a toddler had thrown them together, plus we got an apple and banana for our sides, but wasn't able to enjoy them due to the banana being rotten and the apple looked like someone had used it for batting practice. I'm highly disappointed because I love this company and their food. I'm hoping they're just having a bad day and it's not always like this. I will continue to go to the daphne location but I don't think I'll be returning to the one on airport. read more

I'm a frequent-flyer at this place, because the food is great, and the staff is wonderful. The manager (owner?), who is around often, is VERY good at making sure that customers are happy. Their smoothies are delicious, as are their sandwiches. (Don't forget to try a chocolate chip cookie, too! They're great!!) The prices are a bit higher than you'd find at sub shops, but I think it's OK, as the food and smoothies are worth it. As stated, I come here a lot, and I plan to keep coming, as long as they keep making amazing wasabi roast beef sandwiches, soft cookies, and superb smoothies! Went in there 3 days ago and felt very out of place. The manager was provoking fights with the staff and yelling. It took 15 minutes for my food to be ordered then the yelling between the manager and staff members continued. I felt so out of place and took my child and left without our food. The Tropical Smoothie café is not a family friendly environment. I've been to this tropical smoothie a few times. If you just want a smoothie and aren't worried about waiting in line forever, then it's not bad. However, every single experience I've had with this place is a LONG wait in line-- even if it's only one or two cars ahead of you. My experiences with the food is why I only gave two stars. A doordash order I made a few months ago included two wraps-- one was made correctly and the other (supposed to be a chicken caesar wrap) was ONLY lettuce. I thought it could have been an honest mistake but after visiting more I've realized the food is half assed. The wraps/flatbreads are either slung together so sloppily that you don't want to eat them, or they're just completely wrong all together. Today, they were out of half of the ingredients needed for what I ordered, and waited until we were at the window to tell us-- after we had already spent 30 minutes in line. When she asked if we wanted something different, she handed us a menu and then it took her at least 5-7 minutes to return. My boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed in both the service and quality of our visit today. We will only be going to smoothie king now when we want a smoothie. read more

I waited ten minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence and take my order. They were apparently only concerned with drive through business. I walked out and went somewhere else for lunch. I love their smoothies and probably will give them my future business through the drive through, but I will not return for a sit-down meal. read more

They actually had the place running how it should and whoever the new manager is some dark haired girl keeps the lobby closed down I've heard her disrespecting employees yelling at them .
