Trinity Kobbler is one of a handful of Leather Repair Shops around. I took in my favorite Mary Frances purse to ask if the strap could be repaired. Owners explained what could be repaired & what could not (only the underside of the strap because of the beading on top) for an expensive $30, which I prepaid as required. My issue is not with the workmanship, but rather the trips I made down traffic-jammed Germantown Parkway to Trinity to pick it up. On 3 occasions the shop was Closed at times other than what was posted as Lunch 3-4pm. Four days after the date & time posted as Ready on my Receipt, I sat in my car & waited for 1 hour. They never returned. I dialed the cell # written on the back of the business card repeatedly, but there was no answer, no voicemail, no callback. Two other Customers drove up while I was looking past the glare into the window, & expressed frustration that they too had made multiple phone calls & trips, only to find it closed during posted business hours. So I suggest that you call & speak to a live person to ensure that the shop will be open at the time you are planning your pickup. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I drafted this review in my iPhone Notes, then copied it & opened Yelp to paste it into a Review. I just read other Reviews which indicate that the lack of Customer Service is not an isolated incident but rather a pattern . . . I came to pick up my shoes today which I dropped off before co-vid. I tried numerous times to call and drop by to see if I could pick them up. There was no answer and it was always closed. I thought maybe he would have some option to pick up since his items are pre-paid. The owner yelled at me for not picking them up sooner! I never received a call from him and he insisted I did. Horrible customer service!! He was so nice when I dropped them off but horrible when I picked them up! I wanted my shoes more than he needed them to be picked up! The repair took an entire month. This was unbelievable and unacceptable. Each time I would call or show up, I was told it wasn't ready. Then when the item was finally repaired... the quality was terrible. The work looked rushed and it was careless. The daughter and wife work there; or maybe they are helping throughout the summer. I agree with the other reviewers, the wife is rude. I don't recommend taking your personal items there. And... I was overcharged for mediocre work. The only reason I paid was because I wanted my personal possessions back and I was tired of waiting and wasting more time. I've even walked in and waited for help. If you have shoes, sandals, boots, luggages or purses... to repair, this is the place to go! I brought my fancy heels to get them repaired this morning and they did it within 10 minutes while I chatted with Barbara, wife of the owner. Apparently, her husband, is also the instructor who trains Memphis City School kids in this trade - the only one, I believe. The person who now works here is his student of 20 years! Their store used to be on Kirby Parkway and Winchester for more then 17 years. They just moved to this Cordova location for a little more than a year... so don't mistake them for the other shoe repair that was here before ... They do great job and are responsible for their work. I believe they also do orthopedic fits for people like me with flat feet and more. Call to inquire, I'm not sure as I didn't get into the details. You might not see them driving on Germantown Parkway. The store actually faces Trinity. So you can take a right onto Trinity or turn right into where the grocery store is and head towards the right hand side by Subway (I believe). They are open 9am - 6pm Monday through Fridays and 9am - 3pm on Saturdays. read more

Damaged shoes that were left for repair then, when my wife had the audacity to mention it, she and a another lady customer were both called "a--holes" by the degenerate working the counter. As a long time customer I have to say that this store's customer service has become non-existent over the past few years. After being yelled at for being a few minutes past closing to pick up a pair of shoes ready and pre-paid, they can now consider me a FORMER customer. Yes, I realize I was a few minutes late but they were in the process of finishing up with another customer and it only took 1 minute of their time to hand me my shoes. Therefore, yelling at me that they were 'closed' seemed a bit unnecessary. I LOVED Trinity Cobbler, but I went by his business the other day, and it was locked up tight!!!! NO ONE IN SIGHT. No equipment seen through the window!!! A realtor's name on the door. Where has Mr Cobbler gone??? Has he retired (a well-deserved one at that!!) He worked very hard, was always very helpful and kind. We and others loved him and are disappointed that he has gone - - - - or maybe not? Perhaps another location with better rent or something....nearer his home???? He seemed too young to retire, but I am not a good judge of age or the possibility of a health issue. If you know where he is or has moved to, please let me know. Make sure to get there before they close. They are great but close at 5pm. I've never had anything but friendly service. They've fixed a couple pairs of shoes and some leather boots for me and do great work at a reasonable price. Shoe repair is a dying art and it's nice to know there is a place I can go to get my foot wear repaired. read more

