This brand new restaurant is located right on the main drag in Toller. We happen to be driving by and quickly made a U-turn to come back and give it a try. Very glad that we did. Great breakfast menu but also had burgers and sandwiches and salads. After chatting with our Waitrose, we found out this was the folks who used to own Caris in Granbury. IYKYK! So excited to have a new option town. Also scored a cute coffee mug for $5 from their gift section that is wayyyy nicer than a $5 mug. We passed on the fried pies but it was a tough decision!

New adverts on all the tables!

Always a great place to grab breakfast and a couple of turnovers to go, on the way out!! Peter served us today and as always, everything was prepared well and tasted great!

It being Sunday of Labor Day weekend meant everyone was in town, and it definitely slowed things down. There wasn't a single open table inside or outside. I wasn't sitting down for service, just grabbing things for the road, but I ordered a muffin and an iced Cinnamon Twist. I think I regret ordering the size as big as I did (their grande was like 24 oz iced) because it was quite milky (my fault), but the cinnamon and vanilla were good. The muffin was the true star of the show. It was huge, dense, and fluffy. A much-needed carb and sugar rush after my humid Granbury run. The place is super cute, and I will totally try to go back for brunch next time I visit. The place can feel a little tight when you're trying to order to-go without getting in the way of the staff, other people ordering, and the people dining in, but the place was practically at capacity when I got there. I also saw the Yelp sticker on their door, and I was like, OMG I YELP. RIYL: A bistro pulled straight out of a Hallmark Original Movie.

It's right next door to where the address on the Yelp Page will take you, but it is formerly the "Bakeshop." The staff mentioned to us the former building/house was being renovated to become an AirBnB or something. We were looking forward to patio seating given we had our pup with us, but the restaurant didn't have any, so we opted for drive-thru. The restaurant itself has a small parking lot. The woman who took our order was very kind and informative, as mentioned previously. I ordered an "Iced Latte with White Chocolate" and ordered the "Breakfast Burrito," which contained sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The latte was good, creamy and sweet with the WC flavoring. The burrito was also good, not amazing, but good! I should have ordered 2 of them, it wasn't too big, so keep that in mind. The cheese was melted inside and the sausage was super flavorful. There was a section of my burrito in which the sausage was actually cold, which took me by surprise, but other than that it was good. Pricing was decent for what we ordered. We would come back if we were driving through again!!

This review is on behalf of my mother who refuses to use any form of social media. About a month…read moreago, my parents went on a road trip through parts of Texas they'd not yet explored in their 60 or so years. One stop in Granbury for my dad to look at an old car for sale led my mom to The Pan Handle to shop while he fantasized about purchasing the vehicle. I think by the time my mom left The Pan Handle, she was fantasizing about moving to Granbury. She called me immediately after shopping there to tell me what a great experience she'd had and returned home with a gift for me - a cutting board by the same brand of one I got her last year that she'd broken. While shopping, she told the story of the cutting board's demise to Sara in the store and Sara kindly offered to contact her rep for the brand. He knew nothing about the specific design (a map of the U.K.) but said he'd try to find it in warehouses across the U.S. He did and almost exactly a month later, that cutting board arrived at my mom's door, packaged securely by the Pan Handle with a note signed by Sara. Even I, at 29 years old, know customer service like this is hard to come by and that's why I'm giving 5-stars. Sara knew my mom wasn't from the area and quite possibly might never return to the store, but she did everything she could to make sure my mom had a pleasant experience. Because of this, I think The Pan Handle might have to be a stop on any trips we take "up north" in the future.

From the start, breakfast was solid all the way around. Seating was quick (we seated ourselves), and our waitress came over almost immediately to take drink orders. When she returned, we were ready to order--which is always a minor victory when dining with my youngest grandsons. One of them eats like a champ; the other... not so much. On this visit, hash browns were the sole winner for him. As for me, I went big. I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelet topped with hollandaise sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The breakfast also came with two large pancakes. The only minor downside was that the pancakes arrived just slightly warm--not hot. I understand they're likely made ahead and held under a heat lamp while the rest of the table's orders are finished, so it wasn't a dealbreaker, and I still enjoyed them. Overall, Cari's is a great spot for breakfast, and hopefully I won't wait another eight years before my next visit!
