So I never knew about this chain smoothie cafe, but decided to come by since it was near the hotel and I was looking for a healthy lunch option. I ordered the Carribean Jerk Chicken Wrap ($10.29) with Detox Island Green Smoothie ($6.49) combo. I like that you can add a smoothie to any food item for an additional $6.49. The smoothie comes in one size, but it's a huge cup. The drink is refreshing and well balanced. As for the wrap, this was just ok. Even though it had a carribean jerk sauce, it was very one noted. The restrooms are better maintained than the entire restaurant. This chain needs to divorce the idea of serving anything but smoothies. If you want to quickly grab a smoothie and nothing else, this is an acceptable place to go. If you want literally anything else, be prepared to wait close to an hour for your food. My order was placed at exactly 12:34:55PM and I did not receive my food until 1:33PM. Essentially one hour it took for me to get my food. Luckily my job isn't strict about my hours otherwise I would've literally had to leave and essentially burn those $19 I spent on the Smoothie and Flatbread. I couldn't even enjoy it properly after waiting so long even though I made the order online, which, the whole purpose behind an online order IS to avoid waiting around. There is a "Pickup Area" but they might as well put flowers and picture frames around it for decoration because that's literally all it is: a decoration. The employees keep the food behind the register rather than in the Pickup Area so you're left standing around waiting for one of the three employees to even acknowledge your presence (good luck) so that they can tell you, after you've been there half an hour, that your food is still not ready. They did have a fourth employee but she went to lunch DURING THE LUNCH HOUR. Maybe I'm unwell for thinking this but isn't the lunch hour the exact time you want all hands on deck at an eating establishment, especially when you're incapable of serving your customers in a timely manner? Again, I could just be out of my mind for even thinking such a thing but I worked retail before and I don't remember the people in charge being this incompetent. It should have been self-evident that the place was a dump from the parking lot. Such a massive waste of space for such a location. The amount of parking spots it holds doesn't even make sense for this place as you can't even fit that many people in the building. There are over 40 parking spots but not even 10 people can fit in the building without it being crowded and there's no way you can fit 30 adults in there. Tear the place down and put a mechanic shop there or something that's actually useful. The only saving grace was the bathroom. There are two, single-person bathrooms that are cleaner and more welcoming than the whole restaurant. If the whole experience was just about the bathroom, I'd rate it 5/5 stars. Perfect! But the whole Tropical Smoothie Cafe experience itself is #2, if you know what I mean. read more

I come here on occasion whenever I'm feeling a smoothie. My brother really likes this place but I think it's just a little better than average. The ambiance is feels slightly run down in this location as it is right off the main highway and the parking lot is always messy. I usually get the Mango Magic with Protein which comes out to around $8. Not bad for a smoothie but still steep for what you get. They only have one size for their smoothies. I do not normally write a review after my first visit but I'll make an exception here. My co-worker and I (after deciding what to do for lunch) decided to come here. She is a regular and I, a first timer. It's a very simple restaurant, bright with the big windows in the front, clean, they are constantly wiping down the tables and friendly team. There is a minimum amount of seating and blenders working hard in the background.. I had a simple 1/2 turkey sandwich, and a Sunrise, Sunset Smoothie. Both items were good. The turkey sandwich was tasty and fresh and the smoothie was cold, thick and full of the fruit flavor I expected... Strawberries, pineapple, mango & orange juice. I will definitely update this review when I return. Visit 2: I really enjoy this place! I had an Asian Chicken wrap with a Pomegranate Smoothie. Asian Chicken was a little more spicy than I envisioned and very good. The Asian peanut sauce was rich and flavorful with some heat in the background. Big pieces of chicken and vegetables. I always go to tropical smoothie to get my protein shakes after my workouts because this location is the near my gym so I come here often. I would recommend another location because this place takes 30 minutes to get your order through. It's usually really packed which isn't bad for the business but it's a small location, and it needs more organization on how people take orders because people stand in the middle of the store even after they ordered and you're waiting thinking they didn't order. They also need to organize how they take orders because they stack the drinks and never call on anyone. The cashier just stands there and doesn't give the drinks to people despite there being stacks of smoothies already done, so there's a longer wait. They need to train their workers better. One person should do each task to avoid more delays. They are all over the place when it gets packed. Often times when they are packed they get orders wrong. It's been the 5th time they always get my order wrong. I get so annoyed because it's still money to add the supplements. I know when I'm not getting the supplements in my drink because it taste and looks different. I always have to go back into the store and tell them to re-do it again, and it makes me feel bad (I don't want to be a Karen) because I know they are already busy but it's unacceptable when they do it SO FREQUENTLY. As you can see all of the reviews have been from months and months back, even years, service here is below average and they are slow as f**k when it come to food AND smoothies. if you're going to order and pickup food, place your order at least 30 minutes before because they will have you waiting and waiting for one smoothie and a bag of chips it's unbelievable. Monday 7/24/23 about 4:30 pm 3 people on staff 2 up front 1 in the back. 4 customers waiting of which 1 was a staff member likely heading off shift and home. She waited for her items and with bright blue shirt pushing the Tropical Smoothie mantra .. left for her destination... remaining 3 customers stood around for about 15 minutes just waiting for ANYONE to say "May I help you ?" .. OR "there is a shift change give us a moment" OR "we've run out sorry " anything would have been better than .. the 2 up front never say a word just sort of move from one side to the other , to the back then , come back up front leaving us all just standing there after about 20 min mark a crewman says something but to the other crewman not even making eye contact with any of the patrons. So .. with that they go back to moving back and forth picking up this putting down that but almost as though its after hours ... I check my watch and politely leave followed by another. On the way out we notice that the whole ambiance of the place has eroded .. landscaping not done.. or anything. So im thinking something is going on here . . I absolutely love the food here but this location was a hot mess. We tried to order food but there was a 35-45 minute wait for food because they were working on a large catering order. Why can't they cook customer orders and catering orders at the same time? There were 20 people behind the counter... and then our smoothies took like 20 minutes and no one was helping us or asking what we needed. I'll always love getting Tropical Smoothie but maybe not from this location. I haven't had a issues at this location until I went there at 5pm on 2/22/19 and they were closed. Nobody inside, all doors locked and nothing posted on the windows or doors about being closed for any reason. I double checked their hours on the door and saw that they are supposed to be open from 7am-9pm. I then called the store before leaving and the call doesn't even go through. I don't understand why they were closed and had no notice of any kind posted. Okay, I've given this place a lot of business over the last few years. That ended today. I placed an online order at about 10:45 am for a 12:00 pm pickup. I arrived at the store at 12:00 pm and was completely ignored. I had to wait over 20 minutes for my order. I get only 30 minutes for lunch which is why I order ahead. I'm done. Never going back here again. Also, they hardly ever get things right. They never give me the chips I want (they are on the online menu). I used to order a grilled cheese sandwich . 9 times out of 10 they screw that up. They have even left the American cheese off when I asked them to only leave the tomato spread off. They give you a sandwich with only one side grilled, the other side is un-grilled plain bread. This place is really dirty outside. I would say the owners/mangers "don't care".
