Drake Cleaners called back with an estimate within a couple of hours explaining that the leather would be sent out and an explanation of what was needed. I would expect this from any local cleaner that's been around for awhile. BUT THEN I asked Mitch (I think that was the name?) if he honestly thought it was worth the $150 minimum to fix it (zipper + all of the imperfections that I hadn't really noticed). He joked that as much as he'd like to have my money, it really probably was not worth it considering the cost of a new leather jacket nowadays (unless the jacket had sentimental value, which it does not). NOW THAT is some good honest business dealings. I do believe I will travel the extra couple blocks from my old dry cleaners (+ alterations) over to Drake now because they are good people. :)

She had been on the road traveling, was busy and wouldn't be home until later that evening but agreed to take a look at the coat. I went into her bathroom because this business is a her home. Changed my pants into the pants that needed altering. She pins me and draws these measurements on the pants for the waist and the hem. She didnt have my pants ready in time for my trip to Houston. I had to get an alterative outfit. And when i returned and finally forced her to return my pants they were ruined. They still have the tags, never worn. Doesn't say home based when you look her up on yelp.. but anyway. It's yelp ,so I went for it. I gave her chance. She even went out to celebrate her birthday at a place i recommend, used my name, got friends discount. But didn't produce on my pants and didn't try to make it right. Horrible quality of work. Unsatisfactory customer service and more on than scam side than business owner. And no she didn't give me back not one red cent, I pre paid to her.

What a find! Alicia…read morewas professional, experienced, and did a spectacular job on my sequined wedding dress! I changed my mind to dress number four (no, seriously, I went through four wedding dresses before I made up my mind). To add to my wedding stress, I am a double mastectomy breast cancer survivor, and the dress I bought at David's Bridal had a neckline that plunged too far for my new anatomy. My regular seamstress was going on vacation, and I was rushing around Memphis to find someone who could fix the neckline and under the arms for me. The wedding was two weeks away! Thankfully a quick internet search in my area led me to Alicia's Alterations in Germantown. I went in with my dress (no appointment, which I don't recommend--she is extremely busy) and hoped for the best. I knew within minutes of meeting her that she would help me and she did. I made a few failed runs to a fabric store to purchase the netting needed to make the needed alterations. I left her shop feeling confident that my dress would be perfect. The fabrics I chose were the wrong type (something about Lyrica being needed) so she went shopping for me! Above and beyond--she's gold. Alicia finished the necessary alterations on my dress in A WEEK and it fit me like a glove. No easy feat, because I am plus sized with the accompanying mastectomy/bra issues. And....she is affordable! I was shocked at how reasonable the final cost was. Each time I look at my beautiful wedding photos, I am reminded of Alicia's skill and kindness, doing the alteration with so little notice, with sequins and all, in wedding season.
