I have never gotten...or trusted acupuncture until i started getting treatments from Christy. She made a believer out of me. Even though I'm Asian...I definitely trusted in the safety of western medicine and its empire of pills. However, I gave acupunture and herbal stuff a try with Christy's persistent urging to trust her with my oh-so precious life. First...to begin with...I do not go to the doctor's...it's a Korean second generational thing. So if I'm asking for help...it's because I'm in pain or extremely uncomfortable. Dr. Kim is the epitome of compassion and empathy. I was scheduled to have a consultation with Dr. Kim on a Saturday. I knew that she had a full schedule but my health problems were somewhat urgent so she made time to meet with me to talk about my recent health issues. At the time, I was suffering from a severe headache because of a migraine, strained neck, and head muscle tension/compulsion. During the consultation, I told Dr. Kim about my severe pain and how much it's been affecting my daily activities. Coincidentally, a patient had canceled very last minute so with a sudden change of plans, Dr. Kim offered to treat me that same day. I knew it was difficult for her to adjust to such a last-minute cancellation but her compassion and empathy allowed her to see the urgency of my pain. The treatment itself was phenomenal. I knew that she was short on time because of such last-minute changes but her treatment did not reflect it. She targeted all my problem areas. She was also mindful about my sensitive areas. After the treatment, I felt less strain on my neck and my head felt 10x lighter. Dr.Kim seriously knows what she's doing and results have been amazing! But the reason why I keep going back to her is because she really cares about her patients and makes me feel so at ease even with my fear of needles. I was a skeptic when I first visited. But while waiting in the reception area, one lady shared about how she had cured her sister from her crushing back pain for years that no one was able to heal. Because of that, that lady had to at least come check it out for her own issues. So I walked in with a bit more confidence and peace. I went in for some stomach issues, but with just reading my pulse and observing my tongue color she was able to tell that I was on my menstrual cycle! I rolled my ankle playing basketball a friend of mines suggested I get some acupuncture. Tried it out and it healed a lot faster than it normally does. Also had a messed up neck from a car accident and I came here and with only a few treatments my neck went back to normal. Since then I've tried a couple of other Acupuncture places and found Christy to be the most honest. I aggravated my knee 3 years ago by being overconfident and overzealous while preparing for a 10k run and my knee hasn't been the same since. I didn't want to go into surgery for something that wasn't too serious but at the same time I needed to fix the problem before things got worse and that's when I went to Christy (should I be calling her Dr. Christy?). I explained what my deal was and she went to work, needling me after explaining exactly what she was going to do. The needling process was surprisingly painless and I even started to doze off while my leg looked like a pin cushion. Once the procedure was done my knee felt brand new and I am even able to do training runs on my bike in preparation for a century ride with no problems! I also returned to her to combat a niggling cough I had after experiencing extreme frustrations with my HMO doctor who kept prescribing me antibiotic after antibiotic which would keep the cough away for a few months before returning again stronger than ever. Before I went ballistic on that frittata, I got in touch with Christy and she gave me some cheap herbal medicine which alleviated the problem almost immediately. Who knew acupuncturists had that knowledge too? I was expecting to go in to get some lung piercings. If I need major surgery where I need to get my spinal cord replaced I will attempt to contact my HMO doctors but for everything else I am definitely coming back to Christy who conveniently has another location in Torrance on the corner of Anza Ave and 190th which is close to my home while this OC location is close to my work. read more

I was having shoulder pain for a good year and just trying to massage it out. It was like a knot in my shoulder. My wife suggested acupuncture and I thought it would not hurt to try it. I hadn't tried acupuncture until a month ago. Prior to seeing Dr. Kim, I had been suffering for two months from several physical symptoms, felt really weak, and even thought I might have to go to the hospital. My primary care doctor referred me to three different specialty doctors and after multiple labs and tests, they couldn't find anything substantial. This is my new happy place. I started coming here only two weeks (once a week) and I feel so much better overall. I have had an autoimmune disease for the last ten years which makes me feel extremely tired and I have muscle/joint pain all over my body. At the moment I am being a rebellious 25 year old and I do not want to take plaquenil for my condition. I'll preface my review by saying that though I'm fairly new to acupuncture, I'm generally very, very picky about the providers and services I use. I was also very skeptical about the power of acupuncture (was raised to believe western medicine was everything!). With that, I'll break down my initial thoughts... SERVICE: Christy is an amazing acupuncturist! I needed to find my own acupuncturist for an ongoing work injury since the state puts limits on workers' comp treatments, and going to Christy was the cure. She's very professional and genuinely cares about what you're going through and how she can better treat you. She tempers my ongoing pain and is very attentive. I hate needles (who does?), but I can barely feel them when Christy does acupuncture on me (except for when she puts it in points that indicate stress because I'm stressed ALL the time!). Most importantly, Christy is incredibly passionate about her work and it definitely shows. I'd also like to comment that the massage therapist that works with Christy is amazing! The couple of times Christy has had her work on me have been great. She makes sure the amount of pressure applied is appropriate and I feel much better and relaxed all around! CUSTOMER SERVICE: Christy is very responsive via telephone and email for scheduling appointments. FACILITY: Minimalist, calming, cute and