This review is for the Dental Clinic at this location…read more I had tooth issues for a very long time due to my neglect and failure to take care of my teeth. I decided to finally go get it taken care of. I was extremely scared with the cost and even the pain I would endure in order to fix my teeth. It didn't help that everyone I know told me that the procedures I needed would be extremely painful. I won't go into too much detail with the work I got done, but I was in and out of this clinic for all of 2019 and some parts of 2020. Yes it took that long to fix my teeth! But I am glad I got it done. Dr Gomez (Mirtha) made me feel at home from day 1. I became somewhat of a regular with my frequent visits and she remembered me each and every time I came back in. It made me feel extremely comfortable coming into a place that most people feared coming to. Her team was just as amazing as she was. The dental assistants were always gentle and kept me calm during the appointments. Now the most important part of all of this... was the care Dr Gomez gave me. Each procedure went smoother than I could imagine. The pain was very minimal and I believe that is in large part to how great a Dentist Dr Gomez is. I would recommend her to anyone I know. Her professionalism and quality of care is something I can't thank her enough for. As of today, my teeth feel amazing and I am no longer in pain. Its not longer a chore to eat food and I feel amazing! Please take care of your teeth if you can! And if you haven't, come have Dr Gomez fix them up! She's amazing!

CAUTION: MASSIVE review ahead!…read more Remember this: I am an extremely patient person. It takes a LOT out of me to get me extremely angry. I usually come here for a number of services, since I have a friend that's an earshot away from this location. A lot of the services they provide are at most decent. I get my bloodwork done, I just got my dental cleaning done not that far back, and that's proper: no complaints about that. But the two incidents, which has stretched out over the course of about five weeks, really, REALLY frosted my arse like an unusually bitter winter storm rushed thru coastal and inland San Diego. What I experienced at their Vision Clinic was a massive contentious problem to me. Let me explain. I come there as expected to set up a prescription order for two pairs of glasses: one paid by my insurance provider, the other out of pocket thanks to the kindness of my friend's heart. My additional pair cost them $140. While I wish I remembered her name to make things easier to figure out, name-dropping is pointless, and I'm sure there's some convoluted process that got it all jumbled up, and for no apparent reason at all. I recall, if my memory has not failed me at all, requiring that transitions should go to the Aviator-style glasses, whilst the light brown tint should be for the black frames. Okay, done-deal: she made sure to mark out the proper alignment for each pair I ordered, and hopefully had everything written out. A couple or so weeks have passed, I get an automated call telling me that they're ready for pick-up. So we went here, went to pick them up. I had noticed right off the bat that something wasn't right: my memory being fuzzy for some odd reason, I took them at first, but after some delegation with my friend, I went back to tell them that my specified needs for my prescriptions... WERE SWAPPED AROUND. After complaining to the guy at the front desk, who seemed pretty patient enough, the same lady who I told my prescription to rushed over to chide me about how that was apparently what I ordered. Still barely remembering what had transpired back then, I was frozen and frankly traumatised, as I am the person to usually NEVER INTENTIONALLY LIE TO PEOPLE. I would much rather punch myself in the nose than to purposefully manipulate someone like this, ESPECIALLY when this is my healthcare needed here. After too much back-and-forth, they took them back, and told us that we have ONE MORE CHANGE FOR FREE, which I do not recall seeing it ANYWHERE on paper about this. I came home extremely upset at feeling like I was an arsehole, and disappointed that I didn't get my prescription AT ALL. I later learned I was gaslit, and I was praying that she was just having a bad day. Whilst I was home, I was called to have my prescription order redone. Same lady who chided me up and decided allegedly ON HER OWN VOLITION "made sure" three times with me on what I wanted for my lenses. I had flubbed ONCE, accidentally saying to have the transitions and tint on the black frames, quickly then correcting myself and made sure to maintain what I had said the FIRST TIME. After she had clearly recalled what I said on the last time, I confirmed, and things were hunky-dory. Two or so weeks later, again, I come back. I sat there, extremely stressed out and highly pessimistic: an unusual thing I experience. I was actually having a sliver of hope. I was called up, was given my prescription. THEY PUT *BOTH* ON THE SAME LENSES, AND LEFT THE OTHER ONE COMPLETELY BLANK. I was enraged. I told him calmly that this is NOT what I ordered, confident that this time I knew EXACTLY what I told her. Sure enough, the same lady uttered "oh my God" in the most aggravated tone I've heard in my life, and rushed over again and STIFFLY chided to me that she made sure THREE TIMES that this was what I wanted. I argued with her that NO, it was NOT. She reluctantly (from my perspective) took them back in. I was sitting in the waiting room, absolutely pissed off about this obnoxious ordeal. I sat there stewing for what seemed to be 15 minutes until she came back out to call us up. She told us they can no longer fulfil any redos, and offered us a refund. No apologies for their obvious mistakes, by the way. Surprised, we accepted those terms and demanded a copy of my prescription. All was fulfiled, and we left with just the copy of my prescription, opting to never order frames from this clinic ever again. Keep in mind that had I paid out of pocket, which frankly I am not FLOODING with money at all, I fear my mood would have been a lot worse than that. $140 is NOT cheap for prescription lenses, especially if you're someone on SSI. Long story short: you are much better off ordering your prescription glasses from a proper optometrist. This was an extremely humiliating experience, and this was NEVER something I recall encountering almost at ALL in my life. And remember: I am an EXTREMELY PATIENT PERSON. It takes a LOT to get me extremely angry!

