Recently, a friend of mine got all kinds of food stains all over his new business suit. Apparently, he ran into one of the food servers at an Italian restaurant, and believe me it was a mess to say the least. Fettuccini Alfredo and spaghetti sauces can ruin any type fabric. Likewise, I thought his suit was ruined for good. However, never underestimate the staff at Trojan's, as miracles can and do happen. Sweetest couple around. Friendly, smiling faces and overall happily accomodating to boot. Not the cheapest place but so far so good on the dry cleaning. A couple of stains totally gone, very nice indeed. They have also sewn on a button for me and mended a tear in a seam, very good job with both too. I've been going to Mr. Shin for years. He and his wife are a charm to work with. I've had a few "misplaced" shirts over the years but he always makes it right. Mr. Shin always remembers your name and is super friendly. I've found their prices on dry cleaning to be quite competitive, especially for coats. They are so friendly and accommodating, and everything is always ready on time. Going there is an errand I actually enjoy doing. They even got an old stain out of a silk skirt, which I had thought would be hopeless. I had them repair a coat lining, and I wasn't totally thrilled with the results, but it was still pretty reasonable in price and I didn't have time to do it myself or track down another alterations place, so I guess the ROI was probably still worth it. read more

I remember coming here often with my dad as a child, as my mom sent us out on Saturday mornings to run errands and complete honey-do lists; I am a fan of Trojan Dry Cleaners mostly because of their consistency and the fact that they have stayed open, in the same location, for so many years...and continued to provide good service to the downtown area. I have only been here a few times as an adult and each time the service was iffy. Perhaps the old couple has just worked a bit too long and they are losing a bit of their charm, or, perhaps, I just caught them on an off day, but I've had them turn me away, stating that they couldn't do what I was asking them to do (small alterations)...so I took my business elsewhere and other cleaners were happily able to do the job. I would still come here simply for dry cleaning, as they seem to be quite reliable and able to do that, but since I often require repairs or alterations as well, I don't think I'll personally be coming back here that often. read more

Do not use this business! Would rate with 0 stars if possible. Dropped off jacket and blanket for a sewing repair (both had tears with no fabric missing, but not at the seams). The man was very nice and spent time looking at the tears and marking them with pins. He confidently told me the repairs could be done with ease. I could've done it (and did end up doing so) myself but thought they'd be able to do a better job, given it is their profession. When I picked them up, the owner was very nice and confidently brought the items out to my car (with covers on both so I could not inspect them). It was very expensive, but I paid without complaint, given that it is a business and I assumed they'd done the job promised. Not only were neither items repaired, they charged me for cleaning both items, even though I did not want the jacket dry-cleaned and I told them this when I dropped it off. Furthermore, there is no way the jacket was cleaned- I found a Kleenex in the pocket and a little dirt on the front (adding a picture). When I went back to get a refund, they would only give me $7 back and said it was not repairable (I paid $60). I dropped a pair of a pants off here to have the pocket repaired. They charged me 10 dollars. At first, I thought "Wow, what a great deal!" Then a week later, the pocket fell apart. I took the pants back to the cleaners to have them fix it again. This time the man told me the whole pocket needed to be replaced and he would only charge me 5 dollars. A week later I arrive to pick up the pants. They were on the conveyor and he charged me the 5 dollars that he promised. I was stunned to find the pocket not even touched!!! Still broken apart. He said his wife told him I needed a whole new pocket. Ok great, that's what I asked for. He said they couldnt do it. Well why didnt they tell me that in the first place??????????? So I told him to give me my money back. He said "NOOOO, I clean for you and thats it". I told him I didnt WANT the pants cleaned, I wanted the pocket fixed. Please give me my money back right now. He said no again. I paid 15 dollars for NOTHING. Now I have to go somewhere else. After reading this story I hope NOBODY would go BACK to this place! read more

In scoping these people out to see if they were going to be the ones I chose to clean my wall cloak for the fall, I went in with the repair. I asked the lady if she had thread that would match so that I could do a little sewing to fix something. Without even buying anything, she gave me the exact color matched thread. They are well priced and do great work. I had several suits and sweaters that needed to be cleaned and one suit jacket that had a tear. When I arrived for pick up not only did they remember me but they had done the repair for free and even found another tear and fixed it free of charge as well. Plus they are so polite, which seems rare in this day in age. They even carried my clothes and hung them in my car without my asking. The owners, the Shins, are the nicest and most down-to-earth business owners I've ever met and they do an amazing job on the garments without charging an 'arm & a leg'. Absolutely fabulous dry cleaners -- super service oriented owners. I arrived 10 minutes prior to opening (at 7:20am for their 7:30am opening) on the morning of my third day of work. My shirt had a missing button -- I was hoping the owners could repair the button while I waited. No problem -- shirt was repaired within 5 minutes at no charge. Took an antique Wedding dress and antique quilt (both from 1940's) that had been found in a trunk in the barn. Both items came back beautifully clean. The quilt is bright yellow and all the stitching held together. It was water stained and dingy brown when I dropped it off. The dress came back immaculate. The beading was all straight and the dress was pressed perfectly. I had them put it in a long term storage box. Very reasonably priced and fast friendly service. Highly Recommend for antique items.