I am new to this area and regret trying to patronize this place.......it doesn't deserve a star at all! The attitude of the female owner was as rude as imaginable! When I came in there was a customer complaining about the pickup of their prepaid repaired items. That was the sign to turn around and walk out. However, I gave them a chance and found myself reminding the owner with an attitude that I was a prospective customer only asking for their service. She acted as if this place was the only shoe shop in town and I somehow owed her my patronage! I dropped off my shoes and it's been about 2 -2 1/2 weeks because I was unable to get back by there to pick them up. I have now been by there twice this week to pick them up and they are CLOSED. The hours posted for Tues-Fri is 9am-6pm. Whats up with that? Now I don't know if I will ever get my shoes back even though I paid for the repair up front. This is the second time I have been here. Both husband and wife are the sweetest people. All repairs done have been great. This trip was extra special. My husbands white Elvis shoes needed some TLC. I just experienced the worst customer service as I was picking up a pair of shoes on this evening. I walked in this place and waited patiently to be acknowledged. Eventually, I knocked on the door towards the back to ask if these ladies, who were watching TV, worked at this place. The older lady, who I assume is the wife of the repairman/owner, EXPLODED with attitude for simply inquiring if they worked there. Just as other customers have stated in the reviews, the customer service at Trinity Kobbler is horrible. I will never do business with them again after being yelled at by the hot headed wife of the owner. She thinks because they "own" the shop they can do/say whatever they want. While I was there, 2 other customers came in to pick up their shoes that were not ready when they said they would be. One of the other customers left rolling her eyes & upset because they don't deliver on what they tell you. The man owner & his daughter are very pleasant but the wife has got a bad attitude. Only take your shoes here if you are prepared to be yelled at with hands flying & threatening that she won't give you your shoes even though you pay in advance. Could have simply been told to come back the next day but instead was treated extremely disrespectfully. When he is able to do the work it is very good work, but I've taken things there where he has not been able to do the work and does not seem to want to even try or do his best. Amazing work!! I brought my 22 year old cowboy boots in to be re-soled. They were done at the promised time and they look brand new!! I also left my $1,000 riding boots with them to be stretched. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend Trinity Kobbler to everyone! read more

Horrible customer service--- I took my only pair of dress shoes to Trinity Kobbler since the heels were coming off, and yes I had to pre-pay for the repair. Well, when I picked them up, they looked pretty good and had even been shined up a bit, so I put them back in the closet where they stayed until I was dressing to go to a wedding about a month later. When I put them on I thought a small pebble or something was in them but discovered that at least 6 small tack points were sticking up through each heel bed! Yep, I was walking on nails. I was able to hammer these down enough so I could go on to the wedding in them and not bleed to death. Taking them back to Trinity Kobbler I expected an apology, an offer to fix what was not right and even perhaps a return of some or all of my costs. Having started and run a successful small business for thirty years, I knew this is how I would treat my customers. So, I was shocked when the lady at the counter almost sneered at me as she said no nails are used in the process of re-heeling and their work had not been responsible for the nail points in the heel bed. She took the shoes and said the cobbler would look at them and call me if there would be an additional charge. Not only was this very poor customer service, the entire conversation with the woman was combative, defensive, unapologetic and very rude. I only hope she doesn't throw my shoes in the trash as she did not, as I discovered later, give me a claim stub. I will make one last trip there only to try to reclaim my shoes. read more

I had some motorcycle engineer boots 14" tall I wanted zippers installed and to cut some out to make the boot fit snug around calf When they finished a couple days later the boots looked and fit perfect Zipper was heavy duty luggage type .Craftsmenship and Service was very professional an very reasonably priced. Its unfortunate that a repair shop that has done good work for me previously will NEVER EVER NEVER be a business a will patronize again. EVER! Previously I had shown up 30 minutes early on one occasion to pick up my shoes. The male owner gave me all sorts of attitude. I didn't appreciate it but I continued to patronize. The last & final straw was not having my shoes ready on a Friday as promised after him having them over a week with no apology. I had shared with him I needed the shoes for a wedding on Saturday when I initially left them. So fine. I'll come back Saturday morning when you open. 9am... doors locked. Call at 9:30 in route to wedding to say I'll have my husband pick them up because The store was not opened this morning as scheduled on signage. The wife says... well we're open now and your husband will have to have your ticket when he picks up your shoes. EXCUSE ME! The ticket is with me heading to a wedding! She goes on to let me know how rude I am. REALLY? My shoes are a day late. You open late the day I come back to pick them up. And I'm the rude one? Girl Bye. I'm done. I'll take my money elsewhere. I took a pair of shoes in to be resewn. A week and $24 later, they were ready. BUT they had been glued, not sewn and they came apart two weeks later. I took the shoes to another shoe repair and for $11, they were sewn correctly. read more