If they tell you 10 days they are lying and they will later admit the same. Now I need bilateral eye surgery. First they make me wait a year--yes, a whole year to get it scheduled. Then they set it for bilateral but do all the work up for just one eye. Then they have to re-do everything to fix their errors. They will call and have you come back for tests they "forgot" to do. But they'll give you call back numbers you can't use--only doctors get to call directly. Patients must use the 800#. If you call the 800# the hold time is an hour. Then they transfer you to ophthalmology and you hold another 45 minutes. This has been my experience three different occasions--so not odd, but Kaiser's normal. When you get through--50% of the time they hang up on you. They don't know the names of the department's technicians so when you ask for say (in my case Crystal) they'll just hang up on you--after you waited for 1.45 hours!!! They won't even give you time to say, "Could you just look up who called and why then?" Nope! They are so RUDE. Eventually you give up and drive in to find out what surgery called about. I found out it was to re-measure my eyes. This is the 4th time to measure them. I wonder if they'll end up operating on my nose vs my eyes. I am truly SCARED. These guys are a bunch of Bozos!

I can only compare to that. The check-in kiosk at Kaiser was not very user-friendly. Becky had to answer a lot of questions and negotiate through multiple screens. The waiting area was rather drab and stark. Once we got past that, the care Becky received was good. The initial nurse who took vitals and such was kind and professional. The nurse practitioner who examined her was also professional and thorough. He answered of our questions and offered diagnosis and treatment options. One thing about Kaiser that is less than ideal is they will not transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies. Patients can only use Kaiser pharmacies which is (at least for us) terribly inconvenient. Especially given that we have at least a half-dozen pharmacies in close proximity to our house while the nearest Kaiser is a 20-minute drive.

They need to be back from lunch on time and stop chit chatting. That simple. Finally got called back at 2:16pm!! And no apology for making me wait almost an hour after my appointment time. Appointments are always booked ridiculously far out like, what's the point of being a "medical" clinic if I can't get seen until next month for something urgent? This place is chronically understaffed and it shows. You feel it the second you walk in. The energy is low, the professionalism is lower. And it's not even just slow service it's the complete lack of care that gets you. It feels like the whole system here is broken. It's no surprise this place has 2 stars. Honestly, even that feels generous. I've left a bad review before, and here I am again -- that should tell you something. This place doesn't learn, doesn't grow, and clearly doesn't care. Avoid if you value your time, your health, or your sanity.

