The couple that works there knows nothing about customer service. Went in today and the woman, who is always there, took my order after I waited for a couple mins. I was the only one in there. After she took my order, she went back to doing something. The man, who is also always there, was just eating something on the side. Again, I am the only one in there. He finally decides to start making my smoothie. He finished my smoothie and instead of giving it to me right away, he starts making an online order. I asked him if I could have my smoothie and he told me, 'To hang on a second!' He finally gave me my smoothie with a face like I was a problem. They offer curbside pickup but when ordering through the app it won't go through. I asked if someone could bring them out and the owner or manager said to just come in. I explained that I just had knee surgery a few weeks ago and couldn't walk in. His response was simply "not my problem". This is for a pickup order at Tropical Smoothie from their app. Thought it was a complex order and wasn't sure if it'll be ready by the time I popped in. But it was ready! Ordering on the app was super easy, did it as I headed out the door for the pickup. The staff was friendly and acknowledged me with a smile and a hi as I dropped in for my pickup. But one opened really close to me and I was curious, so I was going in to get a menu and I was surprised at all the food they had I ended up coming back to get a flat bread which came with chips. This was on a grubhub pickup. We placed our order and our driver was only given the drink portion of our order. When we confronted the driver he said that the drinks were the only thing the restaurant gave him. He was unwilling to go back to the store and pickup our order. The drink order was not complete that we received. We called the restaurant and they confirmed that they still had our food. A chipper "sorry" and that was it. No offer to get the food to us or anything else. We ended up spending the next half hour cancelling our order with Grubhub and ordering somewhere else. I don't generally review a place after only one or two visits; but I've been a fan of the Tropical Smoothie Cafe chain, and felt compelled to share how good my two (thus far) experiences were with this new addition to our neighborhood. Their location is very convenient, the staff all seem nice, and everything was tasty - I think folks should try them out. I got a wrap and smoothie shortly after the Deerfield Tropical Smoothie Cafe opened, and I was impressed at how "with it" their staff were despite the store having only been officially open a week. The hummus veggie wrap was delicious, and the "Peanut Paradise" smoothie was pretty good (a little sweeter than I anticipated, but that's on me for forgetting to ask for the milder pea protein instead of their whey powder). My second trip was almost a year later, and the service and food were just as good as my first visit. The Thai chicken wrap was excellent (reminded me of something I got from Tea Harbor before they closed), and I loved the "Chia Banana Boost" with peanut butter powder. I really REALLY wanna try them for breakfast, next - that Southwest egg wrap is calling my name! For the past year, I haven't been in the Deerbrook area very much... But I've been around more and more. I'm definitely going to be stopping here more frequently, and I'll update my review. Thus far, however, my two visits have been very positive. Worst service ever!!! I was the only customer at the store when I placed the order. I told cashier pretty clearly that I need to go since I have a meeting soon. I even gave them 15% tips. What makes me angry is that one of the female employees purposely delayed my food while I kept telling her I was in the rush. She kinda ignored what I am saying and going away to take care of other customers. And refuse to give my food after I beginning to question about her. This post is not about the quality of food at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. My experience with the food quality has consistently been positive. This is about service and customer experience. I walked in today at 7:15am, 15 minutes after the store opened. Attempted to order my usual flatbread peanut butter crunch sandwich along with a smoothie. The person taking my order told me "the ovens are not on yet", so I could not order my flatbread without waiting. Maybe my expectations are too high, but shouldn't the ovens been on and ready to go when the doors open at 7am? I was the only customer in the store by the way, so it's not like there was no time to get them fired up. Maybe the employees at this location need to get in earlier so they are prepared. Ordered online and it was done at the estimated pick up time! Lots of space at this location, employees were friendly. The interior is cute, they have tables and a separate pick up area for delivery services (oh hey, they deliver which is always nice). Feels very clean and in line with what a healthy food place would look like. Ordered the chicken pesto flatbread, it's comparable to the Starbucks turkey & pesto panini - both are great. Detox smoothie is awesome! Only thing I'd change is the same thing that another customer brought up, the packaging! Hopefully they find a way to switch over to something more earth friendly or compostable soon! read more

Come help support a new local smoothie spot in Deerfield! They have so many different healthy options. They recently opened in a small strip mall on waukegan rd in Deerfield. They offer delivery and in store option. They also offer hot food, like wraps and sandwiches! Its a great lunch and dinner spot especially going into the spring and summer, where you may want something lighter. I love the tropical smoothie with pineapple and kale. My kids even ask to have a smoothie from here, they don't even know theres spinach in it, lol. read more

Super excited about this new option in Deerfield! I had the Hawaiian Citrus Wrap with a side of sweet potatoes. Wrap was tasty - heavy on the fresh veggies (by which I mean not just iceberg lettuce, which adds bulk but not much else). Chicken was big pieces and tasted high quality. The maple roasted sweet potatoes were surprisingly good. What a nice change from the normal chips side dishes everyone else has (which of course TSC has too). I look forward to trying their corn as well. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I haven't had a smoothie yet! Too cold today, but I'm sure I'll be back! read more

Just saw this place was open and I love smoothies so I had to try one. I got the Açaí Berry Boost and subbed the bananas (I hate bananas!) They are very good but be aware they add sugar (that's the reason for the one star off). When I tried it, It seemed a little sweet and did a little research. (I had my sig other pic one up for me so I didn't look at the order online menu or else I would've seen, I just looked at the menu online). I also tried the jalapeño corn and that was sooo good! I could eat it every day! Perfect amount of heat to make you sweat just a little. Will definitely be back! read more
