Trin had some great nachos and wraps this time we came. Had to go with the classic bold rock pitcher too. I love on nice days when they open up the big glass windows and there's so much "outdoor" seating. Downstairs bathrooms are fairly clean but don't venture upstairs. At night, Trin 3 (third floor) can get packed and sometimes you can get to the DJ booth but usually not. Waiters during the day are super chill too. Would recommend for their Happy Hour 12-4 for half off spin dip and other appetizers. Drink deals too. Dogs are allowed!!! read more

This is a college bar, so for being a college bar it tends to be a more popular one. Burgers and quesadillas are decent. Food is not what they're known for but it's fine. Drinks are usually average priced compared to other spots on the corner. This is a popular college bar, so if you're older than 22 I'd probably look towards downtown for your night out. read more

Trin's food is solidly average. They have a great $3 burger deal every Thursday, and decent prices and specials on other items. More than anything, Trin is a college bar. It's a fun place to hang out on the weekends, but their drinks are relatively expensive compared to other places on the Corner. Decent start to the night. Eventually had to wait half an hour for a drink I ordered while the downstairs bartenders took shots with their friends and forgot my order. When I closed my tab they yelled across the bar "thanks for the shitty tip" (I didn't tip well bc they didn't even get my last drink) Went upstairs and everyone was rude and pushing so much what was left of my last drink spilled everywhere. Trinity is your typical crowded, sweaty night bar for UVA undergrads and grad students. Cheap beer, big pours, and elbow to elbow kind of vibes. While that's not my jam, it may be yours! I will say, Trinity has been very gracious in hosting many Darden events such as Darden Oktoberfest and is very flexible in closing the bar for big group parties/reservations. I think they're deserving of a solid 3.5, so hopefully this review pushes them closer there. read more

The crown jewel of the UVA hot mess experience. Trinity is the bar you go to when you're ready to have some of the worst nights of your college career. Literally no one ever actually has fun here, but everyone keeps coming back anyway. The moment you go upstairs you'll be engulfed in a suffocating sea of your fellow classmates. There is no space to even try to dance to the music blaring through the speakers. All you can do is slowly but surely shove yourself around the room aimlessly until you make eye contact with someone whom you will surely regret. You will spend your entire college experience coming back here with this irrational hope that maybe this night is the one night you'll have a good time. But inevitably the night will always end with a huge wave of remorse and terrifying existentialism. I also got a salad from here once when I came during the daytime. It was good. read more

Because I walk by this place everyday and hadn't ever eaten there, my friend and I decided to stop by for lunch on a Friday afternoon for their happy hour. They have a great patio outside on the corner that's great on a nice warm day. I ordered the veggie burger and a Blue Moon. It was just okay-I'm fairly certain it was the same No Bull patty that Bodo's serves on their bagels. On a bun with cheese and lettuce it was really nothing special (and I think it tastes better on a bagel), especially for $11. I did like that they offer a salad as a healthy alternative to fries on the side. That was okay too, but nothing special. Trinity is most well known at UVA for being a bar, and I think it does that job the best. Lots of dancing and drinks. As for the food, it's nothing special and probably not a place I'd go to eat again. read more

We got turned away last night after being asked to wait in line, which is hilarious because this is Trinity in Charlottesville, not an exclusive club in NYC, and it's not upsetting but insulting that the bouncer thought we would cut in line like he kept insisting that we did. Despite the group of guys behind us who also confirmed we were first. We don't know if he has the memory of a goldfish or if he was purposely gaslighting us, but this was truly embarrassing for all involved, and when he said "well I don't appreciate you arguing with me because you can either get in the back of the line or leave," obviously the preferred option is leaving. Trinity is not even worth considering as an option in the Charlottesville scene. read more

The first time I visited Cville, I ate lunch here at one of the tables very close to the outside. It was super pleasant, and the front windows were all open, so it felt like we were outside. They have NoBull burgers on the menu, which is awesome! It wasn't until I actually moved here that I figured out that Trinity is actually the place where undergrads go to rage. They have an upstairs area that on the weekend gets really crazy. I only go to Trinity for events, but every time I'm there, I feel like the floor may collapse at any minute. It's actually quite scary. I'm not really a fan of Trinity, but if you love to dance and rage and are under the age of 22, you will love it! read more

First off, this is a pub on a college campus. You know that going in, so why complain about it later. Next the service is very good here. The staff was all friendly and attentive. We got the spinach and artichoke dip and steak rolls (philly cheese steaks in an egg roll) as appetizers and then shared fish and chips and sweet potato fries. The appetizers were delicious and very filling, could have just gotten those for our meal. The fish and chips were just average. Definitely a place we will be coming back to. Lastly, they catered lunch to my wife's school and picked up the tab for the educators. Way to give back. read more

Your classic college bar. Cheap drinks, good music, and seemed to be popular with the UVA crowd. They have a large bar, back room and an upstairs area. Students were filtering in around 10:30/11:00pm and while there was a steady stream of students, it was not overwhelmingly crowded or rowdy. If you are looking for a typical college bar where you can get beer and mixed drinks at a reasonable price, Trinity is a good spot. read more

