I can't thank Shaboy enough for coming through for me at the last minute. I had a button-up shirt I really wanted to wear for a big moment--proposing to my now-fiancée--but it didn't quite fit right. I explained the situation, and without hesitation, he fit me into his schedule. Not only did he tailor the shirt perfectly, but the result was seamless. You'd never know it had been altered at all--it looked like it came off the rack, made just for me. The quality of the work was that precise. What really stood out, though, was the time we spent talking after I dropped off the shirt. What I thought would be a quick visit turned into hours of great conversation. Shaboy is not just a skilled tailor, but a genuinely kind and thoughtful person who cares about his craft and his clients. The final shirt looked amazing--and most importantly, my fiancée loved how it looked on me. I'll always remember how he helped me look my best for one of the biggest days of my life. Highly recommend him to anyone needing expert tailoring with a personal touch! Thank you, Mr. Shaboy read more

Shaboy is a very skilled tailor and does QUALITY work at a very fair price. His customer service is unmatched, as he remembers every customer and probably every order they have ever had. He's amazing. I highly recommend Shaboy's custom tailoring. I honestly believe he is the best tailor in Memphis. read more

"No half steppin" Mr Shaboy rules! I am currently going to a wedding abroad and I haven't been to a tailor in a long time so I wasn't aware that one week was actually very last minute but he still told me he would get it done by the day before I left. Fast forward to a couple days out from my trip and i get the itinerary only to find out that I was mistaken and actually was leaving a day earlier. I called Mr Shaboy and he said don't worry I will make it happen. He actually stayed an hour and a half after his normal hours to accommodate me. His work speaks for itself, he has had clients from all walks of life that depend on him to make them look as fresh as possible. Mr. Shaboy is dedicated to his craft and will make sure that any and all of your needs are met and he will make you feel like family which is rare to find nowadays. Mr Shaboy and his business are Memphis gem and I look forward to working with him in the future and will suggest him to anyone I know that needs and alterations done! Thank you Shaboy!!!!! read more

Shaboy is the only person working this business so if you need something in a timely manner, this is not the place for you. I left a dress and he did not give me a set price or date for the alterations of the dress. I had to call him 3 times to ask him about the status, the last time I called him he told me i could go pick it up at the end of the day in which I did. He STARTED working on the dress when I arrived and I had to sit there for a hour while he worked on my dress and made another customer wait behind me as well. I felt rushed as Shaboy stated he had an event to go to. When I tried it on for work the dress was not fitting well so I returned and he basically gave me many excuses as per usual as to why he could not work on my dress and that he had no clue how much time it would take to fix it. I have never encountered a more un organized business. He also talks negatively about customers to other customers and rambles and rambles the ENTIRE time you are there not being aware that people have limited time on their off days to get stuff done. read more

I came to Mr. Shaboy with a tux and a suit that needed major work from a previous tailor's job. Mr. Shaboy talked me through what needed to be done and when he would be able to turn them around. He did a FANTASTIC job and returned them back to prior to me needing them. This was my first experience, but I will be back with more of my tailoring needs. Thanks again! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Shaboy. He helped me in a tight situation. I purchased a new suit online on a Saturday, paid extra for expedited shipping, and it still arrived late. I called Mr. Shaboy in advance and explained the situation. I needed the suit back for a wedding the following Saturday (seven days). Unfortunately, I did not receive the suit until Tuesday evening, so I was unable to get it to Mr. Shaboy until Wednesday morning. I called him before arriving to make sure it was still possible. He told me to bring the suit; he would get it done. While getting measurements, we began to talk. I am glad that I took the time to listen and speak to him. He has quite a few stories to tell. In the short time I was there I felt comfortable, I would have my suit by the promised time. Saturday, the day of the wedding, Mr. Shaboy told me to check-in with him in the morning. He answered the phone with a jovial tone and said, "I'm working on you now. You'll be ready soon". Time was of the essence, and he did not waste a moment. My suit was ready BEFORE the promised time. He insisted I try it on before leaving the tailor shop, to make sure it was perfect. I was so happy with how my suit looked. I received several compliments; they had no idea the anxiety I was dealing with before getting my suit back. If you need a tailor who does excellent work and will deliver when you need him, Shaboy is the man! I will continue to use him for all my alterations. My only regret is that I did not find out about him sooner. read more

Shaboy was wonderful. He is very kind and takes his work very seriously. He worked with me to tailor a bridesmaid's jumpsuit that was less than flattering when I purchased it. He did great work! Would definitely use him again! read more

Went to see Mr. Shaboy to get some shirts done. He didn't try to give me the run-around and had me go buy some good off-the-rack options and bring them to him. He then worked some pinning magic and when I returned had them all cut to fit wonderfully. I need 2XL tall shirts, but I don't have the typical belly of someone who needs that size, so having a total investment in 4 nice dress shirts is unmatched. Definitely a fine tailor, and would definitely give him all my business if I hadn't moved away. read more

Shaboy is as professional as his work. I could not have asked for better service or work.

