This is more of a character testimonial, than your standard review…read more Recently moved back to the Hudson Valley after a bunch of time in the nonprofit sector in PA, Marco and I had been friends and had worked together previously. He had been encouraging me to move back up as I have had a few losses and it has been a difficult time. Marco hooked me up with me some work immediately so I could stand on my feet and volunteered his time to help clear a space on a farm for me to live. It is a small production farm with a supportive and wonderful community that is definitely under-resourced. He routinely finds useful stuff to repurpose which he passes on and is always open to a question or conversation trying to solve a problem. Most recently, things slowed back down again and I ran out of firewood, he gave me a cord and a half from his personal stock to last me the rest of the winter and told me not to worry about it and that I could just come split some more in the spring time to restock his shed. I don't really have words for how thankful I am and how it would've been easy for him to say as a friend hearing my woes, wow that sucks, and then keep it moving, but that's not the type of person he is. Marco and I have had a decade long relationship that spans employer, mentor, friend, volunteer, accountability partner, general life coach. Because of his encouragement and guidance, I have launched a small business and have been building capacity here at the farm. Anyone looking to hire Marco should know they are bringing an A1 person, experienced problem solver, and a damn good operator into their endeavor. Be well. Travel light.

Tired of seeing the same types of perennial bulbs in every single big box garden center (and even Adams to some extent), I finally visited. Autumn isn't necessarily the best time to visit, as they close shop for the winter, but there were lots of discounts on shrubs and plants and in-stock items as well as beautiful mums all over the place. I particularly liked their focus on native plants and butterfly garden plants. The inside was nice too, with a little bit of everything. As far as bulbs, their selection was limited, but they did have at least one type of shade-loving perennial bulbs I had not found elsewhere. I was also looking for a shade loving houseplant, and they again had several types on sale. Upstairs they have a small bookstore and bird feeder supplies, including the type of squirrel-proof bird feeder I'd like to get if I ever want to replace my old one. SQUIRREL! They maintain an email distribution list too with monthly news and customer discounts. I can't wait to return in the spring!

IM LANDSCAPING & MASONRY TO THE RESCUE!!…read more Since the pandemic, our patio was in desperate need of a refresh; take out the weeds, clean the bluestones and put poly sand in the joints. After getting several estimates, we called IM Landscaping and spoke to Freddy. He was able to come to our home and give us an estimate to do the work, which was fair and reasonable. Freddy and his team arrived early the next morning. I loved the fact that they were very thorough in removing the weeds, digging deep to get the root balls out. After that, they power washed the entire patio, even behind the condenser. Everything was so fresh and clean!! Due to the rain forecast, Freddy thought it best to make sure the stones were thoroughly dry before he installed the sand. He returned the following week and completed the work. Several neighbors immediately commented on how nice our patio looks. We're sorry that we didn't take before and after pictures to post. Do not hesitate to give IM Landscaping & Masonry a call. They are knowledgeable, professional, and their prices are reasonable. Thank you Freddy!!

My experience with Manuel Landscaping was absolutely wonderful!…read moreFrom our very first interaction, Manuel was very responsive, professional and knowledgeable. I needed some MAJOR yard work done in my home in Beacon and I'm so thankful that I came across Manuel. I honestly don't think anyone else would be able to do what Manuel and his team did. He completely transformed my backyard from a small, overgrown, debris-filled, complicated and unusable space to a spacious, leveled, beautiful and modern oasis. He truly exceeded all of my expectations and made the property ten times bigger! The work Manuel did on my property included building multiple retainer walls, tree removal, concrete work, fixing drainage issues, removing debris, leveling, building a stone patio and steps, planning trees and grasses, and more! HE CAN DO IT ALL!!! And always on time, on budget, and exceeding expectations! I am so glad that I found Manuel and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for THE BEST landscaping and construction team!

The patio is along the back of my house and there are 2 doors going into the house from the patio, one slider and one hinged door. The new patio looks good enough but the whole thing is too high relative to the house, the top of the pavers are the same height as the top of the door saddle. I can not install a storm door because it will hit a floor mat. I had asked Manuel to make the patio about an inch below the door saddles during the estimate and again before the pavers were installed, he agreed but didn't do it. It's discouraging, the patio looks nice but it's the wrong height. Now I face the dilemma of living with it or having another contractor rip it out and install it at the right height.
