The solar industry is filled with shady people selling folks over-sized, cookie cutter systems. The contractors come from out of town, install your system, and you never hear from them again. With Texas Direct, I was able to order the latest in solar technology at a good price and get the exact system that I wanted. My solar project did have several setbacks though. The city permits took forever. We received the wrong IQ gateway, and there was a mix up with the financing. The guys at Texas Direct worked through all my issues, and I have nothing but good things to say about Anthony and Michael. When you have people drilling holes in your roof, you had better make sure you are dealing with a reputable company. Don't trust your home to just anyone. For a great system and a quality installation, go with Texas Direct Solar! If you're on the fence about going solar.... don't be! Last summer my light bill averaged nearly $500 dollars per month. Our upfront cost was still a bit high because of the batteries, but we now have backup power without the need to purchase a generator. The batteries allow us much more system flexibility, and we don't have a fifteen-thousand-dollar generator wasting away in our backyard. My system works great. It produces even on partly cloudy days, and most of my panels aren't facing south. The app to monitor the system is awesome. I use it every day. I am extremely happy with my purchase, and thankful that I chose Texas Direct Solar.

I ended up signing up for 12.3 kw at annual production of 16,704 kwh i hope this will be delivered once it's install i will update my reviews. It took me days to make my decision and Arushi was very patient responding to my calls and emails. I am satisfied in how all my answers are addressed. They are only in the business for 10 years but with the way they take care of their customers i know i can trust their company for the 20 year contract i signup with them. They have 25 year warranty on their panels and 10 year warranty on labor and roof penetration. I highly recommend Awake Solar if you are looking for quality and excellent customer experience!

Awake solar review…read more Short Awake Solar Review Would I recommend them? Short Answer: Yes. But, I would only recommend them if you are willing to deal with the issues that I outline below. After meeting with several of the big named solar companies, I decided to go with a solar company here in the Houston area. Awake Solar doesn't have sales representatives, so if you contact them, you should know about solar systems, net metering, and what you want from your solar system. Another thing to consider is that there will be a communication barrier. Awake Solar owner and main technical advisor is Ajay Choudhary, and his English is good, but often, things get misinterpreted due to the language barrier. Ajay does have a daughter, Arushi, who is involved, but it's clear that Ajay is who you'll be dealing with. When you call for technical support, Ajay is the one you speak with, so I'm not sure if they even have a tech support team at Awake Solar. Awake Solar completely lacks any customer service skills, so be prepared for that. After several emails and phone conversations, we agreed that the 19,240KW system would be able to produce 100% of our future energy needs. The initial start of our project was delayed due to unknown reasons, and when Awake Solar did start the project, it was delayed again because Awake Solar submitted the incorrect plans to League City. At one point during the delay, I questioned Ajay about the delay, and he informed me that I was " too involved " and that I needed to stop asking questions. We encountered further delays to complete the project due to Awake Solar being unfamiliar with League City Building Codes and not reading the City of League City website for information. After the array was completed and the appropriate Smart Meter was installed, the array has worked flawlessly. The project took a total of 4 months, and that was from signing the contract to the first time the panels produced power with the Smart Meter. After the project was completed, Awake Solar never came to my house or called me to go over the system or explain how to use the APSYSTEMS portal. This is just one example of how their customer service is lacking. Unfortunately, I am currently trying to work out an issue with the APSYSTEMS user portal that can only be fixed by Awake Solar. But, due to the language barrier and Awake Solar's lack of customer service, the problem is still not resolved. It's apparent now that they are understaffed and concentrate more on building the system than supporting the customer. With all of that said, if you want a Solar array that is half the cost with the highest end technology as the Big Box Solar companies and you have the fortitude to put up with what I've mentioned above, go with Awake Solar. I recommend them, Yes, but I would only recommend them if you are willing to deal with the issues that I outlined here.

We have definitely benefited from our panels. Prior to solar our Electric bills ran as high as $500. The past two months our light bill has been $26-$40. We have even had a lower bill of $17! There have been a few times where our neighbors were without electricity for a short time, and the lights never even blinked in our home. This savings is well worth our decision to go solar. We would have been lost without our salesperson and installer. They were knowledgeable and supportive through the entire process. These two alone made our experience successful. They figured out the root cause and remedied both my indoor / outdoor electrical issues. They installed a new control panel and separated the indoor & outdoor circuits. Even though there was heavy rain that day, they came right away and continued to work on my electrical problems till it was repaired. After few months I called them for the noisy exhaust fans & installing new bathroom lights. They recommended Panasonic's quiet exhaust fans for my bathrooms & installed three of those exhaust fans. They also recommended & replaced my chandelier bulbs with bulbrite LED bulbs to drop the power bill for that chandelier from 800 wa to 100 watts. They explained & ensured safety of my home so that overloaded chandelier switch doesn't heat up and cause fire. I called them because they are accredited as master certified electrician. I didn't want to trust safety of my home with just any electrical company. Highly recommend them for professional, master certified safety & reasonably prices!
