We ordered an açaí bowl and jerk chicken burrito. I was expecting the açaí bowl to be good, but honestly didn't have much expectation from the burrito. The açaí bowl was great as expected, but the birrito was amazing. The flavor, the tenderness of the chickens the filling to tortilla ratio - everything was great! It was a pleasant surprise for us. This has been my go to place for a quick and healthy smoothie back in Phoenix, especially after a long morning run like today. Knowing we will be having happy hour and a feast later this afternoon/evening, this was the perfect stop for something light. First time to this location, conveniently located next to Trader Joe's where I'll be picking up drinks and food for tonight's happy hour at our house. I've gotten both their food and smoothies in the past at other locations, but I have learned throughout the years that the food is a bit bland so I have stayed away from it. Their smoothies are outstanding and this location did not disappoint. I usually get a smoothie or a bowl and have them throw a scoop of protein in if I've already done some exercise. I got the Island Green smoothie today (spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, banana) with added protein. Fresh and delicious, 5 star smoothie as always. The girl at the counter was super friendly, and the place was very clean and tidy. 5 star service for sure. So why only 2 stars? As soon as I walked in, the music was playing abnormally loud. Not only that, but F bombs were flying from the first song I heard as I was placing my order. I made eye contact with another patron who was very surprised as well. I've been known to throw a few sassy words out there myself here or there, but this was definitely out of place. For an establishment that serves families and kids, or any restaurant for that matter, this is highly out of the ordinary. It was definitely a staff member's personal music, and not the typical satellite radio or radio station. If my kids were with me today, I would have walked out right away. This place is great for a quick bite to eat, drink or both. You can dine in, grab and go or order ahead/delivery. The place was very clean and there were plenty of places to sit inside. The smoothie menu is located on the left side of the menu and your heartier foods are located on the right side of the menu. I ordered a smoothie (Pomegranate Plunge). Very easy to order at the counter. The cashier was super friendly and you can leave a tip. My smoothie was ready within 5 mins of ordering. Their smoothies have always been top notch. The coldness of the drink, smooth texture and freshness of the ingredients will give your taste buds a kick. Smoothies come in a nice filling size. I will definitely visit this location again. I love Tropical Smoothie Cafe on New Garden Road. And this is why. Every time I have gone into this store, the staff is welcoming and super friendly and the store itself is super clean. The only downside is most of their smoothies add turbinado sugar except for the Detox Green smoothie. You can request no sugar added though which is a plus if you remember to do so. My order was the Detox Green smoothie(spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, and banana. With no added sugar) with add ins: whey protein, collagen, B12, fat burner! I've visited this tropical smoothie cafe twice in the last couple weeks. I stopped by one afternoon after school for a quick pick me up and decided on the Triple Berry Oat which included whey protein. I prefer smoothies with the protein powder, not necessarily for taste but for nutritional value. It was a little slow but they were clearly busy and working as fast as they could. The next time I decided to place the order ahead on the app. I ordered the same smoothie since I loved it so much! Ordering ahead worked well. I cannot express how much I love this place! It has become a favorite of mine. I want to say the employees are fast and super kind. They are always on top of their work. And the few times I've seen them busy, wait times aren't long. Such a great morning crew! Now the food. The smoothies have been great I've tried about 6 different kinds and they never disappoint! Their seasonal ones are the best though! So make sure to check those out before they are gone for the season. I've had their quesadillas, flatbreads and wraps. I think the flatbreads are amazing. We were the only ones inside restaurant & we both ordered different bowls that we had never had! Unfortunately, they placed the wrong lids on top of them, so after we had started eating, I took mine to the counter & they told me which one it was but that wasn't the one I had ordered! All they said was -they put the lids on the bowls to tell the difference, but never acknowledged that they put the lids on the wrong one or even said they were sorry! I've been to this location several times in the last 2 years. I visit TSC weekly. Just not this particular location. They are very inconsistent. There was one worker who I knew when they were there my smoothie would be made correctly. Twice I've had them remake my smoothie due to it being bland and colorless. I have been to two other locations here in Greensboro, with the one by the college being my fave. I'm not sure what process they use to prep their fruits but something needs to be changed. I have been a customer for several years and I have to say, who ever is in charge now....is getting it done right. The current staff there is the best they have ever had. The food quality is finally good and they are beyond courteous and friendly now. Before the food was thrown together and burnt most of the time. Now, the flatbreads are super soft and so tasty. I wouldn't go here for a meal with friends or anything, but Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a fine place to grab a decently healthy lunch. The smoothies are very good, though the food is a bit lacking. The half sandwich and a smoothie deal is pretty good value, and will set you right for a few hours. On my first visit I had the Avocolada smoothie and a jerk chicken wrap, advertised as the special outside. The smoothie was GREAT, but the jerk chicken wrap was just kind of sad. The chicken didnt have anything resembling a jerk flavor... just basic spiced chicken with other stuff on it. Noted. The second time I had a mixed berry smoothie and a half club sandwich. Again, the smoothie was really good, but the sandwich was just meh. Not a lot of meat... just kind of there to help fill you up. I had good service from the employees both times. Friendly and prompt. STAY AWAY! We were in Greensboro this past weekend for a soccer showcase and my daughter wanted a smoothie. The kitchen looked filthy and trash was overflowing in the trash cans. As we were leaving, another customer inquired about her online food order, and all we could hear from the back was, "We got no chicken, no veggies, no nothing!" This location is the worst I've been to. they might've been a little short staffed (3 staffers) when I went in at 5pm on a Monday but regardless they were lacking any efficiency, accuracy, good communication with guests and staff, and not very welcoming to their guests. I waited about 25 minutes for my initial order which they got wrong so I brought it back and it was 5:40pm before they finally made it. Waiting 40 minutes for a carry out is unacceptable and unnecessary no matter how many people are running a shift. The food was so-so. I recall the other locations having the paper liner in the quesadilla box but they just put the quesadilla straight in the box. Got lunch there today for the office. 4 orders. My Thai chicken salad was missing dressing and wontons. Nice dry salad. No sides were included for any of our meals. One order asked for spinach instead of romaine but it was all romaine. They were out of Acai bowls when we arrived, and that was on our order. I love this place, been coming here for years. Obviously it's more of a summer/ warmer time of the year. But the food is always good, I usually get the Breakfast banana sandwich and it never disappoints. It's slightly heavy and filling, great for a fast to-go breakfast. The service could be a little better but service is always decent. I also always get the same smoothie usually, the "sunrise sunset" with extra added on so you get your sweet, refreshing, extra greens, and vitamins to help you throughout the day. First time here. My first impression was not great. It seems they location is run by teenagers. I think that is great! But they need an adult manager with enough maturity and experience to create a good work culture. They could work on their work ethic and customer service. Products seem good. We recently discovered the TSC in Charlotte and had no idea one had just opened in GSO. At both locations the food was excellent. There were four of us today and everyone agreed it was awesome.
