What in the world happened here? Service used to be great, now you're waiting over 30 minutes for a pick up order.

The smoothies and bowls are good but yesterday I ordered curbside on the app and waited for 20 minutes before calling and they said they would bring it out. I then waited another 10 minutes before having to eventually just go in and get it. I asked what I need to do to not have that happen again and he said to make sure I was parked right in front. I went on my way to work today and did just that and same thing. I waited 20 minutes before calling and she said on the phone, but they no longer do curbside. Why do they have curbside as an option on the app if they don't do it? I had to wait a half an hour both days without any communication that I needed to go in to get it. Curbside does not mean you go in to get it. Now my smoothie is melted. read more

I've been to this location many times as it is the only Tropical Smoothie Cafe in my area. Today I had such a great experience thanks to Eric who greeted me right away and simply displayed such a positive attitude. Customer service always plays a big role in my reviews and I was very pleased with the customer service today. This location is super cute, trendy, clean and offers plenty of seating both inside and outside. My favorite smoothie is actually a retired smoothie and I'm always so glad they can still make it when requested (try it, it's called the Tropicolada). I've only had their smoothies and cookies but I do plan on trying their food sometime soon. The Hurricane smoothie was really good, too! read more

The manager Susan is as unprofessional as they come. She frequently walks around with her horrific stomach exposed (with customers in the building), she brings the smell of cigarettes into the establishment and gives the okay on products that put customers at risk. To further elaborate she allowed plastic shards to be "picked out" of an Açaí base container to serve to the public (I was present in a group chat that displayed such event). The staff besides her are well intentioned however many are leaving or plan on leaving due to her volatile and rude nature. There's been black mold in the ice machine and occasionally food prepped is done so without gloves or washed hands. Take your business elsewhere if you care for yourself. read more

I don't even know how they are still open. it's so dirty in here. There were a crap ton of gnats as soon as I walked through the door, trash on the floor. Dirty tables. And mind you, the store had just opened a few minutes before I got there. I went to use the bathroom and it was so nasty and infested with gnats that it felt like a cheap gas station bathroom. I felt like I'd catch aids just from breathing the air in there. There was leftover piss from one of the customers and it looked like a marinated lemon surprise. the sink was falling off the wall and there was a huge hole in the wall from the door handle hitting it so much. the outside of the trash cans look like they are infested with the bacteria from osmosis Jones. The smoothies and jalapeño corn was good but the wraps were terrible. I got a veggie wrap that barely had rice and beans and a chicken jerk wrap that was almost as tiny. Rice and beans are really cheap so I'm not sure why they skimped on it. I am a small person and this wasn't filling it was mostly a tortilla. What is shitshow at 1 p.m. today. I ordered curbside pickup nobody came outside so I went inside and they couldn't find my order they said it would be ready. In the interim the shakes finally got ready as I waited 20 min and they are melting... They asked me for my order number I show it and they said oh it's been ready the whole time sitting here getting freaking cold now I got cold sandwiches and melted smoothies what a disaster today. Why 4 stars? A new spot that popped up in the area. I have been before but it has been a long time at a different location. The food was decent and fresh, the smoothie was recommended by an employee and was very tasty and the facility was clean. Not much more to ask, but not a 5 star drop what you are doing spot. Those are rare. The highlight of the trip was a friendly employee by the name of Liam. He explained a lot, did it with a smile, made recommendations and is the type that makes your spot get an extra star. read more

It seems more like a sonic fast food place. The chicken was terrible on my bowl, the romaine lettuce was so cheap. This is 100% not healthy at all, I might have just ate at McDonald's. Always friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. I can tell you that the food and smoothies are always excellent. That kind of employee behavior is a culture issue, and I expect unsatisfactory service is commonplace at Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Lutz.
