This is the 3rd time I have had an issue with this location. The first time I order a smoothie with dates and I found myself chewing on hard particles. The 2nd time, I placed an order for delivery. The delivery driver showed up 40 minutes after they picked up the order (and the travel time is only 5 minutes) but advised her child was ill in the car and threw up before they delivered my cold and incorrect order. I contacted the store and was told a manager would get back to me......CRICKETS!!! This last time, I ordered on the app and went to pick up my order on the way to the office. The staff did not show up and they have not answered the line to advise what they would do to fix the issue. The service regarding these issues has been horrible. read more

Today around 3pm, I visit the crossroads Tropical smoothie location to pickup my mobile order. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I had my order in the queue and that I get my food on time. Little things like that make me want to come back no matter the distance to this specific location. The young gentleman in there were hard at work and very respectful when talking to customers. Tropical Smoothie Café -- another store in the chain. This one has recently opened in Crossroads. Since I've never been to any of the others, I can't comment on whether it's exactly the same, but it is a chain and that's sort of the entire chain concept. It's fine for what it is, but I don't think it's the kind of place I'd frequent. My one venture into a smoothie left me with an "errrr" or maybe a "meh". The smoothie was blueberry colored, had the seeds of the strawberry, but tasted like a watered down banana drink. Not that there was anything wrong with it, for the price it was okay, but it didn't leave me wanting to be a regular visitor. I suppose on a hot day a cold smoothie might be just right, underwhelming taste be damned. On the other hand, the food choices looked promising and I'd be willing to try again to sample one of the bowls or flatbreads. On the plus side -- the employees had the customer-service thing down right. It's a maybe or a maybe not kind of place for me. read more

Located in Crossroads near Men's Warehouse. I walked here from the Mazda dealership in the morning and they were one of few businesses open that early! Just like your standard tropical smoothies. I had no issues ordering or with my food and smoothie. The food came out fast and the staff was friendly. I even breastfed my son in the shop with no issues! read more

I was kind of disappointed that the smoothie was kind of watery. The service was fine (only 1 guy working) but it was late and kind of slow. The flavor was OK but my preference is for a thicker product. I will go back to try to food offerings though. read more

This pains me to write because I REALLY love this chain overall, but this location needs some serious staff training. My mother and I went in for lunch yesterday at my suggestion. She had never been before and I had her totally hyped up for the food. When we entered, the place was swamped and the two employees were really working hard to keep up with the orders. The young lady making the food was particularly impressive. We felt bad that there were 20-30 customers in the store and only two workers, so when we saw a third worker come in we were relieved for the others working. However, the new employee came in, dropped her stuff and immediately started making smoothies without ever stopping to wash her hands or put on gloves. Had I ordered a smoothie, I would have gotten a refund and left at that point. One of the other workers brought us our water and when we mentioned to her that the other girl hadn't even washed her hands she just walked away without speaking. She did walk up to the employee in question and tell her we had mentioned it to which she replied, "busted". She then washed her hands, but her hygiene didn't improve at all as she was constantly going back and forth between handling money and making smoothies without ever washing her hands or putting on gloves in between tasks. It's the height of flu season and even if it wasn't, this was just gross. I can't begin to say how grateful I was for the one girl handling food and her commitment to keeping on clean gloves as she prepared food. Our meal was fantastic, but I'm not sure I'll stop at this location again because the worker (the one with the pink stripe in her hair) made it clear that this wasn't a serious concern to her. read more

Slow, terrible service every time I've gone. The drinks come out watery and taste gross. I ordered two drinks, one with cinnamon, and one without. The employee purposefully made both my drinks without cinnamon because the line was long and she didn't feel like making them separate so she chose to give me the wrong drink instead. When confronted about this issue she shrugged her shoulders. Please do not go here if you're looking for a nice refreshing smoothie go literally anywhere else. I'll never go here again. read more

