I also appreciated him asking for feedback and responding to my request for more or less pressure in places. I liked how quiet it was. I was there on a Sunday afternoon, so I don't know if it's different during the week. But some places I have been to have suite neighbors playing loud music, or had a restaurant with dishes banging around and their kitchen, etc. It's really hard for me to relax with that kind of noise. I booked a pedicure service, and the three foot spa/sink areas were all out of service. My foot soak was in a shallow plastic dish of cold water. The top of my feet were exfoliated, presumably because it was all that could be easily rinsed. I am not sure what the issue was, but there was not hot or running water. They should not be offering this service as listed. It is a misrepresentation. I was charged $58 for the service, so with tip, I paid nearly $90 for a spa pedicure service that I could have done at home, but with hot water. I felt terrible for the young nail tech because she was truly fabulous and clearly making the best of what her employer had available; but she's never going to be able to build a book of business without functioning spa equipment. The actual polish service was pristine and will probably last a few months or more. I would absolutely book a service with the tech again, if she moved to another spa. However, even if the owner decided to bring her business out of disrepair, I'm not sure I'd return because of the bait and switch, and willingness to destroy that young woman's early professional development.

They communicated well throughout the service, ensuring we were comfortable and getting exactly the kind of care we needed. The massages were absolutely incredible. The tone and approach of your communication, particularly from the individual named Michael at the front desk, came across as extremely condescending and dismissive. That is not how any client should be treated, especially someone exploring your services for the first time. The suggestion that I am now being treated as though I've defaulted on a legal or financial obligation -- simply because I was unable to attend an introductory appointment -- is not only inappropriate, it's deeply triggering given personal traumas I've experienced. This approach has completely severed my trust in your business.

I've learned that reviews can tell you a lot. There are the bad and mixed ones--avoid. The good ones--maybe. And then there are the ones where the customers are practically gushing over their experience with a company/employees. When I read New Day's reviews on some other sites, that's what I saw and therefore who I chose. They were so right!! So far, I have had two deep tissue massages from Ashley. Oh my!! She is wonderful. I have spent hours each day for years at the computer and my shoulders feel bunched up around my neck. After the first massage, I noticed that my neck looked longer. Just that one massage loosened those muscles enough that my shoulders dropped back down where they belong. I'm now trying to re-program myself not to scrunch them up--a bad habit I developed. She is really good at finding spots that are in need. Some that hurt the most, I didn't even know had a problem. The most amazing thing of all (again first time seeing Ashley) is that toward the end of my first massage, she asked me a funny question: whether I had any problems swallowing. I hadn't mentioned this to her because I never dreamed it had anything to do with muscles but I've been having a serious problem over several months--even a miniature pill or a bit of banana (!) was getting stuck in my throat. Apparently, this actually can be caused by muscles. She spent a little time lightly massaging those muscles and was able to release them enough that I had close to normal swallowing function for almost a week afterward. Like a miracle. Great team from Jill at the front desk to Ashley and I have a visit with Shawna coming up as well. I'll update this review after I see her. I highly, highly recommend New Day Massage.
