The solar industry is filled with shady people selling folks over-sized, cookie cutter systems. The contractors come from out of town, install your system, and you never hear from them again. With Texas Direct, I was able to order the latest in solar technology at a good price and get the exact system that I wanted. My solar project did have several setbacks though. The city permits took forever. We received the wrong IQ gateway, and there was a mix up with the financing. The guys at Texas Direct worked through all my issues, and I have nothing but good things to say about Anthony and Michael. When you have people drilling holes in your roof, you had better make sure you are dealing with a reputable company. Don't trust your home to just anyone. For a great system and a quality installation, go with Texas Direct Solar! If you're on the fence about going solar.... don't be! Last summer my light bill averaged nearly $500 dollars per month. Our upfront cost was still a bit high because of the batteries, but we now have backup power without the need to purchase a generator. The batteries allow us much more system flexibility, and we don't have a fifteen-thousand-dollar generator wasting away in our backyard. My system works great. It produces even on partly cloudy days, and most of my panels aren't facing south. The app to monitor the system is awesome. I use it every day. And the cost was less than Tesla wanted. Of course, Tesla came back and said, hey, we'll match that price. But at this point, it's too late. Like, why do I want to go back to you guys? Tesla energy is hard to work with and was being unreasonable. I signed the contract moved on, bought it from solstice. No regrets. I did still get the Tesla powerwall 3 and Tesla controller. When going through the process of getting my solar panels installed on my 2007 home, there was in…read moreinspection done (early spring of 2021). I told the representative- Alexandro Bogdan that I would not have the solar panels installed if my shingles were going to need to be replaced with 5 years of getting the solar panels installed. They performed an inspection and deemed that the shingles on the roof were in good shape for solar panel installation. PEOPLE! If your shingles are older than 10 years- DO NOT GET SOLAR PANELS! From any solar company! Fast forward to December of 2024 and I'm getting notices from my homeowner's insurance that they will no longer cover me (after doing their own inspection via drone) because the shingles are too old for them to continue coverage on my house. After some refusals from other homeowners' insurance companies, I finally found a servicer to carry my homeowner's insurance I have been trying to get ahold of Forever Freedom since that time (2024) to find out if it's covered by their warranty to remove & reinstall their solar panels. **CRICKETS!** It is now 2026 and I still have not heard anything from anyone. No one from Freedom Forever will tell me if I need to pay, or I get the runaround about someone to come inspect and provide me with a quote. I have been getting quotes form roofers to do the shingles, but they need to know if the company that installed them is going to take them down or if they need to do it. At this time my shingles definitely need to be replaced, they are getting so thin from wear & weather. It'll be no time at all before I do get water damage from leaking when it rains. I would like to hear back from Freedom Forever because they keep telling me that if I have someone else remove & reinstall the solar panels that it'll void the warranty. What in the actual shenanigans is going on that I can't even get an email, a follow up phone call. Some communication is needed!