Usually, I wait a month or more for any appointment, so I was honestly shocked (and so happy) by what she did for me today. Her help truly made a difference, and I'm so grateful!

I've been here prior to the start of COVID and during and the office has always been super clean. Upon entering on the third floor of the building, a MA will take your temp. And screen you for COVID symptoms. It's worth mentioning that I've always had an appointment and highly recommend making an appointment if possible. It's very easy to do online. They accept walk-ins but it will be a super long wait and they don't guarantee that you will be seen. My first appointment was for birth control and I had some concerns. The staff was incredibly friendly and great at what they do. I had to have some blood work done and the medical assistant was so professional and my blood draw was painless. I was so surprised at the amount of time the Nurse Practitioner spent with me. She did an examination and she as well was extremely professional and it was quick and painless which I REALLY appreciate. She spent time with me and genuinely seemed to care about me and my health. I didn't feel embarrassed or judged at all. The only negative was that even with an appointment, I had to wait so long. My appointment was at 12:20 and I left at 3:10. After checking in at reception, I waited about 20 mins to go into a room and then waited for about 30 mins for the medical assistant and almost another hour to be seen by the provider. I couldn't take away a star though because my experience was so great that i honestly didn't mind and I'm pretty impatient. My next appointment was just to refill by birth control pills (again with an appointment.) I didn't need to see the provider, just needed to pick up the pills and I was there for a little over an hour with most of the time there spent waiting. I've been to other locations where the staff was extremely rude, judgmental and just obviously miserable people but this location was the exact opposite. I'm really appreciative and grateful for the services they provide and the respect/empathy they have for their patients. Last thing, this location along with downtown often have pro-life protestors there in the morning. I have thick skin so they don't bother me but they can be rude and offensive to some. They're usually gone by noon though.

I understand providers sometimes need to cancel, and I also understand they may not have been able to see me the same day, but the way the situation was handled afterward was extremely frustrating. I came in because I'm still experiencing pain and complications from a procedure done through this office, and I had previously been told it was important to come back for follow-up care. I had already tried calling multiple times before coming in and was left on hold for over 2 hours without ever reaching anyone. Nautica was the only person at the front desk when I arrived. When I tried explaining the situation and that I was in serious pain, I felt dismissed instead of helped. Communication was difficult because she spoke very quietly, and when I asked her to speak up so I could hear her clearly, the interaction immediately became tense and defensive. Being met with attitude simply for asking someone to repeat themselves or speak louder is unprofessional and unnecessary. She also stated that the office had tried calling me that morning, but I did not receive any calls, voicemails, or missed calls from them prior to arriving. I was worried about my health, trying to get answers, and also needing to get to work, so the lack of compassion and urgency was upsetting. Patients dealing with ongoing complications should not feel brushed off when they are actively trying to seek medical care.

I have never had a referral happen so quickly! They had an appointment available Monday morning. Check in was quick and easy, done in just over a minute. We were called in at the appointment time. The nurse asked some questions and looked at my son's toe that was giving him some trouble. She advised what she though the treatment options would be. Dr. Thomas came in just a couple minutes later and said the same thing the nurse did. He gave us our options. I made a decision but my son was very scare of the shot and the procedure. Dr. Thomas was amazingly patient while my son had his freak out. He remained calm and tried to help me to get my son to understand what needed to be done and why. This took a good 15 minutes, but in the end Dr. Thomas did the procedure. It was over pretty quickly and my son became interested in the procedure. He answered all my son's questions about what he was doing, what tools he used, anything my son was curious about. I am truly shocked at how nice the nurse and Dr. Curt Thomas were. The fact they were also able to do this same day was more than appreciated. I really can't think of anything that could have been better. Thank you Dr. Thomas and care team!