We just came from game day at the Trinity Pub. Home of the Buffalo Bills Backers. What a great place and a fun time! The Buffalo fans are friendly and welcoming And passionate about their Bills!! And so much energy!! It was like being at the game with the music, fan and "Shout" song. The menu was debuting their new and improved chicken wing recipe. OUTSTANDING! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and the right amount of hot sauce! We will definitely be back for another fun game! And on a personal note - this place was VERY clean. Stopped in for a drink and we happened to be in town when the college kids were back. It was the week they came back to start their Fall term. It was a mad house in the area. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The bartenders were friendly but it took us awhile to get our drinks when it wasn't really busy inside yet as it was just before most people would eat supper. It also took us awhile to get our tab so that we could pay and move along. The bar was clean and the chairs were comfortable. The entire place was clean. Based on the service we received we would not return. If the service matched up to the ambience we would have a different opinion. read more

No sanitary practice at the bar at all. Bartender and servers touching cups, pitchers and straws by the top. Poor hygiene practice, especially these days. College bar or not, there should be some safe practices involved in serving drinks. read more

The WORST time ever at a bar. The bartender didn't even know how to make a Long Island ice tea (LIT) I couldn't believe it. He had kinda long hair and SUCKED. They had good music but hey if you tell me you don't know what an LIT is than you are NO bartender. That was awful and after he made it, I told him it wasn't right and be shrugged his shoulders. I really don't understand why people love this place. I have been a few times for private events which is fun and nice that they will close off the space for you but as soon as the event ended it is full of drunken undergrads who can't hold their alcohol. Also it is always so loud and the floor is so sticky and dirty that you can't actually talk to anyone so come just expecting to drink. read more

We should have kept walking. The menu looked promising. Our waitress was friendly and attentive at first, but became engrossed with the young male students at the bar. I'll make this short and sweet. The spinach and artichoke dip was soupy, so-so. My husband did enjoy his Pub Burger. I had the fish & chips, the beautifully battered and fried cod was tasteless. The chips/fries were fine. I'm sure college aged folks love the place, but don't bother eating here unless you want "pub grub." read more

Fried chicken sandwich was really dry on the inside and too greasy on the outside. The fries that came with it were kinda burnt and really skinny and they serve water in plastic cups which automatically is just a bit tasteless and also unnecessary trash. I don't get all the hate and the somewhat negative reputation - as a college bar, it totally knows what it's doing. A group of friends and I came to Trinity around 11PM on a Saturday. The interior of the place is MASSIVE - two floors with three bars. The downstairs bar is a bit more low key with more seating while the two up stairs are a bit more raucous (what with a dance floor and all). The place was pretty full when we got there and only got more crowded as the night went on. I thought the drinks were really cheap and the bartenders perfectly adequate. I agree with the reviewer that the bartenders seemed to not know how to make some basic drinks/shots (as a Irish bar you should really know what's in an Irish Breakfast shot), so make sure you know what's in your favorite mixed drink before going here. The gin and tonic I had was mostly gin, which I appreciated. Overall, Trinity knows exactly what it wants to be and excels at it: a somewhat trashy and fun college bar that is barely Irish. Probably one of my least favorite bars on the Corner on weekend nights, though if you're looking for some dancing this is one of the only places that offers it. It is huge inside, plenty of space and lots of drunk people doing (probably) sketchy things in dark corners. Drinks are fine, nothing special. The music isn't great. Danceable, but mostly in the jumping-up-and-down kind of way from what I've heard there. Edit: HOWEVER, if you're looking for a place to have a drink while you're watching some soccer during the day, this is the place to go on the Corner. One of UVA's main dive bars. While it's not Boylan Heights it still is a solid place on its own if you're looking for that gritty feel and vibe. The guineas was great. I had the trinity Grill Cheeze - I was looking for something light but Zesty and this grilled cheese included tomato, bacon, on the sandwich. But, the bread was super thick and overwhelming for the sandwich. And I should've known better as the tomatoes are out of season. Please be aware that since I've only been to Trinity once and it was during the day, I cannot comment at all on what the scene is like here at night. I had a bad craving for a veggie burger and decided to give Trinity a try since it's so close to grounds. I was there from about 5:30 to 7, and the place was not very busy at all. The music was a little loud for the time of day, but was decent for the most part. Unfortunately their drink specials do not start until 9 pm, so a burger and two beers ran me $20 + tip. The burger was simple, no frills bar food, but was still very tasty. Although the patty did fall apart a little towards the end of the meal, I've found that's far preferable to getting a perfectly formed but pre-frozen one! I chose fries instead of salad as my side and they were nicely cooked. I didn't need ketchup for them. The portions were rather large and I was definitely stuffed when I left, but not in the uncomfortable or unpleasant way mentioned in some of the other reviews. The two beers together were actually more expensive than my meal. I ordered a dark variety that wasn't on the menu (can't remember the name, sorry!) and it was really quite good--and this is coming from someone who is very hard to please when it comes to beer! The service was excellent. My waitress was very pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable with respect to the menu, and reasonably attentive without being annoying about it (It was obvious that I was doing some reading for a class). The late night scene is the best in the corner -- with a DJ most nights and a great sound system. I recommend the grilled cheeses and the Irish car bombs.
