I come to this location all the time and the customer service is amazing. I've never had to wait over 5 minutes for my order. It's always nice and clean at this location and I have no complaints. Also, when doing pickup orders my orders are always ready when I arrive!! read more

Tropical Smoothie Cafe - SUNRISE SUNSET - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Auburn, Alabama

Why is this location rated so low? Fast, friendly service, excellent smoothie and entree made CORRECTLY and super fresh. Restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Restrooms were out of paper towels and tables were sticky (ick) when we were there but those things are forgivable and fixable. Would recommend! read more

The smoothies are great, I love the island green one, but the service oh my god. The girl had the most passive aggressive expression, she was studying when we were on the way inside and we thought she was a customer. I could barely hear what she said and she just stared blankly and I was weirded out. My friend went the other day and everyone was talking loudly right behind the counter, it was so unprofessional. But the smoothie was great so I recommend ordering. The ambiance is nice but nothing crazy, the music is loud ish but pretty good pop music. read more

Don't get me wrong I love the smoothies here. One thing really bothers me the workers here are super disrespectful and not professional at all. The previous time I came here it was just a bunch of them chatting at the front counter and sitting at a table on their phone. But this time there is a NEW FACE I just haven't seen before and she was doing her schoolwork at a table. Me and my friend thought she was a customer but she came up behind us and gave us a bad attitude . Just an FYI don't come here during the daytime ... their workers are just plain unprofessional it's almost like it's their first job! The ones at night shift I see are way nicer read more

Drove all the way over there to get the flip flop day free smoothie and they stopped before the advertised time and said they were out. But it seemed like she just didn't feel like making them. Don't falsely advertise read more

The absolute laziest staff and management. every time I order Uber eats, I don't get the full order. So today I called to place an order and the manager said "sorry were not taking orders over the phone, but you can come in and place your order" so we go in and place the order and the manager is sitting on the ground playing with her friends dog. so you have time to play with your friends dog but couldn't take my order over the phone?? ‍ on top of that my banana peanut butter flat bread is so burnt that I cannot even eat it. I hope the new tropical smoothie in Opelika will have a better staff than this one. read more

I am not impressed with this place. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap with side of maple sweet potatoes. The wrap had maybe 6small pieces of chicken, soggy lettuce what there was of it, and it was drowning in sauce. The potatoes were not edible! The staff was just hanging out and not friendly. I will not be back here read more

This smoothie was amazing, and extremely refreshing (couldn't even get a pic before I took it down). Definitely would recommend 10/10. If your in downtown Auburn, stop by here. read more

Every time I come to this Tropical Smoothie I am completely unimpressed. This time in particular, I ordered on the app and came in to pick it up. When I walked in all of the staff was sitting ON or standing around the counter just relaxing and talking. I had to go around one of them sitting on the counter to grab my food. I even got a dirty look from one of the employees like I did something wrong when all I did was spend $25 on my bad food and pick it up. I noticed when I grabbed my Lean Machine smoothie that it felt lighter than normal and saw that the top inch of the cup was empty and mostly liquid. Any other Tropical Smoothie I've ever been to fills it until it's coming out of the cut out of the lid for the straw. My smoothie also tasted bland and like sugar water. I was also never given a straw, but thankfully I had one from Chick-fil-A to use for it when I got home. When I got home (5 minutes away) I started eating my chicken pesto flatbread I noticed there was no tomato on it like it has on the menu. I later got to my Santa Fe chicken quesadilla that I ordered with NO onions or peppers and it was full of them and tasted very bland. I had also ordered the Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips for both meals and instead I got baked lays that I already know I don't like (which is why I got the Sun Chips). Due to the horrible past experiences with this location, I haven't been in almost a year, but I felt like giving them another try and clearly it was a mistake that won't happen again. read more

The first time I came to this tropical cafe my smoothies were served wrong so I gave them back and they still messed it up so I was like ok it's ok, but I came more and more frequently and they still had messed it up I don't know if it's because I am a different race or because they just don't like to work right. read more

I love the smoothies at Tropical Smoothie Cafe because they just have quality that is unmatchable from any other smoothie place I've ever been. They offer amazing options; there truly is something for everyone! The only reason they did not get 5 stars from me is because the staff always seems indifferent whenever I go inside. They're always slow. Sometimes it takes them a while to even make it to the front to take my order. If the staff just seemed like they cared about their job a little more, I think this place could do great things. read more

Got the avocalada smoothie and the carribean jerk chicken bowl. I always get the same flavor smoothie. Definitely would recommend! The bowl however, I'm not a fan of. This is my first time getting actual food at tropical smoothie and it's literally just lettuce and cheese, w a tiny bit of chicken and pineapple. The ratio is way off. The sauce is also very overpowering in compare w the ratio of the amount of food I got in the bowl. I'm disappointed because I was very excited to try the jerk chicken bowl. Will try something different next time! read more

Only giving an additional star due to the previous management of this location. What was once amazing is now incredibly awful on more than 1 occasion. +30 min wait times for a single smoothie, rude and inconsiderate staff, improper taste and texture of smoothies and food. They've officially lost a 5yr customer. read more

My friends and I ate here while brutally hungover. I got a bahama mamma smoothie and bbq shrimp quesadillas. They were excellent culinary pieces, however not even 10 minutes after eating them, I was forced to commit a massacre on their commode. SMOOTHIE KING WHO? This is the first place I think of when I ask myself where I should go out to eat. Refreshing food and smoothies My favorite is the orange ginger or detox island green smoothie. The turkey apple dijon is the sandwich I order every time. Their apple slaw is Soooooo good. I'll always recommend this place. Their smoothies range from dessert-like to super healthy ingredients so you can satisfy all of your cravings. read more