CLEAN! Comfortable couches available in the waiting room. One bathroom located inside the office (not like the gross bathrooms that serve everyone on a medical building floor). LOCATION/PARKING: The medical building is in a great location right off of Torrance Blvd. You can enter the parking lot either through Torrance Blvd. or a small residential street in the back. Dr. Kim and her staff are Wonderful! My husband and I were in a car accident and after no results with Physical Therapy I called Dr. Kim. I have never tried acupuncture before but I was seeing no marked improvement with PT so I made an appointment. I was so shocked at how fast Dr. Kim and her staff were able to help me with increased mobility and pain reduction. Once my neck improved we began to work on my chronic migraines. Dr. Christy is seriously the BEST!!! I have numerous issues like neck spasms, back pain, migraines, etc. all the time and she has helped me so much! I just recently went to her because I was having neck spasms and the next day, it was 100% better! I was able to move my neck around without feeling any stiffness. This was my first time getting acupuncture treatment and I was quite nervous. Lisa the receptionist was very kind and helpful and patient.Dr. Kim was as nice and patient as I have read in reviews. It's amazing how really small needles placed in certain areas of your body can cure the various ailments that one might suffer from. This is the gist of acupuncture medicine. I met with Sou Yeong to deal with the multiple illnesses I suffered from, ranging from headaches and stress to digestve problems. At first I wasn't sure if acupuncture could really help me, but I later found out I was wrong. I was feeling the build up of stress and tension that were the effects of a high stress level job, which caused me to experience recurring headaches. I made frequent visits to Sou Yeong to help alleviate the symptoms, and her skillful acupuncture therapy left me feeling tension and headache free, as well as feeling light as a feather. On another visit, she cured my digestive problems (indigestion and constipation). And during yet another visit, I was healed of the pain in my foot and found that the swelling that was present in my ankle went down considerably. Sou Yeong is very knowledgeable and skillful at the acupuncture she administers, and one visit with her will display her effectiveness and experience in the field. Today I woke up with severe plantar fasciitis to the point where I could barely walk on the balls of my left foot. I asked one of my physical therapist friend for advice to relieve the pain and she recommended icing and massaging it. I did this for a few hours but it wasn't helping. My wife suggested acupuncture and at this point I was desperate to try anything. I called a few places in the area and I came across Trinity Acupuncture. I called and spoke to Dr. Kim and she said she could squeeze me in evening time. I was happy to get an appointment that day. I get a call back saying her mid afternoon appointment canceled and wanted to know if I wanted to come in earlier. Even better!!!! The needles, pulse muscle machine, and heat pad was GREAT. I was actually worried about the needles but she gave me the peace of mind that I'm going to survive. I was soooo relaxed during the process that I actually snoozed. Dr. Kim checked in a few time to make sure I was comfortable and if I had any questions or concerns. Finally everything was over and I wanted to test out my foot to see if it was worth it. OMG!!! I went from a pain of 10 to like a 6. Prior to acupuncture I couldn't put any pressure on my heel but after I was able to put pressure. I wish I could say it was a miracle and I was completely healed but No!! BUT I'm confident to say the pain is manageable where before I would be cringing at each step. Bottom line it was worth it!!! I love Christy! My forearm had some muscle damage that was caused by a side effect from some strong meds my doctor had given me. Anyway, it was going on for about 9 months and the doctors had no idea how to get it back to functioning normally. It would literally lock up, I couldn't lift anything or even write sometimes. On a whim, I looked up acupuncture on yelp and read the reviews so figured what the heck. I was totally skeptical. But after the 2nd visit I noticed change. And after the 6th visit, totally back to normal. YAY!!!! And it was covered by my insurance. WIN WIN! Whilst playing basketball I suffered a severe lower back injury which was later diagnosed as a herniated disc. I have to say I've tried acupuncture before and it never did anything. I wrote it off but after a couple of injuries due to Krav Maga, I decided to give it one more shot, as western medicine proved useless and I didn't want to take a bunch of pills. I came in very skeptical and mainly came b/c my work insurance covered this. After my first appointment I noticed such a difference. The pain in my wrist completely stopped and I was able to get back in the gym. The massage therapist really knew what she was doing as well and really worked out my trouble areas. I have known Dr. Zhang for a number of years and she is an excellent professional for medical treatment. Currently Dr. Zhang is treating me for various back and leg pain due to a previous auto accident. At her office she reviews all of my medical history to see what may be causing my problems and then she provides a full summary for a medical treatment and solution. This treatment includes physical therapy for my neck, shoulders and back spine area. After these treatments I feel much better physically and mentally. She has also provided me with a specific food diet and other recommendations that have helped me improve. There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for my treatments from Dr. Kim. I strained my neck and shoulder really badly (which also shot pain through my back time to time) while I was under tremendous amount of stress to meet a deadline at work. I couldn't even get up out of bed without the help from my husband. I literally had to be "rolled out of bed". I got recommended to her by my chiropractor and knew she was in my area. Knowing my situation, she took me right away and I couldn't believe how much of a relief my body felt just with the first treatment. I walked out being able to move my neck and shoulders. As days went by I felt it getting better and better. Then after the second treatment, I was competely amazed to say that my movements were 100% back with no pain and stiffness.