Mr Shaboy is an excellent tailor! He keeps my son looking so dapper and he helped me at the last minute on a dress for my son's rehearsal dinner. Great alterations. I had a suit jacket and sport coat taken in at the waist and pants let out in the waist. Timely. Fair Price. Very neat work. Overall 5 star professional experience. read more

Shaboy gets the job done with pride! I called him in need of some stitch work on a leather jacket...of course at the last minute. He took the time to make sure he understood how I wanted it to look/fit and within a few minutes, I walked out with it perfectly done. I'm new to Memphis and will be going to Shaboy for all my tailoring in the future. Super friendly! read more

Here he is -- the fabulous tailor who is also conveniently located. I recently purchased a suit at Burlington Coat Factory, but of course the jacket needed alterations. The boyfriend pointed out this shop next door, so I checked the reviews, was reassured by the 5 stars across the board, and rang his bell. Shaboy could not have been more welcoming and helpful. He shortened the sleeves and replaced the button, with the highest quality tailoring I've seen in a long time. He was eager to show me the work and explain what would be needed, and I had no argument with his prices ($44 total, I think). When I mentioned the possibility of an upcoming interview, he assured me that if I needed the jacket sooner, I should just call him and he would make it happen for me. As it was, the work only took a week, which isn't bad at all for a one-man band! So if you need tailoring, look no further -- this is it! read more

Today, I took a suit that I purchased from the internet for alterations. Shaboy showed me that there wasn't enough material to lengthen the pants so they would fit correctly. He also showed me that to fix the collar so it would fit snugly around the neck would be a big job. For his efforts he didn't charge anything. Shaboy was very helpful and I would certainly recommend him to a friend. read more

Since moving here, I have been working a manual labor job full time, which obviously did not require professional attire. However, I went to school for business and was looking to get back into an office setting. I finally landed an interview for a professional office position, which I was absolutely ecstatic about. However, upon trying on my suits, I quickly realized that a) some of my suits did not travel well (snags, small holes, etc) and b) my body had changed due to the manual labor work. Long story short, I needed a tailor, and quickly, as my interview was five days away. I looked to Yelp to find a local tailor that could do quality work, and was lead to Shaboys. Upon entering the establishment, he was very warm and welcoming, and was actively engaged with me throughout the process. I tried on a couple suits and he was very honest with me, telling me that one suit was beyond repair. However, we decided to move forward with the second suit. To follow up on the honesty, he told me that my pants needed no work; he could have easily taken advantage of the situation and charged me extra for services I unknowingly didn't need. Casually during conversation the interview was brought up, and I told him the interview time. He had told me that if he were to work his normal store hours, he would not be able to get to it in time, but to be helpful and accommodating, he was willing to stay after hours on Monday to put work on my suit jacket. I came back to the shop that Monday night and he was ironing the suit and again was very conversational and welcoming. I tried on the suit jacket and let me tell you, I don't think I've ever had a jacket fit so well in my life; this jacket now truly felt like it was exclusively made for me. I walked out of there having only spent thirty dollars, and that day he gained another faithful customer. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of an alteration to their clothes, and would recommend they let him do his thing; he is a true master of his craft. read more

I'm starting this review by saying that the work Shaboy does is very good. The shirts he tailored for me fit very well afterward, and the quality of the new seams and stitching appeared flawless. I am not giving Shaboy 3 stars for his quality. The reason I am not giving Shaboy 5 stars like everyone else is because he forgot about me. I have a 19 inch neck, so I have to by my shirts VERY big. But that makes them a balloon on me. So I decided to try tailoring, and Shaboy's shop is right around the corner from where I got them. I saw all the great reviews on Yelp, it was a no-brainer. I took them in there, we spoke about what I wanted, told him I didn't need them for 3 weeks. He even looked relieved that he'd have so much time, and said he wished everyone gave him 3 weeks. He said to come back on the afternoon of July 17 to get them. I knew something was wrong when I walked in his store and saw his reaction to seeing me. He told me that he had forgotten all about doing my shirts and they were still exactly as I had dropped them off. I was dumbfounded. I get that the guy is busy, and I get that he's a human and humans make mistakes. He told me to come back the next day at 2pm to pick them up. So I now had to make another trip out to his shop, a 1 hour round trip, to collect my shirts. He did have them on time the second time, and even called me before 2 to let me know he was all finished. I would still recommend Shaboy's service, but call him to make sure he's going to have your items ready before you drive out to pick them up. read more

Shaboy does good work. I recently bought a dress for a very important professional event. The print/material and basic shape of the dress were great, but it didn't fit well. Shaboy shorted the hem and the slip, made it smaller in the waist, and took in the back - which required replacing the entire zipper. A week later and it looked great! It could not have fit me better, and at a very reasonable price. read more

Shaboy did a fantastic job with my daughter's dress for prom!!! It was the perfect fit just as he promised!