I took a bag to be repaired; paid my money; then was unable to pick it up on this last Sat. after 3pm ; It was a Holiday week end so was unable to get to their shop till Tues. Living about 50 miles for the Kobbler . I called the number the owners wife gave me, Her voice telling everyone who calls the info about the shop also saying Mon. to Fri. they were open till 6PM. Working my way thought the really Bad Memphis traffic getting to the shop at 5:15pm the sign on the door said closed ! REALLY after all this they are closed when her voice said they were open till 6 PM. so I called the number again to see if I was wrong But I WAS NOT The voice said close at 6pm. so I left a message how upset I was. Wed. I drove all the way there again just wanting to give her my ticket get my bag say nothing and walk out forever ! But NO SHE wanted to LECTURE me on how they had closed at 5 pm for 2 years; So I said then you are Incompetent as the massage should have been changed 2 yr's ago ! She would not give me my bag again going on and on about this and that about she was Right and I was wrong !! REALLY ?? I am 64 yr's old and don't need to be Lectured by a RUDE person who thinks they are always right and wants the last word on everything. To get my bag I had to yell for her husband to please just give me my bag so I could go!! POOR MAN !! caveat emptor... I had two pairs of shoes in for heels. The date given to pick up, they neglected to tell me that they wouldn't be open all day. When I went back, I had to wait for them to finish up a pair of heels (even though they were promised the previous week). One pair, still doing well. Second pair I wore once, and the heels didn't make it through the day. Went back to see if they would honor their work, as I had the receipt, and it was the first time I had ever used this establishment. I was yelled at, in front of other customers, that there was no agreement and that I probably wore them out myself (mind you, most heels should last 6 months) and then was yelled at to get out of the store. I hope her daughter wasn't in the back, because when she was teaching her to take my order and credit information, she was quite patient. I pre purchased two repair of shoes a couple of weeks was in the area and did not have my ticket stub with me but had received text for payment which I thought was a courtesy for verification. I had told the owner but she said I needed my stub when I asked her about the text verification she yelled at me said I needed the ticket stub. I asked why she was so rude and she proceeded to point her finger right at my face telling me to leave and not come back without the ticket stub. There was another customer waiting so I glanced over at him to see his reaction she told me to quit looking at him while shaking her finger and yelling at me get out and return with the stub. I have never been so humiliated and embarrassed. I noticed throughout the establishment many Christian postings and assumed this was a respectable establishment. I returned within 10 minutes with my ticket stub and left which I will never return again. Took a pair of tennis shoes for gluing the some parts of the sole that was coming apart. Nothing complicated, right? 5 days later I come back for pick up and I noticed parts were not glued properly and bring that to the attention of the woman at the counter. She takes them to the back and the man who did the job, gives it another try. No big deal. This time he brings them back. I review the job and still there is another area not glued right. He is about to take the shoe back again after arguing with me that he didn't charge for that job! To which I replied "Just give me back my shoe" and wanted to leave the place, but he just walked away again with my shoe. Then I hear a woman sitting at the back saying "We had some rude ass customers" with loud voice. I kept my cool and said nothing, waited for the dude to bring my shoe and left the store. Maybe they will read this review about the sloppy job they do with simple requests, the inappropriate vocabulary used in the presence of customers, their lack of understanding of what good service is and perhaps they will figure out WHY THEY HAVE RUDE ASS CUSTOMERS. All I can say is "WOW!". Wish I read the previous reviews so I'd be prepared for being yelled at. The zipper in my boots was broken so I brought them in when the husband and daughter were present (very nice people!). When I came back the zipper was stitched and still difficult to zip up. The wife checked me out and I explained that I was disappointed that it was still difficult to zip. She then told me I could of had the zipper completely replaced. My exact words to her were "I did not know that. It may be helpful to give your customers options. I am a lay person when it comes to shoe repairs so I did not know I could have chosen to have the zipper replaced." Wow, that set her off yelling and flapping her arms at me: "Who was I to tell her how to run her business? How dare I. She has been in business for 30+ years. That I need to leave and take my business elsewhere and on and on and on." I do not believe I was being rude or beligerant. I thought I was trying to help. NO way! She can not take any type of feedback. I've grown up in the retail clothing industry so I have witnessed and experienced extremely rude customers. I was completely shocked to be treated this way when I wasn't getting upset nor was I being threatening. I truely have never experienced anything like this before.
