This was 100/10. I came in due to not being able to sleep on my left side and Sam , got on that table and rubbed every knot out of my back. I got a full stretch and his hands knew the definition of deep tissue massage. He was pleasant to speak to and always checked in to make sure he was doing it the way I needed. The only thing I would say is I wish I was laying on a heated blanket cause I did get cold. Also if you want a 90 min massage expect to be in that bed for 90 min. No short cuts here. read more

I woke up with terrible shoulder pain. Luckily I was able to get in right away for a combo massage. 30 min foot reflexology and 30 min upper back/shoulders. The massage is intense but exactly what I needed to work out my knot. If you are working for a relaxing soft massage this is not your place but if you're looking to work out knots and feel like a million bucks when you leave then I highly recommend! I have had lower neck, upper shoulder/back pain. It is a repeating pain, probably stress related, and my physical line of work.the quality was hands-down, the best massage I have ever gotten, and I've had quite a few. I had a massage done in Spain, called Thai massage, and I didn't think anybody in Kansas would be able to top that. Went for a special I came across on Groupon - and I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised! I only did a 30 minute foot reflexology, but left feeling relaxed. Next time I plan on doing the 60 minute because it includes back, arms, and shoulder massage. The environment was dark and very dimly lit - I appreciated that! The music was spa-like with a zen feel. The lounge chairs were extremely comfortable and they give you a towel/blanket to cover with. I truly felt like I was in a resort spa once I got back to the room (the front is just a normal office feel still, don't let they fool you!). The one thing that was off was the very thin walls, when people came in the front and began talking I could hear their conversation, which wasn't a big deal for just a quick 30 minute session, but if I were doing Longer or a full body massage I would expect more quiet and relaxation than what that provides. I think they could avoid that by having signs asking guests (and staff) to keep their voices quiet while sessions are taking place. read more

Been coming here for over a year. My go to place every month. Reflexology has genuinely changed by life. It helps with cycling, and really helps with my anxiety for some reason. It puts me in a deep state of relaxation. I always do the 60 or 90 minute combo of reflexology and full body massage. They use pushing/pulling methods to work knots out, which feels very different from traditional Swedish massage, but is very effective. There is no talking, which I very much appreciate. It is a very no nonsense approach to massage. They include hot stones and oil as well. I'm never left greasy afterwards though. The owner is extremely nice, and gives a $10 discount if you pay cash. And they have a punch card towards a free service as well. They can usually fit me in same day. Studio is extremely clean and quiet. Highly recommend. read more

I've had a chair massage and a regular massage, both done by the same man and both were excellent! He worked so hard on me and did every different technique in the book! (Most places charge extra for different things like hot stone, etc, but it was all included). So far I've gotten an appointment both times on very short notice (ie. I called at 5 for and 8:00 appointment and they made sure to fit me in)! The price is awesome too, I'll be cancelling my massage envy membership and going here from now on! I will say, if you're looking for "finesse" or a spa-like atmosphere, this place probably isn't for you, but all I really care about is a great massage without paying a ton, and that's what they offer! read more

I have had all types of massages over the past 20 years and I must say this is on of the best for the price. If you want a quality massage in a safe very clean environment, then this is the place to be. I explained to the therapist because that is what it received therapy. I explained my back issues and he sort of did a mini exam right there on the spot and found my problem areas. I got in without an appointment. Since I like to explore all different types of massages I opted for the Chinese Tuina massage. Unless you have had Thai massage before you may not be prepared for the pushing and pulling aspect of this type of massage. I went in with a very stiff low back and right hip and left walking upright and without my usual limp. Again this is a very physical massage but it gets results. This was my only visit so I can't say how the regular massages are but I will be finding out over the coming weeks. read more

They look them over and ensure they hit those spots. They also ask about pressure and don't charge extra if you say you like deeep pressure- some places charge 20+ just for saying the word. I just had my first massage at U-Wellness, and so far it's the best I've had in KC! Sam is wonderful - very precise with his pressure, which makes all the difference. Many places just kind of pet you weakly and call it a massage, but Sam knows how to get in between the muscles and really dig in. I got the combo massage, and the foot massage was equally good - relaxing yet spot-on with the pressure points. I could have easily fallen asleep if I hadn't needed to drive home! I have been having neck and back pain, and my doctor asked me to get a deep tissue massage should it get worse. Over the weekend, it became excruciating. This place was literally a God Send. I totally disagree with the review I read here- it is acupressure, it's not supposed to be relaxing it's supposed to heal and release things on a deep level. I was suffering and hopeless with a severe migraine headache for a week day and night and I decided after trying everything to try this place. Sam worked on me for 1 hour and I am completely better. I'm so relieved that I could cry. I am now able to get out of bed and live my life. It does feel intense at times but that's because it's really doing it's work. This was the worst massage I have ever had. They pushed on my neck so hard I was dizzy and nauseous after the massage. It was supposed to be a relaxation massage but was anything but. This was my first time at U-Wellness Massage and my experience was down right scary. The first issue began early in the massage. I heard a bell ring and the guy excused himself right in the middle of my session which was weird to me because there was a lady there who could answer the door. When the guy came back he apologized for leaving and he resumed my session. Within the next 3-4 minutes I heard what I thought was a door creeking. I thought to myself, Is that the door opening, no it couldn't be. But as I was finishing that thought I heard the door continue to open slowly. I IMMEDIATELY popped up to find a women attempting to quietly come inside the room. When I popped up and saw her she quickly closed the door. Needless to say I was stunned. I didn't know if I would have to fight my way out of there or not. For the rest of the massage, yes I stupidly stayed, I was uneasy to the point where the guy kept saying relax, but how could I when just experienced some weird crap. Anyhow when it was over I never moved to fast to put on my clothes and get the hell out of there. There's a lot of reviews for this place but I believe most are fake. I feel obligated to share that this is not the place for a relaxing massage. It was the worst, most painful massage experience I've ever had. Even after the gentleman asked if it was too much pressure, and I said it most definitely was too much, it didn't change. I then said it hurt, still no change. I then asked if we could stop with my back & focus on other areas, still nothing changed. It was a digging, rubbing skin off with no oil, literally face jamming, elbow induced experience. I was debating just asking to be done, but lying there vulnerable & naked, just decided to bear it out. I was counting down the minutes from the beginning, trying to ignore him telling me to relax. Cmon man, I can't even breathe as you have your entire body weight jammed in me like you're angry at the world. It was so hot in the room, and by the end I felt nauseous. The odd, twangy Asian music (if you can call it that) only made the experience more unbearable. No thank you. No thank you to ALL of it. read more