Shaboy knows what he's doing. I had a leather jacket that was of good quality, but had a cheap acetate lining. It had many years left in the shell, but the lining and facing were very worn in places. Shaboy did a nice patch job on the worn areas, when he easily could have sold me a full lining. He charged a fair price for the work entailed. I'm gonna give you this advice.....just let him do his work. Don't try to rush him. He is a One-man operation. If he has work ahead of yours, it's a testament to his abilities that you have to be patient. He has your number.....he will call you when it's ready. read more

This man is the best. He is not only extremely personable and kind, but he is above all the BEST in town at alterations. Recently I was giving a London Fog wool trench coat. It was my grandfathers who is 101 this Saturday! I wouldn't trust anyone else to tailor this precious coat to my sizes except Mr. Shaboy! When I tried it on it felt PERFECT. He loves his work and takes pride and it shows. I always tip him too because he is a true artist and I always pay him extra. read more

Hands down the best tailor in Memphis! He was very nice, reliable, and does overall "great work!" I purchased my tuxedo a week ago and gave him a due date. Mr.Shaboy response was "ok I will have it ready the day before." He took out each and every imperfection in that suit and turned it around completely! I cant stress this enough! I finally found a reliable great tailor in Memphis. Most importantly he's an very overall great individual. He loves what he does and takes pride in his work! I needed patches sewn onto a leather vest, and every leather store in town turned the job down. It was all for the best, because I got it done right by Shaboy. He is well articulated and let me know exactly what the process would be and what date he could have it done by. The patches are stitched and spaced well. I had a lot invested in the vest and custom patches already, so it was well worth the price of a professional tailor to have it done properly. If I need more tailoring done in the future then I'll be back to Shaboy's! read more

This was my first time here. Mr. Shaboy is truly a pro. He masterfully performed alterations on my Schott NYC motorcycle jacket. The heavy thick leather increased the degree of difficulty of the job. So I was rather inconsiderate and needed a pair of pants hemmed in about 30 or so hours. I called Shaboy up, he was exceedingly friendly, and I immediately knew I was going to his shop. When I got there, we chatted for a bit, set up the pickup date/time and the price (which was nice and low, especially considering the rush). The place was also clean and orderly, with all the finished clothing in the front, ready to hand to the customers, and the clothing that needed done was in the back, mostly hidden from view unless you went in the changing room. When the given day rolled around, he was done a few hours early. (I myself was not ready to pick up immediately, funnily enough.) I got there about an hour early, chatted with him for about half an hour since I wasn't in a rush, and went on my merry way. From what I can tell, the hems on these pants are much more sturdy than they were before, and they look really quite professional as well. So in short: Service: 10/10 Because the hems look built to last. Price: 10/10 Service... time?: 10/10, since he was done early even on a rush order. Friendliness: 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Seriously, I can't recommend this guy enough. If you can make it there, be nice and he'll be nice right back. read more

I went in a few weeks ago with a small tear on the back of my suit pants, in a spot that would typically be pretty difficult to fix without it being obvious. Shaboy and I settled on a price and date of when I could pick the pants up. As it turns out, I needed them much sooner than I anticipated. I called Shaboy and explained my situation, and he was happy to help me out and I ended up picking the pants up the very next day. He did an absolutely incredible job on the detail of his work. He honored our original price, even though he went above and beyond to help me out. Shaboy is one of the nicest people I've ever met, and he will be getting my business time and time again. Highly recommended. read more

Rude. Rude. Rude. Just walked in and walked out. Upon entry I told him I had never been in before but had two dresses I need hemmed and asked if that is something he might be able to help with. He stated abruptly that he was not looking at the dress and that he did not know what he was dealing with and therefore could not quote a price. I nicely told him I had the dresses and asked if he could look at them. He stated - again - as if he could care less wether or not he got my business - that he was "very busy" but would make some time. I nicely told him that -- that's okay and if was too busy I could go do business elsewhere - and started toward the door. He tried to stop me and I told him I was moving on. He told me my "attitude was wrong." I walked out. I'd say this man is the one with the attitude issues! read more

Mr. Shaboy helped me get my dress ready a DAY before an event I was going to attend. I called him after many people around my area said they were swamped (I live in Bartlett).
