So many people in our bridal party kept commenting how "awesome your coordinator is! WOW She's on top of it!" And I attribute that to why I was able to enjoy the night as thoroughly as I was. Stephani truly is A+++ at her job. She made us both feel so taken care of and brought items (vases/signs) from her own personal arsenal to enhance our special day. Katy TX is approx. 1hr drive from Houston airport, 30min from downtown Houston Galleria where my lodging will be located. I have a few tourist attractions in mind while visiting. Galveston coastline/ beach is approx. 1hr from Houston. So I finally got the chance to visit beautiful Palm Royal Villa!! Whewww its absolutely amazingly gorgeous!! I see why one would organize a fabulous event at this location. They have two floors and rooms upstairs for the hostess to use. My friend and her wedding party were getting dressed when we arrived, so I got to see a little bit of upstairs. We checked in, temp checks, guest list check in, hand sanitizer, and mask worn for the event. The employees and staff coming to Villa followed the CoVid recommended guide lines. Everything was set up nicely and organized, we did stay inside until the wedding started due to the heat. The staff were really friendly and welcoming during our visit. The event and caters for the wedding did a fabulous job! There was a DJ, bar service and a photographer at the event. I took alot of pics, some reviews on google complained about the Villa not having many reviews or pics. Hopes this helps others who may be considering using the facility for the future. The website does gives some details and contact information. Keep in mind the heat when doing a outdoor event during CoVid. We really enjoyed ourselves. I felt like we stepped out of the country for a bit!! I would highly recommend them in the near future.

First Level: Ceremony Space!!! This is a lovely space. If you are sitting in the back, it may be a bit hard to see and hear. But I think if you bring in your own DJ, the sound may be your responsibility?? The Rustic look of the ceremony space is beautiful and did I mention that it is covered. It technically indoor/ outdoor. Half of the first floor is walled off and the other half allows for a nice breeze to flow. Not to mention that they have a large fan under the pavillion. Second Level: The reception! Parrrrrtay anyone!!! This level is accessible via the elevator or the stairs. This room is large enough to fit circle, square, and oblong shaped tables. It is also large enough to fit the dinner buffet in it as well and a bar area. The restrooms on this floor is limited, but no worries, if they are occupied, you can easily go to another floor! Third Level: Rooftop... Woooohoooo!!! This rooftop is beautiful and spacious. This is accessible via elevator and via stairs. The set up included cocktail tables and minimal seating. Also, there are a few outdoor/patio umbrellas, but when the sun is out, man this place is hot!!! So, just be ware. If you have a summer time event, please wait until the sun goes down or provide plenty of coverage. There is also a bar set up on this level. In essence, this is a nice venue for a wedding or a swanky party. It looks like they give their hosts flexibility with decor, food, and DJ. They do have valet, but the line was too long. Their parking lot wasn't very big. So, valet needed to be creative with parking cars. We opted to self park, which was problematic with the rain and standing water in the parking spots. Inside, there was security on the first floor and a winding staircase. The wedding reception was located on the second floor. In front of the venue entrance, there was a fun photo booth, a full bar, a pile of wedding favors, and a backdrop for picture taking with the bride and groom. The reception venue itself was huge. For perspective, this venue housed about 600 guests. So, if you're looking for a venue for a large party, this is your spot. There were brightly lit, huge chandeliers above us. There was a decent sized dance floor in the middle of the room, and a long table for guests to enjoy milk tea from The Teahouse - I enjoyed the strong tea flavor, despite how sweet it was for me. We got to our table, which barely squeezed nine of us in comfortably. But, we managed. I did enjoy how much food we received at this wedding. Like other Kim Son weddings I've attended, I'm always left full after these events. There were 9 courses, which included the wedding cake. My favorites of the night included the Peking Duck & Steamed Bun, Grilled New York Strip & Asparagus (although, I didn't eat the asparagus. lol), the seafood part of the Seafood Bird's Nest, and the Yang Chow Fried Rice. The Photo Booth was really fun. There were all kinds of props and quotes to choose from for fun pictures. Although, there was only a short amount of time to pick our props and take the pictures. The food is your average Vietnamese dishes and they do accommodate to vegetarians. You can request a blueprint of how the tables will be set up to plan your seating chart. You can also ask the manager to tour the venue beforehand. However, sometimes it was hard to get in touch with the manager. Although the venue was spacious, the parking lot was not. At least not if you have 400-500 guests coming. On Sunday's, there is a church in the same plaza so the parking spaces were taken up. Additional parking can be found around the plaza. Overall, a good venue to plan your special occasions.

We snapped a quick pic of their information and off we went. We snapped the pic of their info as we had been discussing with our daughter, who is pregnant, that she wanted us to host a gender reveal party. So, this was perfect timing. We went to their website and filled out a questionnaire detailing what we needed - date and time, bartender, security if bartender needed and pricing was provided. We found the rates reasonable and booked the event. When we got closer to the event, we went in for a tour of the facility and confirm everything. The owner, Carmelite Middleton, met us there and walked us through everything. The day of the event, Ms Middleton met us there and opened the bldg up for us and made sure everything was in place, even loaning us a tablecloth as we mis counted when we bought ours. The bartender and security arrived and off we went. Event was great. A/C kept room cool on a hot and muggy Tx day. When over, we cleaned up, Ms Middleton arrived and locked up behind us. We received our secuity deposit a few days later. This is a great smaller venue for gatherings with around 60 attendees. If and when we have a need for this type of venue, Middleton will be our first call.

I recently hosted an event at Middleton Venue, intending to create a memorable and positive…read moreexperience. Unfortunately, dealing with the venue owner and staff was disappointing and stressful. While the venue has clear guidelines about wall decorations, I explicitly told a guest not to place tape on the walls, however damage occurred. During follow-up discussions, the venue owner called me a liar stating I had been dishonest in recounting these events, which was both hurtful and baseless. While she claimed to have audio evidence that contradicted my account, this was unsubstantiated. I was told they wanted my side of the story, but when explaining what happened I was met with "you're lying to me and my video evidence is all I need. and felt like an unfair characterization. During this conversation and previous conversations with the owner where she mentioned waiving fees, yet this was later dismissed as irrelevant when I brought it up. She stated that she would be charging the full amount because I lied to her. Additionally, I was charged an extra hour for running three minutes over the time allowed. What's particularly upsetting is that these minutes were actually spent speaking with the facility director, discussing wall damage and ensuring we left the space in good condition. Despite this, the owner insisted on charging additional amount rather than showing understanding or leniency for a few minutes over. This also was not even mentioned at the time of the event, only based off of their camera time when everyone was OUTSIDE of the venue. The extra charge seemed unnecessary and nitpicky. Ultimately, this experience was marred by excessive charges, contradictory statements from the owner, and an overall lack of professionalism. I would advise future clients to record all conversations and double-check every verbal agreement to avoid the issues I encountered. I cannot, in good faith, recommend Middleton Venue to others based on my experience.