The last couple of months have been awful. Regularly waiting twenty minutes for a single smoothie and the smoothies are never consistent in taste and texture. Not sure what changed for this store but it's very disappointing. read more

I paid $13 for a smoothie and a wrap. I ordered on the website so I didn't know that they were out of ingredients until I got to the store and was told they couldn't make my smoothie because they were out of something so I had to pick something else. This was fine, I really didn't care that I had lost dollar or so for adding ingredients to the initial smoothie. But I did care when I got home and saw that my meal was substantially underprepared and missing most ingredients. I had originally ordered the veggie hummus wrap, which is what I used to get before this location was run by a bunch of high schoolers, and, not only did it contain zero hummus or veggies others than black beans, I couldn't even eat it because the flavor was horrible due to lack on ingredients (that they could have told me about instead of lowballing me) and general lack of flavor. The entire thing consisted of avocado, white rice, black beans and lettuce. With very few chunks of pickled red onion here and there. It was just objectively bad. This is not the first time I've been disappointed by this location in particular-- I stopped going there because my food was always missing something and just was overall poorly made and bad, which I know isn't the case at other locations because I've had the same thing there and it was much different. Please STOP HIRING HIGHSCHOOLERS and young students who don't how to make food or deal with supply issues properly and don't care to either. They don't know how to run a restaurant. read more

I really like this place as a post workout treat. They have a good range of smoothie flavors and sandwiches which makes it a great place for lunch. I don't know how healthy the smoothies are unless you are getting them with Splenda and they advertise getting a smoothie and a sandwich as a combo... which is quite a bit of food. But everything is pretty good, I like the buffalo chicken wrap and the mango magic smoothie. read more

It gets the job done and it's nice having some potentially healthier food options in town. The toasted flat breads seem a little small at first, but combined with a smoothie make a decent lunch. The Baja Chicken and Chicken Pesto are tasty. Don't think I'd ever go here by myself, but could easily be convinced to come with some friends or coworkers. I found some of this surprising, but just in case you were wondering (from their website): Baja Chicken flatbread: 450 calories Thai Chicken salad: 376 calories Buffalo Chicken wrap: 598 calories Mango Magic smoothie: 390 calories (230 for the Splenda version) Acai Berry Boost smoothie: 445 calories Lean Machine smoothier: 422 calories read more

All of our smoothies tasted like water. The sandwich I got was ok. The service was good but the food was bad.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is the best place in town for a good smoothie. They have a great selection of smoothies and the staff is eager to help you pick a good smoothie. The service is nice, helpful, and quick. The food is also good, and the menu is growing. The only downside is that the portions are a little small, but the smoothie more than makes up for it. read more

I always get the jetty punch (extra strawberry and banana). I love the chipotle chicken flat bread or the chicken bowl.

I honestly really really wanted to like this place because the service was great, customizing your food was awesome, and the environment was nice, clean, and made you feel warm and welcomed. The food is average. The sandwich has way too much bread but it was very soft and nice to munch on. The thai chicken salad was average. The real letdown was the smoothie. I got the Peach Sunrise and the consistency of the smoothie was icy and watery. All I tasted was watery and sugary strawberry in a peach smoothie. read more

Just went there the other night. The kid is sitting on the counter on his phone. Kid takes my order then goes back to kitchen to make my food. Do not recommend. Waited an hour for 2 smoothies that I ordered ahead of time. Asked about them 3 different times and they just kept telling me "ok". Another guy told me he had been there for an hour also. Just go to smoothie king where they actually have it together read more

I got to Tropical Smoothie at 8:28 and after waiting at the counter 10 minutes an employee tried to tell me it was too late to order food. They don't close until 9. He let me order when I told him how long I had been waiting but was rude the entire time. read more

Nice layout and good location. However, wait times are well below subpar and the staff is very unfriendly. I have tried the avocolado smoothie and the acia berry smoothie and both were really good. I really like their chicken pest flatbread. Service is quick, food is fresh, and the staff is always really nice. I get a decently health lunch here (flatbread+smoothie) for about 8.50, not cheap, but not ridiculously expensive. The flatbreads are pretty small, so if you are really hungry, one won't be enough. read more

Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Auburn, Alabama

Tropical smoothie used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Auburn! I'm not sure if they changed management or what since they first opened, but not only have the ingredients substantially decreased in quality (ie stretchy fatty chicken, flimsy flatbreads, fake tasting fruit), but their service has become much worse as well. They wouldn't even come outside to give us our smoothies but instead we had to go back in after 15 minutes and they had our smoothies just sitting on the counter. I asked for LIGHT sauce on my flatbread and I got gross mayo spilling out on all sides. My bread was hardly even toasted and my smoothie was melted and not filled to the top. I'm so disappointed in how this place has gone downhill. read more

Love the health nut smoothie! I also love that you have the option to sub Splenda for sugar and they have lots of healthy and high protein options. I haven't tried any of the sandwiches or wraps yet but the artisan tacos look amazing so I'll be back to try those soon. read more

I wish I could give this place more stars because the quality of the food and smoothies are great. The only problem is, I have found myself having to remind the workers on two occasions now that I was waiting for my order; up to 30 minutes one time. If not for that I would definitely rate the food/smoothies highly. I always get the Chipotle Chicken Club flatbread and a Pomegranate Plunge smoothie and the total comes up around $8. read more

So for a couple of years, this has been a regular spot for a light breakfast or lunch. I have always enjoyed the food and smoothies. However, lately the quality of the product and especially the service has declined. For example, went by today at lunch for a sandwich and a smoothie. The best part of the meal was the bag of potato chips! It took forever to get my order. They gave me someone else's order first. When I finally got the smoothie, it was half melted. It was more like a slushy than a smoothie. Hope that it gets better soon or I will mark it off of the list... read more
