Karl is one of the reasons me and my family have come back to Root'd because of the connection he has made with my children and the genuinely kind soul he is. While I can't speak for others, Karl has always provided us with an amazing serving experience and has really made us feel at home at Root'd, while the food is great, his service is what has always stood out to me here. Before other people go judging him on one shitty night he had they should realize that he is just trying his best and one bad night does not define Karl, because I have seen so much more out of him. Imagine if you judged everyone based on one night off their life? Doesn't seem very fair, does it. I have gone to Root'd long enough to know the consistency and value that Karl brings to this company, and I hope everyone else can realize that too. We did not have a reservation and arrived around 8:30 a.m. The staff told us we would have to wait two hours to be seated because we did not have a reservation. At that time, however, there were many empty tables inside the restaurant. I asked why we could not sit at one of the empty tables, and they said all of them were booked. I asked, "Are you sure? Every single empty table is booked?" They said yes. They told us to come back around 10:30 or wait nearby in case someone canceled and a table opened up earlier. I also asked if we could sit outside. They said the outdoor seating area was not open yet and would not open until 9:30. Because my young child was very hungry, I decided to wait. We were standing inside the restaurant, but the staff told us we had to wait outside. So we did. All of us stood outside, including my 65-year-old parents. After a while, I saw a white couple go inside. I clearly heard them say they did not have a reservation, but they were seated inside immediately. After waiting for an hour, we were finally seated outside at around 9:30. However, when we got outside , I noticed there were already customers sitting at tables and being served food. That means they have been seated for a while. I was very angry, but I did not want to ruin the day for my child and my parents, who did not fully understand what had happened. I went inside to see where my pancakes were and they said there was a mistake and they were still working on it.