I have a weakness for smoothies. Not sure how or why, because I NEVER make them at home, but I love smoothie shops. I had been craving a smoothie for quite a bit, but held off because it has been so cold. I stopped in last night because I couldn't hold off any longer. I have to say, the shop itself is super cute. I would love to have a meeting or hangout with friends here. They had a surprisingly extensive menu, which I have not tried yet, and inventive smoothies that aren't your run of the mill. I ended up with the orange ginger glow and it was really good. You don't get to choose a size so the smoothie was gigantic for me, but with the help of my husband, we happily finished it. I've come to this location multiple times and have had the same re-occurring issues which I why I will no longer give this location my business! Employees are rude and have horrible customer service. They purposely do not pick up the phone. My last visit I selected curbside pickup which I don't even know why they offer because they don't use it. I waited in my car for 10 mins and called multiple times with no answer. Myself and all the other cars waiting with me all had to go in to get our orders. Don't offer a service to customers if you aren't going to use it. Will never eat at this place again. read more

I LOVE this place! They have great, healthy smoothies and wraps, sandwiches and breakfast! You can ask for 1/2sugar if you're watching sugar intake. This place is chaotic, disorganized, and flat out poorly run. I felt so bad for the three employees who were understaffed when I visited last week. Nothing was stocked appropriately, so everyone was running around refilling, the order kept piling in, and people were getting frustrated. I want to review/rate this restaurant higher, I really do! The food is great and the smoothies are fantastic but customer service? Well, that is why they are getting the rating they are getting from me. 90% of the time it's not awful just not great. Okay, it is what it is. But today, I'm not sure if one of the associates forgets that they work in an open kitchen style restaurant and every time you go "UGGGHH!!" When you get a new order, we can hear you. Or then you start just shaking your head and then the attitude some of the employees once you get your food is terrible. Worst TSC I've ever visited. I would describe the beverage I bought as more of a "lumpy " than a smoothie. I question if the ever turned on the blender. They also used about 10 times too much ginger in it. My chicken pesto flatbread had no pesto. I suggest that they send the staff back to training to actually learn how to make the food. read more

My husband and I stopped by because we enjoy another Tropical Smoothie in the area. We came in and there were 2 other people already seated and eating. There were 2 workers in the front. At no time did they acknowledge or even look at me as I stood at the counter waiting to give my order. The 2girls were laughing the whole time - one making a smoothie and one cutting a sandwich. When the one making the smoothie finished, did she come to take my order? No!! She proceeded to ignore me and wash dishes! The other girl continued to ignore me too so we left and went to the other Tropical Smoothie where we were immediately waited on. I've been here a dozen times in the last 3 weeks and made a custom order shake that has been correct every time.

This location makes terrible smoothies. I ordered 4 different smoothies and all of them were extremely "watered down" with way more ice than what they are supposed to add. I could hardly taste the PEANUT BUTTER and BANANA (the biggest taste bullies in food) in my smoothie. Even my kids didn't want their chocolate chimp because it tasted like watered down Yoohoo. The smoothies also came with very large ice chunks, totally defeating the purpose of a "smoothie." My blender at home can make better smoothies. Their voicemail is also conveniently not accepting any messages so you can't even call to complain about their crappy smoothies! Placed an order online and still had to wait. One girl was making smoothies. The guy at the register had to go back and get three girls who were chatting and on their phone. When they did come up they all had earbuds in their ears. The place is filthy. I've had mediocre experiences at this location, neither good nor bad enough to write home about. This review; however, is based on my most recent experience. I will preface this with saying that I follow a specific, yet relatively convenient diet for both personal and medical reasons. I placed an order online that included the Veggie Hummus Wrap and chips as my side. I specific no cheese on the wrap. When I picked it up, there was a container of sweet potatoes in the bag and when I asked about it, one of the employees just said, "we're all out of chips." When I got home, not only was the wrap not cut in half, so I could see what was inside, the moment I bit into it, I knew something was off. There was a spicy red sauce and cheese - I don't eat dairy. I called the store and when I explained what happened to one of the female employees, she said, "I'm going to hand the phone to someone else." A guy then came onto the phone and I explained to him that I can't eat meat nor dairy and I need to know what was put in this sandwich, so I know how concerned to be. He explained it's a common mistake and the only thing they did wrong was mix up the sauce with a salsa. Okay, easy mistake. So I then asked to confirm there wasn't meat on it and he said, "There's no meat. You're fine." You're FINE!? No apology at any point from either employee I spoke to. He hadn't attended to the cheese mistake and candidly speaking, if the reaction were any worse or had there been meat on the wrap, they would have a lawsuit on their hands. Take into consideration other people's dietary preferences and the reasons for them. I will not be going back to this location again. read more
