I had a great breakfast at Trofi, located in the Hilton Salt Lake City Downtown. We were treated warmly by the hostess and seated right away. Our server was genuinely nice and checked on us as needed. I had an omelette with bacon, spinach, and onions. It was delicious and came with breakfast potatoes. They also have a Breakfast Buffet that looked good. I had a Starbucks Iced Chai Tea and there is a Starbucks store at the entrance. The restaurant is nice with lots of natural light. read more

While attending a conference at the Hilton Salt Lake City, I visited Trofi for breakfast. They served a buffet breakfast which you would typically get for free at an Embassy Suites, except this one cost $24. If you're an elite member, you may get a $15 credit making it only $9 and includes coffee and a beverage. I wasn't really feeling like a buffet so I ordered the Avacado Toast which came with eggs anyway. I had my eggs scrambled which were very good and looked better than the scrambled buffet eggs. The oat bread was topped with a ton of guacamole along with cherry tomatoes, radishes and what looked like dragonfruit. Coffee, juice and it cost a bit more than my $15 credit, but was worth it. read more

Trofi in the Hilton SLC breakfasts were excellent. Food was fresh (buffet best deal) all you can eat beverages included. Service was timely and accommodating to our needs. Ambiance was like a diner, high ceilings, tables spread apart enough to have your own conversation. Locals come for the weekend meal. Definitely worth a visit especially if you are at the hotel. Over priced buffet for Hilton. Food was cold and bland. $24 for breakfast? Better be getting steak and eggs with that price. My $15 diamond allowance wouldn't even cover it. Was in town for a volleyball tournament. Play starts 8:00 am. This place wouldn't open 1 second earlier than 7:00 am. Missed out on an opportunity to get a lot of business by just opening 30 minutes early. The food was in buffet line at 6:45 as went there on the Monday of the tournament. But still wouldn't open early. I went on Tuesday after the first weekend of the tournament as I was working remotely from my room. Didn't even try to go back the remaining 6 days of my stay. Went to a local grocery store got bagels and cream cheese and used the 1 public toaster by the coffee shoppe. The coffee shoppe associated with restaurant open 30 minutes earlier than posted. It was okay. Starbucks light. If you wanted coffee, they could emulate Starbucks because they use their beans. But anything else to drink at a regular Starbucks was not available. read more

2 stars for the egg omelet guy. This place is overpriced $26 for buffet we just started on our first plate and we got the check. 7.50 for service fee for 2 people. Ok what service? I had to get up get tobascco from another table people just left, we had to ask for water and refills . Our empty plates sat on our table for a good minute. This location is the primary restaurant of the Hilton hotel. It's simply average with average slow service. It shocks me that they don't have a full service restaurant that caters to the area and the Hilton customers. Their sole focus is on a poorly laid out "continental breakfast bar" with an upgrade to an omelet station. Just run it as a regular restaurant and provide stellar service with a great menu. I ordered French toast and it was poorly made. They focus on breakfast but do a average at best service and product. Coffee was ok because they serve Starbucks! read more

The food is okay, but so overpriced! A basic mug of coffee (and not great coffee) with breakfast was $4.00 and no refills. Food is equivalent to Denny's quality, but be prepared to spend a minimum of $40. Do yourself a favor and walk a couple of blocks to one of the local places and have a superior breakfast for half the price. read more

Trofi has some of the most amazing breakfast food I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I have had the breakfast buffet (fruits, pastries, cutom omelets, etc.) as well as the huevos rancheros and they are without equal! The price is a little steep, but honestly it's worth it! I'm not giving it 5 stars because of the customer service... I felt that I was an inconvenience to the waiter and he gave me my check before I was even halfway done. The hostess and the employees at the Starbucks in the same location were absolutely wonderful, but it would be nice to have a waiter who was actually attentive. read more

Yes this is in the Hilton, no I'm not living the suite life (Zack and Cody) but I do come here literally every day. Why? Because the people are awesome and they have great grab and go options! They brew Starbucks coffee so if ur in a hurry and don't wanna deal with lines at Starbucks this place is a great option. Everyone who works there is so sweet and stopping in is one of the best parts of my day. Prices fluctuate, I think based on how busy they are, but they do have frequent visit cards so that compensates for sure! I will be back tomorrow, and the next day and so on lol read more

Another day.... another hotel breakfast buffet. This one was better than most with an expansive selection of fresh (!!!) fruit, yogurt, granola, baked goods, and hot items (the usual scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, and potatoes.....). What made it stand out was the fresh omelette station with every filling imaginable from meats to cheeses to many, many fresh veggies..... and the friendly service. It's a restaurant in the Hilton, so I think you get about what you would expect. If you're staying here and don't mind paying a little bit extra for breakfast, its not a terrible option if you can't muster the energy to step outside. That being said, after eating here and paying a hefty price for thoroughly mediocre food, I would definitely recommend going to one of the many other restaurants in this area. Especially when compared to Bambara at hotel Monaco just around the corner, this place is very lackluster. Bambara is the same price and so much better that it's not even a close contest. I don't understand the reviews that don't give Trofi credit for the excellent cuisine and service they provide. I've been coming here on business for ten years. I'm always promptly seated and immediately offered a beverage and my choice of menu or buffet. I usually select the buffet. The reviewers whom stated the eggs were "just hotel eggs" blow my mind. That selection varies by day and the chef is right there at the omelet bar for eggs to order. Get whatever you like! Lovely fresh fruits, yoghurt, delicious oatmeal. There's just not any way I can rate this less than five stars. I often see the hotel General Manager pouring coffee and checking on the guests. This is a top flight operation. I had the breakfast buffet. It was nothing special, just another hotel buffet. They had cold and hot breakfast. Regarding the hot breakfast - they had pretty good omelets and egg croissants. The waiter was very helpful and polite. FYI - I highly recommend you get the $40 dollar added package to your room. It includes 2 tickets for the buffet, Wi-Fi internet in the room, and valet parking. The buffet without the special is $20 dollars a person. read more

Foodies typically like to look down on hotel restaurants, but I had one of the best meals and the absolute best service in Salt Lake City here. My omelet was hot and delicious, the potatoes were crisp and yummy, and nice, soft butter came along with the English muffin. What made the meal, though, was my server Julio. He was friendly and prompt, going above and beyond. At the end of the meal, Julio offered me water and iced tea to go. After four days of encountering lackluster servers at different restaurants across town, Julio reminded me how rare great service really is these days. We ate breakfast here yesterday morning and are planning to do so again during our 4 day stay in Salt Lake City. We both ordered off the menu (I had eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. My niece ordered the same, except she had ham.) The food was delicious, and a nice added touch of grilled asparagus and a half tomato were on the plate. We were seated promptly, and our server was excellent. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price, which is a little steep. We had orange juice with our meals, and we paid about $18 for breakfast. Having said that, we weren't hungry again until 4:30 in the afternoon, so we only ate twice yesterday! I tried this restaurant for breakfast years ago and remembered it being poor but thought I'd try again. Not worth $20 for the breakfast buffet. Eggs had no flavor, muffins and french toast were very dry. Bacon and pineapple were good. I waited 5 minutes for my server to come by for my card.
